@northeasteg6 yeah thats true. i dont think its worth buying forged rods for those engines. im building a ZC DOHC. just ordered me some crower i beam rods so that should hold up pretty well. do you know if the ZC can make some major power or at least some decent power??? im boosting it and im aiming towards 400-500whp but i dont even think its possible with the ZC.
@91cannibal you can build a high reving monster out of the d15b7 with the right mods.
but 400whp is doable in the dohc zc, i seen a website where there are quite a few teams running that kind of power, but they have spent $15,000 or more.
if you want cheap power, i suggest a H22 or B18c swap.
if you want to be different. a high power ZC is good then, but it is costly.

Yes get the d16a6 cam, exospeed carrys them as well. You can use the d16a6 cam in a non vtec d15. The heads are the same. Thats the cam I'm using. Just use a d16z6 cam gear to correct the timing.

Yup still b7 head. I had two brand new gaskets laying around. Their just as good if you take them apart and assemble each layer in order starting with the metal layer. It had to be that thick because I am using p29's with 137mm rods and not the regular b7/b2 134mm rods. Pistons were around .049 above the deck with that combo.
I bet you don't have a clue or especially the experience of what you're talking about.. Just read online that cam won't be too streetable.
My streetable is that I can drive it at the streets, no matter if its harsh or idles lumpy/high and fuel mileage is anything reasonable. 10MPG from Honda wouldn't be.
hey man i have a d15b vtec, i visited the exospeed site to look for a cam but they only have them for the d16. are they all the same. which one did you get? do you necessarily have to redo anything else besides valve springs and retainers?
Damn cant wait to fire mine (arias 11.5.1 pistons exospeed stage 3 cam isky valvetrain, bought the skunk 2 intake manifold but had clearance issues, might as well buy the throttle body from skunk 2 and the edelbrock intake from exospeed... Exospeed is your friend.

So c/r should be around 12.1 with 2 y8 hg's, p&p head, bisi springs and exospeed cam.. Yea love the cam, thanks to Will.

how is the driveability? Is it any more difficult to drive in traffic and whatnot? I cant wait to get my pm7's in. I am thinking about stepping up to a Bisi Level 3 cam and a Bisi Header.
yea the driveability is ok, just have to adjust the idle and its all good. It takes time to get used to but I dont mind it. I think this cam is the farthest I will go for a dd. Hell yea your cars going to boogie with the pm7's ad the bisi cam, I know the level 3 is a lot crazier than mine.. go for it and I know theres a bisi header fs right now on h-t

the d15b head is the same thing as a z6 head so use parts for a z6

the JDM d15b VTEC cam has a more agressive OEM cam then the Z6 oem cam but thats the only real difference between the heads
