  • Why did you use the UDeflector, whats the difference from the others ?

  • what are ur specs?

  • @Calvinator321123

    Nothing special. Q9400, 4GB RAM, Win 7 Ult 64 , GTX 260

  • Kool, these are the most well thought out and clear tutorials I have ever seen. You should be in the intruction business. ONE MAJOR request, though: NOT ENOUGH ZOOM on the values boxes. It is very difficult or impossible to read the numbers that you are imputting.

Otherwise, awesome work -- and thanks!

  • @BillWhittleChannel

Thanks for the input I'll remember that sometime if I come out with anymore.

  • your tuts are awesome....and easy to understand....with music.........

  • omg thnk you i know theres no voice but it really hleped thnk you ^^

  • I rather tutorials with both voice and visual

  • Great But A very low quality tutorial

  • Care to justify what you mean by low quality tutorial?

  • @koolJ the lack of Voice Over i think he means but not a problem for me becoz it means that I can watch your tuts when im at work with no one realizing

  • @oscarknott69

Yes well thats one reason I don't bother with voice overs. For one, it generally makes them longer and more boring, and another it requires you to listen. I prefer my tell and show method because things are clear and easy to follow. Ive seen too many voiced over tutorials that were either hard to hear, follow or just boring.

  • @koolJ also way too many super strong accents out their that are hard to understand. u should do one on ray fire tool :)

  • @koolJ for the extrude what was the amount

  • @goku223344

I believe 200 in default max units.

  • you have been helping me alot on 3ds max!I dont know how to thank you... Will a subscription do any good?

  • Awsome!I learned so much from u!Thanks!

  • me too!!! hehehehehe.

  • after few months of practice, i am making my first real 3ds max animation its about self activating flame thrower turret, can u koolJ tell me what u think when i finish it? ty and ty for the tut...

  • thank's

  • thank you

  • well, I for one enjoyed the beat of this music, though I mainly listen to the "beat" of any music =)

    anyways, nice tutorial!

  • HD, please!

  • Sorry, this is as good as it gets. Any future tutorials will be in HD though I promise :)

  • since you are very helpful im going to show you a secret just tell people to add this to the end of the link of the video and then to press enter

    [CODE]: &fmt=18

  • i can't understand why tutorials need shitty music. my head aches

  • That's personal opinion, but if you don't like it, then just mute it. If you don't like silence, then stop complaining or go find another tutorial :)

  • i solved the problem by putting Pearl Jam on winamp:) good tut btw

  • awesomee ..... isn't it:D

  • Can u pls show us how to combine this to a real world using boujou? Or Any 3D tracking software

  • I havn't tried yet but it should be the same as anything else you would show, like a teapot or whatever, but instead have the fumefx showing.

  • btw good tutorial

  • what software is best do you think?

    3dsmax 9,ac3d, cinema4d, blender?

  • I've really only used 3DSMAX so far so I would probably have a baised view. Although I do know blender is more of a 'hobby' program compared to sometihng like max or cinema4D.

  • Blender is Great! But hard to learn all it's functions.

Water is so nice and array animations also! and if you see Elephants Dream ou can see what can be done ;-) but im also more comfortable with 3ds max maya or Truespace 7.6

  • thanks man!

can you givve me also the settings for a good nuke bomb because i've a shitty notebook now(i'm waiting the core i7 without a decent pc lolz)and i cannot test too mutch!

    Plz continue making fumefx tutorials!!!

  • Sorry, I havn't experimented much with getting a nuke like effect. If you just want a mushroom cloud then that might be obtained by animating the temperature values from low to high to low again for an emitter, but I'm not sure.

Perhaps making a nuke will be the next tutorial ;)

  • i've tryed something (but my pc is too slow in rendering!)with this settings looks like a nuke but needs a lot of modifying:

    fast temp.increase for explosion

low heat dissipation during explosion, raise after

    fire create smoke

The explosion looks like a nuke mushroom but need to be fixed,it's not done;if you want try it it will be fun!

  • I completed your explosion tutorial and now I'm starting on this one... lol

This is a lame question but when I move something it doesn't show the red, blue and green arrows. How do I get them to show up?? Thanks again. ^^

  • That's not too lame of a question, it can easily happen and the axis are an important thing.

Just press Z to get them to show up again. Its either that or X, I'm not sure which one it is, lol.
