Great video. I grew up across the tracks from the old station at Waconda Rd (north of Salem) from 1970 to 1989. My mom and brother still live there.  I have seen trains this long ro longer several times over the years.

When I was a kid the line was operated by Burlington Northern (before they merged with Santa fe). They ran alot of trains on that line. I miss the old BN green & white paint scheme.

The most I've ever seen was 4 engines at once... they are rare nowadays, I with one exception in February 2009 (which I remember mentioning to you in fact), I haven't seen them frequently since 1997...

ya that is a pretty long train. Once i was camping up on a ridge that was basically directly above the tracks and it was cool because the trains were heading into a city but were still going really fast. Though one at about midnight a train was bookin it into the city and suddenly the conducter pulled all the breaks and it came to a screaching halt scaring the shit out of everybody
