  • Cant post links here but the link is under the like and dislike indicator just under the video. It is G6 owners club...you can Google it if you like.

  • Hey bro, quick question for you. How much did that cost you to get done? From what I have found online it seems that you had to have it all done custom... I hate how the gtp has a one in two out muffler design, BC the way it sits means if you just wanted to replace the stock muffler, the piping would have to be custom bent just for the flowmaster super 40, which is what I want. But doing that would logically increase back pressure which may cause some performance problems- no?

  • @killthefox89 It was about 500 all together and it is all custom 100% stainless. If you are going for true dual set up you will need to cut off both banks exhaust pipes right after the cats then have new flex bellows installed. Get the heavy duty ones installed.

  • @jetmech5 Then rout both pipes in the recess for the original exhaust and then around driver side of gas tank. After that where you put the flowmaster 40 s is up to you. I used an X pipe muffler from magnaflow. That eliminated using 2 mufflers. You will also remember that you need to keep the velocity up in your exhaust to gain torque.

  • @jetmech5 If you have too less of restriction you will loose velocity and torque. Too much restriction and it will kill the top end power. This is another reason why I opted for an X pipe muffler. It has a crossover tube built in to the muffler to scavenge exhaust and keep the velocity up in the flow. If you look up the purpose of an X pipe in an exhaust you may better understand.

  • @jetmech5 you really got offended by me telling you your car doesnt have true duals didnt you? haha. okay bud...im just saying that theres no reason to try and tell people you have a true dual set up because you bought an X pipe...thats all im saying. and its not "technically true duals"...the only way you can have "true" duals is to actually have them...you can have dual exhaust but its not nearly the same as having true duals...youd be better off getting a supercharger if you really want HP.

  • youre an idiot. you cant have "true dual exhaust" on a front wheel drive car. only rear wheel drive cars where the engine sits vertically can have "true dual exhaust". dont try to fool people who know a thing or two about cars. youre not a bad ass because you can have a xpipe exhaust installed on your manly pontiac g6....get over yourself. RWD cars have engine banks on either side of the engine. as opposed to your v6 with an inline 6 cylinder engine. unless your put a mustang engine in there...

  • @xofloppy11xo You caught me...You are a genius. I can tell you are elite just by the exceptional grammar you use in you magnificent critique. Furthermore, your knowledge of automotive design is astounding. I did not realize one would "catch on" to the fact that a straight six has only one bank. I am relieved you busted me out. I will no doubt sleep better tonight...thank you floppy

  • @xofloppy11xo Lol what a doucher... Obviously it's not as efficient or well laid out as a RWD setup would be, but it is STILL technically true dual exhaust.

To Poster, nice car and nice build would like to see more of it as I'm trying to a similar exhaust setup on my 3400/3500 swapped Beretta... are you on a forum anywhere?

  • @IvyMike551 Pontiac g6 performance dotcom

  • @IvyMike551 g6 owners club (link is at the top) You can see pics of it there from front back. You can also see how both pipes are routed around the fuel tank. There was also a custom hanger made for the back.

  • @jetmech5 ...Do you have a direct link so I don't have to search through everything on the site? (Doesn't seem to have a very obvious search feature...)

  • im getting this car next year spring..engine sounds meann...can you give me the pros and cons of this vehicle in your opinion plz

  • @STASHBK Thanks. I guess it depends on what options one has on the car. I have a manual transmission with a clutch NOT an auto stick, performance suspension, 3.9 high output engine, no fly by wire steering and 18 inch rims. This is all factory. The G6 is plagued by issues with the fly by wire steering locking up, automatic transmission electronics shorting out, leaking sunroofs, and other minor stuff. If you get a manual transmission and normal power steering you will eliminate most problems.

  • Your car pooted -.-

  • @sandmonstro Hahaha...LMFAO...dork!

  • @jetmech5 My G6 sounds kinda like yours, I'll see if I can upload a video.

  • that was like 2500 rpm what a chode

  • @joeebloww99 There are 2 vids.

  • I hate these "videos" where you guys say listen to the exhaust and then don't even bother to really give it any revs.

  • @wjrneo2 Look at the video related to this one.

  • @wjrneo2 There are 2 vids

  • True duals means that the downpipes off each header have their own collectors and dont "Y" into each other to form a single pipe. This "Y" would be as close to the engine as possible for a single. If he has a single pipe running off each header going all the way to a crossover pipe or "x" muffler then splitting into 2 tailpipes, then its true duals

  • is the black part on the bottom of the bumper detachable. if so i would like to know if i can buy one anywhere with the 2 openings for dual exhausts

  • @chubbz350z Try GM parts direct, Ebay or G6owners club.com

  • so what headers do u use? cause the only ones I see the front bank meets the back bank at a Y then goes to a flex pipe with the flange to attach the cat back. All you have to do search ebay and see the headers listed to know what im saying

  • @03blackgsx , No one makes headers for my cars engine. I think some people made their own but have not offered to sell any copies.

  • @jetmech5 yea they do milzy motorsports, i have cam. headers. tune

  • @watever713 No they don't. Thay got notin 4 my car wit 3.9

  • @jetmech5 yes they do my is a 3.9 06 gtp. go to milzy motorsports and get his email and he will tell u what parts are available now. cam, header, tune, throttle body, down pipe, trust me

  • @watever713 ok I will check. Thanks.

  • @watever713 Well I got an email back from Mike at Milzy. They do not have anything for g6 GTP 3.9L. You must be confused on the type of car you have or the motor. I can forward you the email if you like.

  • @watever713

No, there aren't any pre-made headers for the 3.9L VVT LZ9 engine. They only make headers for 3.5L and the new DOHC motors.

  • @wjrneo2 You are correct. I guess GM did not make the LZ9 long enough to create interest in aftermarket parts.

  • The car is FWD so the motor sits sideways. Even if it had headers, those headers would come together at a collector before you added your dual magnaflow and X pipe. Only True duals starts at each header and runs straight back , meaning left side of motor exits on left side of car and vice versa

  • @03blackgsx. It has a built in X pipe in the muffler itself. I am not sure why a few people have a difficult understanding of this. left and right banks form an X inside the muffler. It is true dual so the is no Y pipe converging both exhaust banks into one pipe. The Y pipe has been cut out and removed.

  • @03blackgsx Once the Y pipe was removed, two down pipes from each bank after the cats are all that is left. Two flex pipes were installed, then two pipe extensions were installed making symmetrical and equal lengths of pipe. Then the magnaflow X pipe muffler was installed two inlet and two outlet on the muffle, and the muffler is strait through with no restriction or baffling. After the muffler two pipes were installed to the rear of the car.

  • @03blackgsx Is one to think that if an X pipe or H pipe is installed on a dual, then it ceases to be dual exhaust?

  • @03blackgsx Black GSX I am not sure what you mean by

"The car is FWD so the motor sits sideways. Even if it had headers, those headers would come together at a collector before you added your dual magnaflow and X pipe"

  • @03blackgsx If the car had headers it would have 2 header collectors. It is a V6 2 cylinder heads...understand?

  • @jetmech5

a v6 has 3 cylinders on each bank

  • @03blackgsx

all Im trying to say is that a FWD v6 will have a crossover pipe from the front bank to the rear bank then to a collector. If you have the front bank and the rear bank starting from the heads back then its true dual

  • @03blackgsx, Yes each cylinder head has a dedicated single pipe all the way to the rear of the car. One pipe from the (front bank) going all the way to the rear of the car. One pipe from the (rear bank) going all the way to the rear of the car. They do form an X in the muffler.

  • Respond to this video... . This X adds velocity to the exhaust gasses resulting in lower pressure in the exhaust pipes. This lower pressure means more rapid evacuation of exhaust gasses from the combustion chamber. Thus creating more torque and horsepower.

  • @03blackgsx, No..reeeeeally,

  • how?

  • iloveshare is right.. true duals dont meet at all.

  • @smitty47 Is this a true dual?

  • @smitty47 OK My bad. I don't have true duals or duels on my car at all. It's all a big lie. I don't know what I am talking about. You guys are both right. You both are very smart and should should apply for a crew chief position for John Force.

  • this aint true duals true dual exhaust has two mufflers not one

  • @iloveshare Whatever you say kid.

  • @jetmech5 buddy im running true duals on my mustang

  • @iloveshare Well good for you kid. I hope it runs good. The muffler I have on there is an X pipe muffler 2 inlet 2 outlet the pipes inside form an X. Do you run an X pipe on your mustang?

The reason for this is to increase velocity of the exhaust.

  • @jetmech5 no all i got is 2 cats and straight back no h pipe or anything where most mustangs have the x pipe and the v6s to dual conversion have the h pipe on them mine does not

  • sounds sexy

  • did you have to buy a dual exhaust bumber for you mufflers?

  • @ilovecds112 No my G6 is a GTP and the dual outlet is from the factory.

  • @jetmech5 what size tips, and can u give me the part # please, thanks. I have a gxp, do u think it will sound that nice

  • @sergsrt8 Sorry I don't have that info. You can look them up on the magnalow web site. The tips are from magnaflow.

  • nice, have an 09 g6 gt that im currently under construction with, good suggestion of what i might do

  • depends on what you want to do.

  • AWESOME system, sound turned out similar to mine. Glad you were able to find someone to do it for you and that muffler is awesome, almost wish it was available when I did my exhaust.

  • I like that.... sounds good!

The GTR makes the 6 sound like a motor boat.

  • Thanks, yes muffler is tucked in center of car where the resonator was. I was going to put additional muffles on but no need. It's not that loud. Not much roll back and the roll back that is there is muffled and not poppy. Has areal deep growl when getting on it hard and down shifting. Noticed an immediate increase in torque at 3000 up. I need to get an ECM tune to have all the nanny controls removed. Could not rev it too high as I live in a condo. I will post another video soon.

  • yeah i have an 06 with the same engine ive seen a few people with the GTR exhaust but it pops alot i like how this sounds

  • sounds nice man.... wheres the muffler? where the stock resonator is?

  • you should have revved it harder.
