  • 3:01 why fibonacci numbers?

  • @Sun0fABeach MATH metal

  • @Sun0fABeach can be found all over in nature...maybe part of ancient knowledge...

  • IT'S PUMPING INSIDE! YOUR.BLACK...VEINS!!

  • How to get sticky keys.....

    1. press shift 5 times

    2. sit with your pants off whilst listening to this band

  • love djent with clean vox? check HILLVALLEY watch?v=JOGRe1acJuI

  • this song got me into math metal

  • It sounds like In Death is Death by Meshuggah.

  • all good apart from those backstreet boys nasal vocals that ruin most tunes.

  • @MyArseX10 ahaha yea right who are the backstreet boys? why is that significant guess i should define everyone who wears a baseball cap as fred durst ahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • I wish this was in higher quality. SO FAPPING GOOD.

  • Badass video, nice song.

  • This is my neighbors' new favorite song whether they like it or not!

  • Djent is overrated. It's all groove metal you dumbasses. XD

  • @Freezaen no.

  • @Freezaen no it isn't you retard, groove metal doesn't utilize the tone Djent, thus the two are not the same.

  • @manugnauinggshtrajk You mad, genrearguingfag? Lolololololololol...

  • @Freezaen lol that made me laugh, i know right

  • @manugnauinggshtrajk Even they called themselves Groove Metal. YOU MAD?

  • my friend told me Fellsilent sucks..... yea i stoped hangin out with that guy

  • fellsilent is the best djent band of the 2000's by far. bands now days are trying too hard, and just being all trendy and copying each other. i doubt they will ever be equaled. tesseract and periphery etc. all suck compared to this.

  • @underscoreisnotvalid Tesseract is Acle (guitarist on the left)'s band. Lol....

  • @ainsleywalker haha, i know its the same guy. im not an idiot. im just saying i cant stand tesseract compared to fellsilent

  • @underscoreisnotvalid Ah right, how comes any idea?

  • @ainsleywalker i just hate the pretentious, wankyness of tesseract, the lame vocals, the out of context polymetric riffs. fellsilent is way more brutal, straight to the point, & the grooves are so accessible and immense. basically, i just feel that acle used all of his his best riffs on this album, he seemed much more at home with this band i think, while tesseract is just seems a watered down version of this. every riff on this album is just so fucking awesome i cant describe it.

  • @underscoreisnotvalid

I agree. I find TesseracT to be kind of slow and boring. I mean, they're a decent band, but I much prefer this stuff. If Monuments can ever get their album released, I think they'll be true successor to Fellsilent.

  • @SteeleInd Yeah man, shame the vocals will be different but oh well! hopefully something amazing will pop up

  • @underscoreisnotvalid Ah ok. well i personally think tesseract are great, but i basically grew up with Fellsilent so i'll always like em a bit more. i agree with the 'straight to the point' part though, nothing seems overthought out.

  • @underscoreisnotvalid i guess so i see, as much as i love tesseract, tesseract+monuments= fellsilent. i find really easy tht if you split fellsilent down the middle you get those two bands

  • @Gumbixxx dude ainsleywalker is right. Immerse was one of the later songs. it was the only song online for a while yes, but this was after the album was released in 08 as it was their best song. it has nothing to do with it being the first song haha it was written after the 2nd vocalist came so couldnt possibly be older than the EP. so do YOUR research

  • @Gumbixxx but think through what you're saying. you saying they pup the mastered album versions of a song with 2 vocalists, before hes even joined, or the EP's even out? come on man common sense, ive been following these guys for years.

  • @Gumbixxx mateimmerse was the last song written on the album. ill do some time lining for you. EP comes out 2006 with 1 vocalist. john browne says here in an interview ''Most of the stuff on 'the hidden words' was written with only 1 vocalist in mind, the only real song that shows what are intentions are for new stuff vocally is 'Immerse'. On newer material, the vocals will probably end up being a lot more chaotic and will interweave around rhythms with each other.'' joe joined late 06.... so..

  • Amazing band who's split created two more amazing bands,.

  • 3:52 43% what?

  • @Gumbixxx well seeing as their EP, released in 2006 contained drowned in my enemy, age of deception, mindless self, and silence i don't see how thats possible. lol

  • @Gumbixxx they werent the first two songs haha!

  • lol what's with the fibonacci equation that just randomly pops up? :P

  • Does browne dig bassists with dreads? Because that isn't Swanny, is it?

  • Monuments will never be the same without Neema.

  • I'm addicted to this band..

  • Shit. I just got introduced to djent metal today. Pretty awesome stuff. Didn't know about it til now.

  • The end reminds me so much of None

  • 2:26 - 3:06 EARGASM! especially 2:50

Intensley good, havnt heard this band in years brings back some memories

  • fuckin savage

  • why would a band this good split ? wtfffffff :(

  • "It's all too late" for all those bitches out there bitching about ripping of Meshuggah. What a narrow-minded remarks!

  • @Serpent435 Id rather bands be influenced by Meshuggah than some of the other crap they could be ripping off.

  • That outro is fucking brutal!

  • @theWERRD

TesseracT were around the same time as fell silent. The riffs Acle wrote that they didn't use became Fell Silent riffs.

  • @basickrecords the comment you guys made at the top show exactly why its good sometimes for people to agree to disagree and get on with shit :)

    peace

  • whats with all these Meshuggah fans man, does meshuggah give out free merch and shit to people that kiss ass to them all day??? meshuggah is dope but damn, get over it, thats the problem with this genre, when u have technical music, you get technical nit-picky,closed minded people to go along with it..its all MUSIC,no ones ripping anybody off and who gives a fuck what genre it is...fellsilent and monuments and meshuggah are amazing bands, let their music defend themselves, they dont need your help

  • @sk8njam any technical metal/ djent band is based on ripping off meshuggah. its like rap music.

  • @bugasmike wow you're ignorant...good job

  • @bugasmike in what way does this sound like Meshuggah? just because there's polyrhythms doesn't constitute such an ignorant claim. If that were the case, Meshuggah would be ripping off Rachmaninoff and other such composers.

  • @protestthehero112233 Ok, they rip off Meshuggah and Sikth, because they sound exactly like Meshuggah at some points, and exactly like Sikth at others. This just has breakdowns cause you gotta be chill with the hardcore kids or else no one will look dumber than you at your shows

  • @ApplezKiwi they don't rip anyone off. at no point is there future breed machine or Death of a dead day coming through the speakers on this song or any other one for that matter. you hear what you want to hear. If you're so elitist that you think a polyrhythm is copyrighted to Meshuggah, then I guess that's what you'll hear. Its called influence, not ripping off. Oasis was heavily influenced by the beatles, doesn't mean oasis isn't a legit band (though Im not a fan...you get my point though)

  • @protestthehero112233 When did I say Meshuggah owned the polyrythm? Maybe you shouldn't be so stupid and read before jumping to conclusions and trying to prove points with no backing. I understand what influence is, and I also never said Fell Silent isn't a legit band, so while I get your point, I don't understand where its coming from. Thanks for wasting internet space with a baseless refutation.

  • @ApplezKiwi wtf how can you argue against that, you JUST said they rip off meshuggah and sikth... like every other djent-denier... "it's not a sound or a style of music"... just because it was started by one band doesn't make it not a genre... especially when each band that people recognize as being good is more technical and progressive than the last... I love Meshuggah as much as anyone, they changed my style of drumming forever but really... fuck off they are definitely NOT all the same...

  • @punkrockdrummer you blew my use of a single word way out of proportion. and yes, i am fully aware of what various genres of metal there are, however, this band did what i said previously and i'm sure they rip off other bands too but i felt two was sufficient

  • fuckin ion dissonance shirt FTW

  • omfg the last breakdown is so heavy!

  • Oh my god that is the worst screaming I have ever heard.

  • Whoever said browne sucks check out monuments...and if no one else knew tesseract is the band the other guitarist started

  • @theWERRD tesseract was there for a few years......

  • @theWERRD Fellsilent stomps Monuments. Don't get me wrong they're good, but the production quality sucks and I like the chemistry in Fellsilent better.

  • Meshuggah did it first, but in my honest opinion, I think all the Meshuggah influenced bands are a million times better than Meshuggah themselves.

  • @1230hagen have you ever really listened to the drum/groovy parts? Solos maybe? There are a very few bands who will ever even hope to touch the skill the members of Meshuggah have. Your preference may be otherwise, but to say these other bands are a million times better is just utter crap.

  • @fazzeh90

I think he meant, that he likes them better, not that they are better technically. He just likes these bands better, and i agree in the sense that there are definatly bands out there that were heavily influenced by meshuggah but are releasing better albums than meshuggah in my opinion. Textures for example, is one of those bands and i'm not convinced meshuggah is that much better than textures technically either...

  • @Zuurkool1 I wouldn't want to talk bad about our country's most awesome band. Although Textures and Meshuggah do have very different approaches the music they make. They rely on different aspects as to what defines their technicality and musical theme; therefore they aren't really comparable in my opinion.

  • @fazzeh90

great anwser, and i would say the same under different circumstances. I was using textures as an example as a band that i prefer to meshuggah subjectively and that might also be on the same technical level objectively to make a point that it's not just meshuggah ruling the field and the rest of the bands being stupid counterfeits... thats all :)

  • @1230hagen yes I have. and I agree with you on talent, but as far as my personal preference in listening goes, I prefer the "Meshuggah influenced" bands like Fellsilent, Periphery, Born of Osiris, Circle of Contempt, Tesseract, Vildhjart, and the Elitists far over Meshuggah. I love Meshuggah and they are some of the most talented men, so you are right, I take back what I said. I should have said that I prefer the other bands instead of saying they are better.

  • @1230hagen there is no arguing about taste mate, glad to have cleared that up :)

  • BAHH!! THIS SONG MAKES ME WANT TO RIP OFF MY EX'S HEAD OFF!

  • Reminds me a bit of Sikth

  • ION DISSONANCE FTW! \m/

  • Comment removed

  • @Freezaen i saw ion dissonance about a month ago. it was kinda bad cause i was trippin on acid, and the sound in the place just absolutely sucked donkey balls. plus there was a bunch of drunk dick heads around so it was kinda tough, but the band is really fuckin cool we hung out with them between each band and then partired with them afterwards

  • one of the singers looks like the dude from heaven sheall burn

  • screw the subgeneres, I lvoe metal in general.

  • Incredibly technical, awesome sound. The vocalists just kill it for me. Doesn't sound like screaming, sounds like whining.

  • The music and singing are great, but I'm not sold by the two screamers that sound identical. They should have someone with a deep screaming voice to round out the sound in my humbly honest opinion. :P Still a pretty good band though.

  • Somehow this song reminds me of Diablo 2 :)

  • FUCKING SICK ASS SONG !!!

  • i agree polyrythm is just another great musical tool and quite a few bands use it.. if it had its own genre then you probably wouldnt complain about how you think it sounds like everything else... there are only so many chords you can play... and only so many ways you can play them ... i dread the day that we run out of ideas... such is the cycle.. fell silent is just one more example of excellent musicianship and a new twist on a widely regarded brutality.. if you dont like it dont comment!

  • @SuperIzzyc hahaha what???? dont ever limit peoples abilities man, people will NEVER run out of ideas...and only so many chords we can play??? and only so many ways to play them???!!!!! ive been playing guitar for awhile man i dont think its possible to run out of ways to play, music is infinite

  • loved these dudes but neemas vocals just pissed me off

  • urr.. I suppose they are using polyrhythms. But not really. Polyrhythms usually involve two rhythms of different timings unless I am mistaken. Here, they use the same rhythm over itself, only slightly shifted so that the onset of the first pattern occurs slightly after the upbeat. I always thought that polyrhythms were exclusive to varied rhythms, like psyopus's 'imogen's puzzle pt.1,' which has triplet eights over straight sixteenths and the like.

  • @adognamedsally who fucking cares.Do you like it? the answer will direct you to buy the record of move on. Who cares what catagory it's in????

  • @rounder421 Well. I didn't actually say anything about the band's merit, only about polyrhythms. My comment has nothing to do with the category of the band; I was commenting on the musical techniques employed by the band. As for the band, they are pretty fun to listen to I guess.

  • Everyone should quit bitching about 'ripping off' Meshuggah and just be proud/thankful that such a good band emerged from the UK for fuck sake. It's not often we get such quality as what FS were so embrace it & enjoy it.

  • @demisemanagement bro if i could like this thing 12698631529836298633 times i would

  • i love when vocalists alternate words..

  • I don't think meshuggah are the first band to use polyrythms or create them. poly rhythms are based on timing in music. most of the people calling them rip offs a a bunch of sheep anyway so fuck them

  • Lol@3:00

  • Comment removed

  • Fibonacci @ 3:00

  • @metalsimon haha right... had a math exam bout that last week

  • Comment removed

  • Seriously? Meshuggah? They sound a lot more like SiKth if you ask me. Please don't try to tell me SiKth sounds like Meshuggah too....

  • 3:00 is so brutal =]

  • heavy on freemason symbolism

  • @21Bouncer yes indeed

  • that's awesome guys

  • It was about this time last year I started listening to them, I've been so put down about the fact they split up. We get TesseracT and Monuments out of the bargain though and TesseracT is shaping up to be my favourite new band.

  • The video fits very well with the music..

    Like it.

The Eye of Providence can be seen a lot , make your own conclusion.

  • Fellsilent are actually epic, its such a shame that they broke up

  • @chippy142 They didnt really break up, the remaining members just continued on as Monuments.

  • @chippy142 fellsilent is still alive man...listen to monuments theyre the same guys minus one guitarist and they still kick ass

  • fuck neema

  • neemas voice was just starting to grow on me. rip fellsilent

  • @zachthebamf Listen to him in Monuments then :)

  • Nice Illuminati symbolism.

  • this song kicks ass

  • Cheers for your comments guys, even if we dont agree with them all of the time its still good that people are talking :)

Make sure you check the bands MySpace Blog for the scoop on the split etc

  • @jwalts37 sikth had some really annoying vocals sometimes but that didn't stop them from being gods in the genre. it grew on me tbh

and is it just me or is the sound really fucked up on this (and ever other copy of this vid for that matter)? like goin in and out in volume all the time.. kind of annoying.

  • @imapyro696 yeah the volume does mess about a bit, it's what happens when the processor in the computer or the modem is doing too much shizz at once

  • neema needs to have his balls drop. One of the worst vocalists ive ever heard. This band has an immense amount of talent. One of my favorites. But in my honest opinion this band would be 100 times better with just the other vocalist. Neema shrieks. Its annoying. Ive shown this band to so many people and every one of them said "i dont like that one vocalist, the band is sick though".

  • @jwalts37 Well you'll be happy to hear that Neema seems to have gained those balls you mentioned, just listen to Monuments the band he's now in. You'll notice the difference.

  • R.I.P. FELLSILENT

  • NOW! its all gone!

    ITS PUMPING INSIDE!!

    your

    black

    VEINS!

    haha i love it

that last breakdown is fuckin expert

  • There's a bunch of bands like these that are heavily influenced by Messhugah. Nothing wrong with it. I, for one, love these bands.

    DAT DJENT.

  • how can you have 2 singers and they both suck dick?

    instruments are fucking great though

  • @Toxin08 ya they're like a less technical Meshuggah + shitty hardcore vocals.

  • @Toxin08 Personally, I think it's the brown guy who sucks.. the other one isn't all that bad, and their clean singing isn't too bad at all.

  • @Toxin08 their singers are fuckin dope yo, how can you have 2 cents and give a damn, and yes the instruments are great, as well as the singing imho, basically Fellsilent were the shizz-tit yo

  • @Toxin08 i like that u have ur own strong opinion just please know that ur wrong..........neema and joe are fukin amazing.u need to take whatever form of cock u have in ur ass outa their ok,fell silent are.......were the second best band ever, second only to meshuggah, bye bye :P

  • @Toxin08 u suck,and ur opinion isnt a good one

  • Meshuggah* haha helped if i spelt it right

  • fell silent are well gooood they ddnt copy messugah man they awsome

met the guitarist an vocalist at studio :) awsome guys!!

  • Fuck everybody who goes on like this band copied Meshuggah? They didn't.

  • fuck!!i liked immerse way better than this song

  • Very, very good. Meshuggah's influence is obvious (so what? Mesh has become one of the biggest pillars of a new modern metal generation). Less complex though, but more catchy. Gos bless the melodic parts (and fuck the squared metalheads who say bullshit everytime they hear a clean voice)

  • listen at about 2:26 on drowned in my enemy rhythm wise it sounds like the break down in soul burn at 4:30 check it out. agreed the sound nothing alike but they totally ripped that for like 3 seconds lol man i got nothing to do back to the studio

  • I don't think they at all ripped off any other experimental bands such as meshuggah. More kinda gained influence from them which is how bands are born. Listen to Meshuggah then FELLSILENT and you will notice ALOT of differences.

  • @hotfuzz353 i agree. lotsa people say these guys ripped off of sikth with their proggyness and dual vocalists. and while i think sikth are a way better band i dont think the two sound anything alike. sikth is quirky and fun and has more screamo influence. fellsilent is heavier and doesn't seem to have much influence aside from metal. they also bring the mosh to tech metal which i really like.

  • that break down sounds like soul burn shit is dope tho

  • it makes me want to FUCK SHIT UP !

  • "wah wah my guitars better than yours" you've got some balls havent you! How about shut your mouth, stupid boy.

  • u fucking dumb if ur guitars r better than why r u signed u stupid fuck

  • when r these fuckers gonna release some more shit

  • @xADEAN4DIMEx agreed

  • One of their guitarists quit or something so thats why it takes them so long, although they are writing again now.. So that's a good sign (:

  • I don't know man.

They're myspace says they're writing new material but no news yet on another album.

  • yes but ur not a badman, so silence

  • While I agree with some of you're saying, you're a moron. What would they sue them for? You can't fucking copyright a chord, I guess your assuming they stole the outro from DEP.

  • Two vocalists can be really awesome, but not when they sound that similar. They sing alike and scream alike! I guess it would be good for on stage, but as far as records go, It seems a little redundant don't you think? Maybe its just me

  • they don't sound to me very similar

  • really? Well, maybe I'm crazy haha

  • Obvious Meshuggah influence (first riff), waaaay too obvious SikTh influence, and (humour me) I see some Dillinger Escape Plan in there. Compare the mellow part around 1:29 to the breakdown in Sunshine The Werewolf by DEP. The people who already listen to DEP know what I'm talking about.

Nuff said about the comparisons, though. I think this band is growing on me.

  • @tdlwn okay

  • who wouldn't be influenced by any of those three bands now a days? it seems harder and harder to be "original" when everything has been done before. not impossible, just harder.

  • everyone listen to or check out AFTER THE BURIAL...deadpunk you'll wonder where they've been all your life

  • amen

  • They were in the "average" bracket all my life -__-

    Deadpunk, dont fucking bother haha.

  • your an idiot man...they are far beyond average.

  • Ohh haha that was you :D

    It's "You're",but yeah I am a bit of a twat

  • ATB is the sickest shit

  • where the fuck has this band been all my life!
