I think most of you are being to harsh. How many of you have tried to make it? put it this way if you did, you would definetly use any way possible. This girl knows her range and sings within it and there's nothing wrong with that.

She dated G. Love before Jason, so maybe she just likes musicians that have something in common with her? Granted, this isn't her best performance, but she IS a quality performer, and her live shows are proof.

She's not BAD, she's just not good either. Dating someone with a fan base would have been pretty convenient when trying to stand out in the crowd. It's a competitive business, and doing that duet with him exposed her to his already existing fans. She's pretty, and her music has an airy almost john mayer-ness to it. her voice is unique, but she's not a *quality* singer and I prefer to show respect for trained artists who earn their own fame.

That doesnt make them bad by association, even i have to respect your view. Her voice is natural as it is and for the kind of music she does, its perfect.

After all, Jack J cant hit high notes too. But with this kind of chill-summer-surf music, you dont really have to.

I don't think the duet with Mraz or dating him was about getting more publicity. He wasn't all that well known at that time, his songs weren't played in my area at all, and most people who were fans of him then already knew about TP because he had her listed in the musician friends area of his website way back when. That's how I found out about her, from that list in '02-'03.

Sure, she probably got more fans through that duet and dating him, but that wasn't why she did.

She can't quite hit the notes. She sings in such a small range. Anything too low or to high is sung flat. My attention drifts away from the song and so the lyrics are lost. Goodbakcground music anyway.
