  • Why does almost EVERYONE forget that a Passacaglia is a DANCE. A relaxed SLOW dance ! Dance music has rhythm, but does not push, it does not drive ahead.

  • @DainGerrUsss : Guht comment ! Sehr guht !

  • @MusicPredominates Thank you !!!!!

  • Wonderful.

The pedal notes should all be connected but with the wonderful breath athe beginning of the descent. Love his understated pedal stops at some places.

Hate his "lags" beginning at 3:00, especailly at 6:38. His hesitations interrupt the drive. Terrible.

  • @robertgift Drive? Why drive? 'Tis not an etude or a race. Please listen to an orchestral arrangement of this. They BREATHE, as he is doing.

  • I just love those first few bars laying down the basic theme which runs through the whole piece, and I adore that quiet arpeggio passage towards the end with the theme holding true throughout. Pure brilliance and utter joy.

  • L'esecuzione migliore che io abbia mai sentito

  • In my opinion, this is the single greatest piece of organ music ever, and Piet Kee's playing of it takes me into the realms of the sublime, with his unhurried tempo, total harmony with the great Muller organ and his superb layering of tone colours building to a thrilling climax. A few others come close to Piet Kee, but within his chosen repertoire, none excel him.
