Do you know what would have happened if you didn't remove the dead baby? How would the mother remove it?

@Amberzrulz If the joey died when bigger then the mother can eject the body. At this stage I think it would be removed by her general pouch cleaning methods....eg: licking out or by holding by teeth.

I am so sorry for your loss! I'm a big animal lover and my 5 month old Siberian husky died a week ago. I cryed so much I can't imagine what you are going through.

I went through the same thing once trying to save a TINY baby sugar glider joey that could not attach to the tit. It was heartbreaking seeing the tiny baby fall off and even out of the pouch. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

@AstrexRabbits Thanks for understanding. It was a sad day and we do everything we can to save something. Thankfully Sadie has gone on to produce a healthy son and another daughter.

@grabster22 Strange you found 'tooooo funny'. Don't think my voice over was comical or intended to be. We raised Sadie from a young joey and this was really sad. Funny old life isn't it. Hope yours is happy and not filled with sad events such as this.
