Thank you that was beautiful. It's a beautiful sunny day out here in Santa Monica and the door is open to the garden and I'm just going to enjoy myself by playing a couple more of these wonderful videos and sipping on my cup of coffee. But I sure miss that wonderful hat
I've also got a Buddy Williams remake of his 1942 version recorded in around 1968, released in 1969. Grandpa Jones was another singer who recorded this song as well as Jerry Lee Lewis, of which i've got his version too.
We've seen the listings for different versions of the song. We've heard Jerry Lee Lewis's version - VERY different from the versions Santa always heard and now sings. There's even a Bette Davis version here on YouTube. :-)
Really? That song has made it all over the world! I don't know what version Santa's mother listened to when she was dying in 1940, but we've heard a number of versions. I'll have to see if we can find Buddy Williams' version. :-)
LOL! The HAT! I originally was only going to post these privately, for family, but Santa, being the ham that he is, insisted on making them public. They are kinda fun, aren't they? His family sure does love to sing! We're happy to see your kind comments. :-)

Australian Country Music pioneer Buddy Williams recorded a version of this song on the 18th of May 1942, just a singer and guitar.

It was wonderful hearing others singing it with him. I've heard him sing it alone so many times.
