It was the first year where you could start a full season, being able to play any team, any game during the season, shot blocks, first year with player trades and year end awards. and first year with create-a-player... get your life together. It did more for the franchise than anything else except nhl 09.
Funny thing : When you score, all you players look happy, but a played NHL 2003 and in this game when you score, the players doesn't move, like if the game wasn't stopped.

Great game. I do recommend taking the 'off-sides' *OFF* though. I like to stick to the rules too, but that just takes so so long- that is time off of your life.

I used the "create a player" option and trades to build teams that just couldn't lose. I would put up 20-30 goals on a regular basis and give up 1 or 2. Not realistic at all, but still fun.

To whomever posted this. I would love to challenge you to this game. I once had 154 shots in one game, with 14 of them being goals. But it was set on 20 minute periods and no offsides, cuz that ruined this game.
The only real way to play this was seeing how many checks you could rack up in a game.

I have probably played over 500 games of NHLPA 93, NHL 94, NHL 96, and NHL 98 each.
I think I've played '95 10-15 times in my life. I got it used and thanked God I never got it when I was a kid. What a mail-in shit effort by EA.

Theres pretty mucha cheat in this game that makes you do goal averytime.
Just go to the left upper ring, and go straight by the goalkeeper and just backhand it in :9 the goal keeper never catches up.

Haha, I play as the Sabres too on that game. Great hockey game.
Couldn't help but notice Petr Svoboda's (#7) horrible shot. Almost everytime he shoots the puck in that game, it goes out of the rink.
Mogilny and LaFontaine are beasts in this game, though.
