@00AnnaMolly Hi again! You are right, it is a long process! And poikanen can be used for a boy and is just as grammatically correct as tyttonen! Poikanen= pieni poika, small/young boy ; tyttonen= pieni tytto, small/young girl. However, linnunpoikanen= a hatchling. And sometimes, kissanpoikanen, although it should be kissanpentu= a kitten. Never koiranpoikanen, though! That is koiranpentu= a puppy! Go and figure it out! Mutta kiitokset multa jalleen hyvasta tyostasi!!

I may be wrong but I think there are some mistakes in Finnish lyrics. I didn't find the right lyrics on the Internet, but I'm pretty sure it goes like that:

@00AnnaMolly You got it right!!! Kiitokset! If you are not Finnish, you should be!! Just NOW saw an extra e in tyttoseen (should be tyttosen)! That extra e can take somebody's mind into garbage! Tyttonen / tyttosen = a young girl/ woman. Tyttoseen = inside / into the tytto . Auto = a car / autonen = a little car = autosen / just about the same as before / autoseen = inside / into the car! Sorry that I cannot explain this any better!! It is all about grammar and I'm getting old! Great Job!!!!

@finnchick59 Well thank you for the explanation. I'm still learning finnish, I didn't know that the ending -nen may mean "little/young" in 'tyttonen', I thought about something different. Thank you also for saying "If you are not Finnish, you should be!! " I will remember that :) I'm Polish, but I love Finns and Finland. I wish Ville would make more songs in finnish.

@00AnnaMolly These endings, like "-nen" are the most difficult things in finnish language. Finnchick59 said well, but it is not all of the story. Sometimes it means nothing but a decorated synonym for word with that adding. In this case there is a strong meaning, and yes, it means young girl (at least from tellers point of wiev), but also very special, cute girl that the teller is attracted to.

I have studied and can speak a few languages, but out of all the ones I've come across over the years, Finnish has really captivated me with it's spoken sound, but it has blown me away with it's beauty when sung. It's like nothing else that I've heard. I can especially appreciate it after I did a project about Finnish folk music for a World musics class. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful languages that I've ever heard.

Nice to hear nice comments about Finnish language. I shed some tears when hearing this song. Has been a long time when since, and it might be Tapio Rautavaara then. It has so beautiful sad melody and somehow unusual. Lyrics take finishing the job. You just cannot hold emotions! Maybe we finns need extreme sadness in songs to get out from our emotional shell.
