These people are mad. They waited for who knows how long for a flight from Dublin to Shannon and they could've gotten a train from Dublin to Limerick which only takes two hours.
@nwlondoner9 Have to agree with you. Waiting forever at Dublin airport for a domestic flight and Ireland is not so big that you have to use a plane to travel across it. They would've saved a lot of time and money by taking the Intercity. At Heuston Station there are 16 departures a day to get Limerick from 7am to 9pm. Dublin to Shannon by plane is €68 one-way and Dublin to Limerick by train starts at €10 one-way. To travel like that when there was a faster and cheaper option is just lunacy.
@carlowgirl88 It takes less than two hours to drive from Dublin airport to Adare, so the fastest and easiest option would've been to rent a car at Dublin airport and drive to Adare.
hello there i thought there is direct flight from Dulles to Shannon as well but no hmmmm....you took Dulles to Dublin but i really thought there is shannon as well but anyway did you enjoy Ireland trip?

@nwlondoner9 You seem more upset about the fact we had a layover than we were, and it happened a year and a half ago. And we're the ones who are mad?

@Aviationnation10 What choice do they have now? All domestic routes in Ireland have ceased apart from Dublin/Kerry.
So now the options are:
1: Take a Bus Eireann Expressway bus direct from the airport.
2: Take a train from Dublin.
3: Rent a car at the airport use the motorway.
I'm glad there are no more domestic flights as Ireland is not big enough to be using planes to go from one part of the country to another.

They could've flown to New York or Boston with Jet Blue Airways then got a direct Aer Lingus flight to Shannon.
Or they could've taken an Intercity train from Dublin to Limerick.

The package we got just happened to fly into Dublin and connected to Shannon; there may indeed be a direct flight. But we had a blast!
