  • Moviegoers of the 1920s hardly knew who Louise Brooks was. The Idea of her as 'queen of flappers' is a myth and matching her with Monroe is unfair.

  • Maybe not "queen," but she actually was very popular, enough to have her face on several movie magazines of the 20s. The average person of the late 1920s knew her as a Paramount star and she even inspired the '29 comic Dixie Dugan.

  • Wonderful montage!

  • Sexy, sexy flapper girl!

  • @vintagesugar82 Britney would be the closest.

  • Today youngsters have Lady Gaga I think it's the same entertainment venue style,vintagesugar82. But I wish if they like Gaga I wish youngsters would open their minds to a different era and enjoy the beauty that was there.

  • @ziggycat999 I'm pretty sure you mean Britney. Way closer than Lady Gaga.

  • She was classic..a true beauty!

  • An actresses with one of the most iconic looks there has ever been. Very cool and VERY sexy.

Nice collection of images this, 2elvislovers. Thanks.

  • At least one male lover!? She was a seriously serial shagger! And she was proud about it!

  • Only just discovered Louise Brooks. She was very beautiful, and from what I have seen, a very very good actress

  • @partyhat3 Yes, she was not only pretty, cute and beautiful and super sexy, she was very smart and very professional too. And much later, she became a writer.

  • I love Louise Brooks too.

    --------Ellen

  • beautiful

  • this slideshow is the cat's pajamas...

  • haha, the bee's knees.

    she's beautiful.

  • beautiful lesbian woman

  • You're an idiot, Jor

  • Now, that's not entirely fair to Jor. Although, she did not indentify as either lesbian or bisexual, Louise Brooks, like many famous female actresses of the day, had her fair share of lesbian encounters. Including a one-time fling with Greta Garbo.

  • don`t you know she was a lesbian? it isn't an offensive. i'm sorry if i hate you. you can read her biography, it's very intersting.

  • As Lucchin said, she had lesbian encounters, but far be it for you to assume she was a lesbian when she was married twice and had at least one male lover.

I assumed you were being a troll and that doesn't seem to be the case, so I apologize. I think you're just mis-informed. Brooks teased with the notion of her homosexuality, sort of like David Bowie and many college girls.

  • by the way, she was lovely!! you can read a book which title is "greta & marlene" or something like that, so nice.

  • @jorelam She was not a lesbian.

  • Great job! I loved it.

    ------Ellen

  • She's so sassy!

  • Very Good, you missed the one of her in the "Buff"

  • She is the first modern woman of the new age.

  • If I were a beautiful "Hollywood Star" of that any other era...I wouldn't want to turn old in the public's eye either.....I would want to be remembered as I was........Bette Davis for one was an example of what age can do.......

  • Hard to believe she ended up living and dieing in relative obscurity here in up-state NY. Quite right, many have tried but none succeeded.

  • There's not been another one like her.

  • Great looking girl, a beauty, A real woman.

    Great video.

  • Oh my gosh what a babe!

  • What is the music in this video?

    Good video

    =)

  • The Charleston Theme.

  • She certainly was a beauty, by the standards of the 1920's and today. Thanks for posting, and for the music.

  • Beautiful Tribute to Louise Brooks!

Good choice for pictures and music.

    Thank you.
