I was at this opening and it was so much fun. It is God's grace alone that gave this church the opportunities it has experienced and brought so many non-believers the love of Jesus. Baysiders are prideful because we love God and what he's done for us. For ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory.
So I pray: Lord forgive us our selfish pride but let only that pride which results from our thankfulness for your love be felt in this community.
Dear "Godiseverywhere1", You shouldn't be making the comments you did if you haven't been there. You don't know the "family" that Bayside that IS, that gathers in Jesus' house, or Pastor Randy. The 5 minutes that you watched, should not be judged by you or anyone else. We've been a part of this whole Bayside experience until this grand opening day. Just because it was said "Randy's church", we all know it's God's church that was put on Randy's heart to build.
(cont'd) So you shouldn't be analyzing or judging. This church has changed so many lives, brought many people to Christ, and it has been THROUGH Pastor Randy that God has used for that. Good luck in your search in California. Maybe you'll be fortunate enough to find one like Bayside.
Did you hear what he said though... "5:00 o'clock , Saturday Night, Randy's church" I'm guessing that's the pastor there, Randy? Randy doesn't have a church. Jesus has a church which is all of us combined as believers. What I'm seeing here is a bunch of prideful self-back patting. What your saying is the way it should be but I don't see that. And I don't need to go to your church to comment on what I see. I was looking for a church in CA when I stumbled on this. Bay side in FL is in my prayers
Yes Jesus is everywhere!! And we are thrilled that we have enough space to house all who come to worship and praise Jesus....in this house of God. Our Pastor has changed lives, his brother was speaking during this taping...both pastors. We share the love of Jesus. We reach out to the hurting folks. And there are many that need to hear that Jesus is here!! Prideful, we are grateful that we were able to reach so many people. Should be the goal, right?
I like the one guy's quote, "Jesus is here". When is he not there? The bible says that "if 2 or more are gathered in my name, I will be with them." I've been to many church openings in my time as a missionary and these people are a little too prideful I should say.
@ Godiseverywhere - As for Pastor Randy's comments:
#1 The church can be "his" as in "That's my school" or "It's my community." The guy wasn't implying it BELONGED to Randy! LOL.
#2 Jesus is here AND he is everywhere. These statements are not mutually exclusive. I mean it's not like he said Jesus is ONLY here and NOWHERE else!
Somebody needs to take the stick out of their own eye before they try to dissect a few slivers out of a whole church full of enthusiastics believers.
