What does it matter if Obama is a Muslim? It's not against the law or unconstitutional to be Muslim, nor does it remove your right to run for and be elected president.

I hate to break this to you player, but I'm not a christian. However I do believe in the teachings of Christ . I don't believe in a personal man god who lives and rides on a white cloud. I believe the Universe is conscious and that we are all connected to this "consiousness" which is God. Nothing that I believe in contradicts science. You obviously have intelligence.. now gain some spirituality and you will discover science and God are the same thing.

I wouldn't say they are 'free'. There are far more Democratic and secular countries than the US. They are at the top of the livability and democratic indexes - countries like Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands. Countries where you can smoke a joint in the street and politicians can admit that you hold no religious beliefs with no fear of reprisal. America has some serious catching up to do.

I hope to see it in my lifetime (i'm 24) but I'm not holding my breath. People in Europe understand that Government and religion don't go together, but The US has not. This shit has blown my mind since I first heard it. I'm not exactly a scholar of world relgions--I just took an introduction to religion class in college--but it has always been obvious to me that the mouth breathing right wingers who claim he's a Muslim don't know the most elementary facts about Islam.
Not sure why Maher mentions smoking, which, as far as I know, isn't forbidden -- most Muslims I know are smokers. Alcohol and pork, on the other hand...
