  • I want more Marshall the Marshal!!!!

  • As a native Madisonian (born in '53) this is wonderful

  • Tom Hooper later went on WITI-TV6 in

Milwaukee until he retired years ago.

  • Glad to see this station didn't destroy every bit of their history, as so many others have done....

  • This station must have survived real well in Wisconsin's capitol city, especially during the early years when you couldn't receive UHF channels on your TVs unless you you bought a UHF converter. Now many of us will have to buy DTV converters or else our analog sets will recive just snow!

  • WKOW had the advantage because it was the first station to sign-on in Madison, and its primary affilation when it first on the air was CBS. It became ABC in '56, after WISC went on the air.

  • Very cool! I was born in Madison in 1963 so a lot of this is before my time...but I remember John Schermerhorn and Hult Chevrolet...and very cool to see a very young Marshall Shapiro doing the sports report about Warren Spahn. I had a cousin who was a reporter for WKOW in the late 70s who showed me the news set and introduced me to Shapiro. Great memories!
