I can't believe anyone could dislike Roy's "crying." Have people lost their minds? I can understand that maybe you don't care for this sort of music but to dislike it? Come on and get some class! These people ears are probably ringing from the noise that people try to pass off as music now days. It is the only way I can understand why they can't recognize the exquisite voice of Roy and his sweet melodies. NO ONE LIKE ROY!
We thought he'd gone to the country radio station and back then, Ernest Tubbs wasn't exactly our favorite so we didn't listen. Roy Orbison has been in my heart for the past 50 years so when he emerged with the Traveling Wilbury's I was happy to hear him again. In the 70's we had tickets to see him in Syracuse - got there and the concert had been cancelled for lack of interest. We were stunned - of course everyone knew how incredible he was - or did they?
I'm now in my sixties and I'm still as in awe of this man as I was when I was 13, This song was the epitome of young love at the time - we just waited for his next song to be released - song after incredible song, each one as good or better than the last. He made u want to learn to slow dance, go to school dances, play his records at pajama parties. He was absolutely everything to all of us and then he just disappeared.......
@Beck9476 Well,he never acually went away but I suppose other inferior acts became more popular. That's the way of the world unfortunately - look at what youngsters are listening today. Roy Orbison was a one off genius of which we will never see the like again. These songs can still move me to tears they are so beautiful.
Crying is my favorite song and Roy O. is my favorite artist of all time. I was fortunate enough to see him twice before he died. It was as close to a religious experience I have ever had!
guy was a true gentleman. seen him in windsor, ont., lido tavern by the salt mine entrance.my dads band was the matinee band(SUNDAYS,.WEDNESDAYNIGHTS) chatted with me for 10mins.,told me my dads band was great and brought the house down. thank god for fans
This is how I felt after my first love left. I told her and everyone else I didnt care about her anymore but down inside I always called myself a liar and covered it with alcohol and whores...
I understand hopw you feel, i just turned 19 today and i do the same thing since i have had this broken heart 2 1/2 years ago. I sometimes wonder when the thoughts will go away. but i know you have way more experience than me. But deep down inside i care for her still, but on the outside. i hate her.
yep yep yep soooo true u can say this over and over again!!!! big boys do cry to and ill always love you and u know that its u who left me remember and me who keeps hanging on to a hopeless dream i guess :(
It always makes me happy when I see comments from teen-agers who can appreciate the old pop songs that are so far removed from the current sounds. You just can't beat 'em. They're eternal.
@infiniteobscure age does matter!! Most kids doesn't acknowledge great artist and songs but this kid did! I'm 35 and this song is GREAT!!!! HOW OLD ARE YOU???? Let me guess...2?????
I have loved this song since I could understand music. He's is flawless....his voice has power, the power to make emotions rise and tears flow. Thank you Roy.
remembring the 1st time my heart was broken...i thought this song summed it all up...but love blooms again...still an awesome song by an awesome singer...
Roy was an opera singer kidnapped by rock&roll. Anyone who has lived in west -texas where he grew up can imagine him developing his voice, trying to out-howl the coyotes crying at the moon. Elvis once said " I'll never get on the same stage with him". Orbison's voice in rock&roll was a legend even Presley respected . Roy had many problems in his life, the cry of his songs may have been his own cry.
Oh,how I love his voice! Thank you for posting the original version,I prefer the real thing,or at least what I am used to listening to. I'm definately NOT one for cover's or too many live versions of song's. I've just noticed you & I have the same 1st name, great mind's think alike, huh?!!!
...back and forth and back and forth, I listened to Roy and Jay Black.....I love them both...generally I prefer Jay's version of things...but really , they're both flat throughout the song and they both strain on the last high note and lose their vibrato....just sayin...doesn't matter, I still think they're both just brilliant singers..
i am in the deep country of Egypt cannot find someone to share me my love of good music and songs. so here i am
