First time i saw Daryl live was on a Jean-Luc Ponty tour. Incredible tone and phrasing. JLP opened for Renaissance. Boy was that a mistake in the ordering ;)
He is a phenominal player, I only wish Genesis allowed him to play more guitar during the shows...less bass. He is a far better musician than Mike...thought Mike is a great writer.
This guy Kicks ass!!!! Why do so many people bash him as being a horrible replacement for Hackett???? I mean, he's not playing his own music first of all!
And that anthony guy (from the CAS tour) was indeed a da repplacement for Steve, not this guy! & one more thing, His In The Cage solo is one of the best solos i've ever heard!!!

What gets me is the way Collins et al have kept Stuermer way down 'under the decks' whilst raking in the piles of cash.
Whilst not being the biggest Genesis fan I did go and see them at Montreal in 2007 and was very impressed by Daryls guitar work.
Mr Stuermer, the effects and Collin's 'showmanship' were the stars of that show, rutherford and banks were just dead wood.
Collins et al, got hold of a golden goose, and off and on has been milking it for the past 30 odd years
They should be ashamed.
