This describes my life in the 90's...yes, we're all married now, in our 40's and some have passed on, but I'm forever grateful for this moment of learning, and experimenting...I wouldn't be who I am now, if it weren't for that period. Everyone should have a period in their lives like this....just learn and survive from it...stay safe.
Talk about a walk down memory lane..this video is genius. I can picture these kids going out that night. "hey, we going to that rave?"..."sure, let me finish my Techmo Bowl game and get the keys to the chevette!"
and plus it shows abit of sadness that them days have gone for these people most of them have children some probably went the wrong way in life but they were all ther havin a great time at this moment And the music goes great with ther dancing
these young 20 something's are old enough to be your mum or dad plus this is the style of music that they were dancing too atmospheric gets in your body you feel it and thats what this video is showing
Lousy video. What does young twenty somethings dancing in a club have to do with this wonderful, atmospheric and moody song. Brings the music down several levels.
@dondzikowski ....Awww, would you like pictures of snow capped icelandic mountins and sunset beaches like every other lame video on youtube. If you cant hear the early nineties indie and dance influence in this music and recognise how this relates to early british rave culture as shown in the video then its u that is indeed down several levels !!!
Beautiful song, really good video. I can't stop listening and seeing the video. It reminds me of the early 90s, 1990-1991. The Smile t-shirt, the typical haircut, the bandannas, the round glasses and so on. Good times, more liveable than now. Truly a lot of nostalgia! Very good work!
I heard this on Sound Opinions last night, their "hidden treasures" episode. It reminds me of My Bloody Valentine, sort of a wave of music that floats through you. Love it!
@shrimpfarmersunion Hahahaha : ) Awesomest comment since the last awesome comment I heard! I like to invoke the slippery esoteric somethingness about Youtube comment stunningness.
For the last 10 years, it's been cool to try to invoke that slippery esoteric somethingness about 1980's new wave stunningness.
Washed Out not only does it, but coats it in something brand new, and it fucks with your head, because it sounds vintage and progressive at the same time.
One of the best artists to emerge in the last few years.
@Hammercrafter Someone's been spending all their time reading Rolling Stone reviews. I'm guessing that exact quote was said by a music magazine journalist.
this is a great song & i like the video.its very gritty.is washed out new? the only reason i clicked this song the cd cover on the sub pop channel. how many cds have they put out??
@mrsaints73 he started releasing stuff in 2009 in the form of cdr's, 7", and one 12". This off his new and first official album on Sub Pop. Great song isn't it? It makes me feel pretty positive when I hear it. I actually ordered a Washed Out t-shirt from Sub Pop and I got the limited edt. 7" on clear vinyl. Pretty awesome. :)
This was the first song that played on the Chillville playlist today at 8 AM on 101 X in Austin, TX. I had to drive my sister to the airport after a night of drinking and partying and 3 hours of sleep... and on my way home, I got a bit lost, but I was so happy I did, because there's practically NOBODY on the streets and highways. This is a gently sunny, sleepy Sunday morning. This song came on and washed over me and... omg, this is what religion and drugs should feel like. :)
@temanyada Fuckin A right it is!! The first one of my "friends" to comment on this video said, "By 'Awesomest song in the world,' you must mean 'Gay.'" I didn't know how to respond. It's brilliant if there ever were such a thing.
@CrownVicNiick Aye, it has a nostaligic utopian feel reminiscent of the world before the Internet etc. Positive uplifting vibes. A bit sugary but not too sweet with enough bitterness in the mix, but it keeps a feeling alive of the golden years of the early 90's. Electronic dream hymns of a retro futuristic postmodern present.
blissful tune. and for those who think W.O. is too produced just turn the treble up and the bass down :D

This video makes a rave look relaxing and peaceful, people connecting. The opposite of reality. Only this music could make a rave beautiful.
