Thanks for your reply. I understand what you're saying, but I was actually in this position a few years ago.
Although I absolutely HATED my job, I was grateful for it at the same time. Eventually however, I came to the realization that I will never be happy as long as I stay in that environment so I left it for a different job, making ~30% less money and I have never regretted it. Today I am MUCH happier and even MORE grateful for my current job, despite the huge cut in pay.
If you HAVE to say, "I love my job" over and over again, then the gratitude you have is artificial, not genuine, and you aren't fooling anyone, including yourself. Find a different job that you actually DO love and you will be much happier.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you're saying, but I was actually in this position a few years ago.
Although I absolutely HATED my job, I was grateful for it at the same time. Eventually however, I came to the realization that I will never be happy as long as I stay in that environment so I left it for a different job, making ~30% less money and I have never regretted it. Today I am MUCH happier and even MORE grateful for my current job, despite the huge cut in pay.

If you HAVE to say, "I love my job" over and over again, then the gratitude you have is artificial, not genuine, and you aren't fooling anyone, including yourself. Find a different job that you actually DO love and you will be much happier.

I had this situation in my life with a relative and didn't know what to do about it. Within days, I happened across this segment. He gets it exactly right: most people want to complain, not fix the problem. Since viewing this last year, I've made that change and no longer allow myself to be upset with these folks, and no longer enter into those arguments or listen to their ongoing complaints. When they're ready, then we can talk.
