But remember, this is a Japanese anime, so originality doesn't count as much like in America, because i can find a lot of anime's that have similar story lines or plots. 00 Gundam was the worst series of the whole Gundam and I'm really getting tired with Everyone especially Bandai with constantly giving us models thats exactly like Gundam Exia. Enough is Enough. Beside you should rate series base of its influence. Gundam started the whole revolution, Wing started the whole concept of Gundam team and Gundam in North America. Zeta for Gundams incredible weaponry and Turn A for using War Machines. 00 has no originality and ruined Gundam series in all.
Zeta Gundam is still ridiculously & unnecessarily popular . . . but thank God 00 seems to be picking up. Wing is nostalgic, but I can't really see it in a top 5 list.

I can't tell anybody my favorite gundam... But my favorite Gundam series is Gundam 00. I love it because the direction it went followed suit to my expectations. The final battle to the first season could not have ended any better for me. I have still not seen the movie but I'm sure I'd love it all the same. Second though is the original Gundam. re-watching it, it gives me this high feeling of excitement. The english script was well-written; simple and clean. I love it.

With the Principality of Zeon and the Nightmare of Solomon but no one knows who the Nightmare is ONLY the best pilot in all Gundam Series and only Zeon member to lead a Attack that didn't completly suck

I use to hate seed so hard...seed destiny was a repeat but i had no MAJOR problems with it....Seed was just too great for me in the end, for the time the series would take place in real life, the technology seemed real and the crazy shit was done by coordinators, so they weren't even normal people... Some suits were spinoffs but i think of it as its own universe. plus after ep30 you get Hooked BIG TIME or at least I did, which is why I liked it the best, its realistic for its time in the world.

The Cosmic Era Series was simply a REBOOT of the Gundam Series for a new generation of Gundam Fans. I didn't like Universal Century after I saw Gundam Wing. But after watching SEED and SEED Destiny I decided to look back at UC. My number 1 UC series besides Gundam Unicorn was 0083. The music, Opening sequence and one bad ass Gundam that the Zeon had. (Obviously they gave Gato the GP-02 because he was wearing a Feddie uniform. jk) But ya. Gundam 00 has similar aspects of Wing but its ok. xD

UC time line is the best. From 0079 to 0096. Because it is so epic. The one year war, operation stardust, The gryps conflict, the two Neo-Zeon wars to the laplace Conflict.
why does noone like X, it is actually pretty good and the writers are amazing considering they had to shorten it to 39 episodes due to it being placed at a retarded time.
@serefkana in Seed and Seed Destiny especially, the main characters can trash entire armies without getting hit. every piece of machinery that isn't piloted by a hero blows up from a vulcan to the leg, while all the heroes' suits can do anything. and in Seed Destiny pilots would constantly lose or gain skills just because the plot called for it. Shinn would have a hard time taking down the Destroy while it is piloted by Stella, but then he can take on 3 and slice them right down the middle?
@serefkana Cause the fangs are a combination of a small beam saber and rifle. Which actually makes sense because the way its designed could have one barrel for a rifle and another for the saber.
SEED/Destiny had grunt units being shot down and without giving a real fight. But the real bugger is Kira "Jesus" Yamato. His gundam gets impaled near the cockpit. He doesn't shut off the nuclear reactor in his gundam which then overloads. He survives with several bandages and gauze. Realistic? Nope.

That has no impact on the skill of the pilots. And I love GS better than anything else, but I don't regard the protagonists to be gods or anything. I see people rave over Heero and Amuro and whoever, and in comparison, Seed's protagonists are the closest to being realistic, and besides, emo characters are boring, not to mention that plot armors ruin the show. I don't like most Gundam shows because the protagonists plow thorugh everything with ease.

Seed was virtually fifty episodes of character development and internal struggle, which was a large part of why America hated it; it didn't have the plot-armored, screw-the-characters, mindless-action style that Wing and the other Gundam shows had.

I felt that they abused the dramatic utility known as death in many of the old Gundam. I'll use the average fan's words; It was one of Tomino's common kill-'em-all series. In fact, it made the plots of his works more or less predictable. If memory serves, Sunrise merged with Bandai at the time, making Victory his most hated creation.

When I said other Gundam, I was rather clearly referring to those such as Wing and G Gundam, which, at the time, were closer to Seed's debut in America, which was one of the main points of that particular statement. It's common knowledge that the RX-78-2 had no such thing as Gundanium Armor or a twin rifle capable of destroying colonies (Wing), or GN particle-coated armor (00), or anything else to let it go through battle after battle unscathed.

@serefkana i think the destiny looks awsome. but the strike freedom was so pointless! it looked just like the freedom, but with gold accents and with big funnels on the back. that being said, i like the freedom better simply because it doesn't have so many things on it.

The railguns on the skirts are shorter, the wings actually do something and look nicer, and the colour scheme is a little better. Though I'm not a fan of the gold, but its still kinda cool. (Whats the gold for? Something to do with the sun? or just looks?)

@Gottahavemyricema Any of the shows after 1995 are stand alone, G, Wing, X, Turn A, 00. Seed and Seed Destiny are a combi. Other than that, the series are set in the Universal Century, which goes First Gundam, Zeta, ZZ, with some OVAs filling in in between.
im going to get raged on by all the other guys but my top 3 would have to be. 3. zeta gundam 2. g gundam 1. gundam 0083 because it was such a good sereis and it had a very large impact on my whole veiw of gundam
I know it is a bit low to call others misguided or anything, and I certainly will not; but it is a shame that the older gundam series are pretty hard to find, this coupled with people not liking old series due to how they look makes me understand the choices for newer series.

ok i can't even understand the new gundam series after wing except for the first seed that was a good one but any other after just kinda sucked thats my appinion just kinda hard to understand all the characters since they don't just have 1 main and 4 smaller characters instead they got like 7-9 main characters trying to make it so they are all connected somehow in this overly complecated web of secrets and lie it just doesn't make sense far to much info and too many characters

Interesting ranking, I guess everybody votes according to the impact each series had on them...even if I actually started watching Gundam with 00, now that I've watched some more, I'd have to go with:
Gundam wing is my fave, mostly because there are no newtypes/coordinators/innovators. I thought 00 would be better but this constant threat of killing off all the main characters is annoying. I'll have my mind made up when its all over.
No suprise to me that Gundam 00 won its very popular right now. Gundam wing did very well in the US. In fact its the most mentionable. Of course the series from 3 to 4 years ago Gundam seed and Gundam seed It did petty good. As for me a Cosmic era Guy and AD guy I have alot of respect for the old Gundam series they bought Gundam where it is today. A Popluar and enjoyable series its too bad that some CE people have no respect for the old school and slam it give Seed and Destiny fans a bad name.

i think i've seen about a thousand of your videos. no jk, but i saw quite a few because i find them fascinating. i've never really seen any other gundam series besides Gundam wing and side story 80....or something like that. anyway, where do you buy these and how much are they? whats the difference between HG and MG and so on?

The Cosmic Era Series was simply a REBOOT of the Gundam Series for a new generation of Gundam Fans. I didn't like Universal Century after I saw Gundam Wing. But after watching SEED and SEED Destiny I decided to look back at UC. My number 1 UC series besides Gundam Unicorn was 0083. The music, Opening sequence and one bad ass Gundam that the Zeon had. (Obviously they gave Gato the GP-02 because he was wearing a Feddie uniform. jk) But ya. Gundam 00 has similar aspects of Wing but its ok. xD

The first Gundam series I saw was Wing on Toonami and fell in love with it,but for some reason I just didn't watch the other ones.Now I'm slowly starting to watch the other ones.I'm rewatching Wing,almost done with Seed,also in the middle of X as well.I finished 8th team and Gundam 00.So far my fav is Gundam 00!I plan to watch all of them especially the ones that started it all,if I can find it.

@serefkana in Seed and Seed Destiny especially, the main characters can trash entire armies without getting hit. every piece of machinery that isn't piloted by a hero blows up from a vulcan to the leg, while all the heroes' suits can do anything. and in Seed Destiny pilots would constantly lose or gain skills just because the plot called for it. Shinn would have a hard time taking down the Destroy while it is piloted by Stella, but then he can take on 3 and slice them right down the middle?

@serefkana Cause the fangs are a combination of a small beam saber and rifle. Which actually makes sense because the way its designed could have one barrel for a rifle and another for the saber.
SEED/Destiny had grunt units being shot down and without giving a real fight. But the real bugger is Kira "Jesus" Yamato. His gundam gets impaled near the cockpit. He doesn't shut off the nuclear reactor in his gundam which then overloads. He survives with several bandages and gauze. Realistic? Nope.

That has no impact on the skill of the pilots. And I love GS better than anything else, but I don't regard the protagonists to be gods or anything. I see people rave over Heero and Amuro and whoever, and in comparison, Seed's protagonists are the closest to being realistic, and besides, emo characters are boring, not to mention that plot armors ruin the show. I don't like most Gundam shows because the protagonists plow thorugh everything with ease.

I felt that it was a godsend that they took the "classics" in a new direction. The reason I persevered through such monotony is because it would only be fair to form opinions on them if I watched them. Anything else would be an argument devoid of any actual backing. Seed was virtually fifty episodes of character development and internal struggle, which was a large part of why America hated it; it didn't have the plot-armored, screw-the-characters, mindless-action style that Wing and the other Gundam shows had.

I felt that they abused the dramatic utility known as death in many of the old Gundam. I'll use the average fan's words; It was one of Tomino's common kill-'em-all series. In fact, it made the plots of his works more or less predictable. If memory serves, Sunrise merged with Bandai at the time, making Victory his most hated creation.

When I said other Gundam, I was rather clearly referring to those such as Wing and G Gundam, which, at the time, were closer to Seed's debut in America, which was one of the main points of that particular statement. It's common knowledge that the RX-78-2 had no such thing as Gundanium Armor or a twin rifle capable of destroying colonies (Wing), or GN particle-coated armor (00), or anything else to let it go through battle after battle unscathed.

@foottothenuts I prefer the Strike Freedom because its less buly compared to the Freedom. The railguns on the skirts are shorter, the wings actually do something and look nicer, and the colour scheme is a little better. Though I'm not a fan of the gold, but its still kinda cool. (Whats the gold for? Something to do with the sun? or just looks?)

@Gottahavemyricema Any of the shows after 1995 are stand alone, G, Wing, X, Turn A, 00. Seed and Seed Destiny are a combi. Other than that, the series are set in the Universal Century, which goes First Gundam, Zeta, ZZ, with some OVAs filling in in between.

I know it is a bit low to call others misguided or anything, and I certainly will not; but it is a shame that the older gundam series are pretty hard to find, this coupled with people not liking old series due to how they look makes me understand the choices for newer series.
I'd agree on all of these except Seed/Seed:Destiny, I liked Astray a lot better than those.

i actually got hooked into gundam through the video games of the 1st gundam. then wing aired here in the Philippines and got famous, then G gundam then x gundam
after seeing the fame wing gundam got they were pretty much my 1st gunplas (sandrock custom 1/144 being my 1st)

ok i can't even understand the new gundam series after wing except for the first seed that was a good one but any other after just kinda sucked thats my appinion just kinda hard to understand all the characters since they don't just have 1 main and 4 smaller characters instead they got like 7-9 main characters trying to make it so they are all connected somehow in this overly complecated web of secrets and lie it just doesn't make sense far to much info and too many characters

Gundam wing is my fave, mostly because there are no newtypes/coordinators/innovators. I thought 00 would be better but this constant threat of killing off all the main characters is annoying. I'll have my mind made up when its all over.

double 00? i personally didnt like the plot of the story. Wing should be the #1 then #2 is the Seed/Destiny.

No suprise to me that Gundam 00 won its very popular right now. Gundam wing did very well in the US. In fact its the most mentionable. Of course the series from 3 to 4 years ago Gundam seed and Gundam seed It did petty good. As for me a Cosmic era Guy and AD guy I have alot of respect for the old Gundam series they bought Gundam where it is today. A Popluar and enjoyable series its too bad that some CE people have no respect for the old school and slam it give Seed and Destiny fans a bad name.

eh , watched the first 5 eps of 00 last night , looks ok when i say ok i mean watchable if your bored but what i really want to see is first gundam , i cant find it anywhere or even in hobby shops , anyone kno where i can find it online ?
