I watched George play an exhibition match in Calgary Alberta in July 1972 with Al Balding, Bob Charles and Bruce Devlin, the first time I had seen him live. It was a windy cool day and George made the other pros look like they were just learning the game! I think he hit 17 greens made no putts and shot 71. The thing I remember was he put so much spin on the ball that he could stop it on those hard greens- that's how square he hit it , with those old clubs from the era.
I was fortunate to spend time with George Knudson in Toronto for some practice sessions and inner knowledge. I learned under Moe but George was a friend also.
George Knudson had the most natural and unmanufactured golf swing of all time. Back and through....that was it.

I like how Knudson don't wrap the shaft around his neck in the follow-through. That's pure control in balance, and what Harvey Pennick liked to see.

I can see that Knudson was a Hoganite. Much more squat then Hogan, but the resembles is there and so is the ball striking.
