  • Every line of this song is a killer.

  • I wonder how it feels to have changed the history of music.

Too bad they didn't know when to stop.

  • 1:37 - 1:43 LOL WHAT THE FUCK?

  • colin is really groovin the fuck outta that base! - better than the studio version.

  • I love how Jonny can make playing the freaking xylophone look cool.

  • @henkiewessel some band on there album aswell :P

  • too too sad it makes me ache

  • I have been so lucky that they have played this and Exit Music at every single Radiohead concert I have been to. One of my top 5 songs for sure :)

  • I think the dislikers had just got linked here from their live performance of There There, as I have been. It's hard to beat that.

  • 9 people in the world can eat my shit

  • @smarttty *10, now they can evenly divide it between themselves :D x

  • @smarttty So your aim is to make people eat your faeces for having an opposing opinion to you?

  • @IsniperXseanI a reasonable request, i believe.

  • @IsniperXseanI He raises a good point though

  • @smarttty 11 people now!

  • to the 8 that dont like this f**k off

  • badaa badaa baddaa

  • 1:34-1:50

    What the fu...

  • @q0zi that was awesome!

  • @MaghoxFr How did they divide by zero??!?

  • @q0zi if you divide by somthing that's almost zero you get an infinite, that's what they did here I think :P

  • @MaghoxFr Well then...

    I ♥ Radiohead / 0

  • 8 people didn't like this: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the vocal harmonies on this one top the album.

    great stuff

    P.S: Thom Yorke is a freakin´genius!!!

  • 8 no hopers......................

  • excelent emtional song

  • yeah..the british bands are the bests...^-^

  • radiohead muse thing is boring, the only thing they have in common is two great singers

  • The backing vocals at the end are too quiet :(

  • I was 4

  • Dejen de comparar a Muse y Radiohead, ambas bandas son geniales

    Excelente tema!!

  • sick shades thom

  • Beautiful.

  • I tend to forget all other bands while listening to radiohead. And thats what great bands are made of. Forget the world around for a while.

  • q linda cancion

  • 7 people whose ears dont work U_u

  • If there's life in another planet and they listen to Radiohead and Oasis they will think we are perfect beings

  • chiming melody by:

    Ed O on rickenbacker guitar

    Jonny G on xylophone

  • amazing song....

  • Lyrics are beautiful xx

  • i think it's about making the choice between 'a quiet life' and doing something more, like 'bringing down the government'. i think this person has chosen 'no alarms and no surprises', but is regretting it... despite having 'such a pretty house and such a pretty garden', something's lacking in their life...

at least that's what i think it means...

RADIOHEAD FTW, their songs have so much meaning

  • @50feetintheair you are totally right, in the CD version, while thom sings "no alarms and no surprises, please", in the back you can hear: "get me outta here"

  • The homosexual camera man films every musician except the lead guitarist actually playing the melody.

  • this is the sadest song in my life...end of erasmus....(you have to see the french movie "L'auberge espagnole") love

  • @RVrock66 i know the song is in that movie, i saw it in House M.D., AMAZING , i always wondered about that movie

  • thom looks like bono a bit here. gulp

  • Absolute perfection! Even better than on the album

  • awful sunnies thom!

  • @jimzer the man wrote ok computer. he wears what he wants.

  • @TheBuzzlightyear1234 valid point bud. but still :]

  • @TheBuzzlightyear1234 Not the whole Ok Computer...The Tourist is Johnny's song

  • @0armin0 I think (I'm not sure) that they all contribute to the music and Thom writes the lyrics alone on every song. But naturally different members contribute at different levels on every song.

  • @Thedahdumdum well, "writing a song" basically means coming up with the backbone of the song which is usually chord progressions or a melody line or a riff or something. and Yorke has been sited as the primary song writer. of course the rest of the band does a huge deal and deserves just as much credit for the sound.

  • @0armin0 I agree totally. Thom says himself that his big strength is starting something and he needs the others to help see it through.

  • @jimzer His left lazy eye always tends to annoy me. but his YORKE, HES GOD HE CAN SHIT ON YOUR BED IF HE WANTS TO, HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS

  • @TheMusicDude1997 The fact that you can be annoyed by something as trivial as the way someone's eye looks suggests you're really rather shallow.

  • @Zttbm wow you really take everything seriously :o

watch yourself or Thom is gonna shit on your bed.

  • I suppose then it is about the pathetic spinelessness of politicians, too weak to actually have firm principles instead they just make themselves into a persona that will catch the largest demographic of voters, according to their perception of what a voter wants: an apathetic cycle of fear and greed slowly devouring itself resulting in a degredation of the whole system. This song is an iron fist in a velvet glove.

  • @TheNEWBobDylan Yo man, don't mean to be impolite but... keep that political yadda yadda outta here! Were tryin' to listen to good music :)

  • @TheNEWBobDylan iauzaaaa

  • @TheNEWBobDylan No. It's just a J.G. Ballard short story in song form.

  • It's about the disappointment of how a seemingly exciting & radical labour government proved to be dull and plodding in reality, taking no chances and doing nothing radical...hence: No alarms, and no surprises...don't scare the voters away by doing anything too radical and you can stay in power.

  • @TheNEWBobDylan Except that it was written in 1995, two years before Labour came to power.

  • No Surprises is one of the Best Song in the World & The Most beatiful "Long Life To RADIOHEAD"

  • OK COMPUTER

    In Rainbows

    Kid A

    The Bends

    Amnesiac

    Hail to the Thief

    Pablo Honey

  • @eazzy93 i agree exactly!

  • someone should make a vid called "Thom Yorke through the decades",with all his different looks and styles :D

  • thousand times better than muse

  • @Rockferry2008 Fuckin A

  • @Rockferry2008 You are wrong, RH is not thousand times better than Muse just because there is not even a point of comparison... Muse?? Come on, they don't not exist!

  • @sukrat69 maybe Radiohead is better...if your not compare Take a bow, exogenesis I, II & III, butterflies and hurricanes, knights of cydonia!!! give me a break, Radiohead is great but say Muse is nothing? that proves your great knowoledge of music, you wrong.

  • @davidlara10 Ok, maybe I exagerated my passion for RH. Definitely I like RH much more than Muse, I have no doubt about it, but yes I was wrong telling that they not exist. I do agree you can say that I have no knowledge of music if I say that. Muse is a great band also, but for some reason they don't touch me in the way that RH does. RH is just magic for me, different and probably Muse have taken something of them, doing something pretty orginal. Peace!

  • @sukrat69 yes RH is an inspiration to Muse, but is nothing bad in this, The Beatles, Queen, Zepp, Who, Dee Purple, have been an inspiration for many bands around the world, i enjoy listening Radiohead as i enjoy Muse, both are great bands. peace!

  • @davidlara10 Muse are anything but a great band.

  • @Oliverware21 Lo único que se es que los británicos deberían estar orgullosos de tener desde siempre las mejores bandas de rock de la historia, así que para que pelear quien es mejor, viva la buena música, viva U.K. y viva el rock!

  • @davidlara10 Sorry I don't speak spanish very well

  • @Oliverware21 The only thing is that the British should be proud of having always the best rock bands in history, so why fight who is better, living the good music, live UK and long live rock!

  • @davidlara10 seeee uk tiene y ha tenido una de las mejores bandas.

    the beatles, rolling stones, oasis,radiohead,etc..

  • @darkcogollo20 y no hablemos solamente en el rock, uk tiene lo mejor de lo mejor

  • @Rockferry2008 comparing them doesnt make any sense. those two are one of the british "must be proud of" things they have. :)

oh and sorry for my english.

  • *sigh* the many faces of Thom Yorke :P

  • Love this x

  • OK Computer

  • wow, I've never seen the sunglasses before but I am totally diggin the glockenspiel action here!

  • I want to see them live when they place this and sing bring down the goverment

  • What do you expect will happen?

    Riots?

  • Where can I get the sunglasses that Thoms wearing....COOL MAN!!

  • This was number one on a list of the most depressing songs ever. I mean "a handshake of carbon monoxide"? Wow.

  • best version i've seen ever

  • radiohead is a damn good live band!

  • amesiac and kid a are the best ones

  • definitely

  • My impression of it is that Thom is singing about living your life without anything notable in it and just being happy with mediocrity, which I think he sees as a waste of life. Hence "No alarms and no surprises please"

    My favourite RH song, amazing

  • the 'get me outta here' bit at the end puts shivers in the spine!

  • hes talking about killing himself.

  • Nope... :P

  • okay, hes talking about life being too routine and having NO SURPRISES..

  • More talent and genuine relevance in one second of Radiohead than all of PHONY U2's career.

  • Beautiful. Radiohead ... I say thank you for this peerless music.

I saw a U2 compare down the commments ... sorry, that is a surprise ... U2 music has a sell by date ,,, Radiohead dont - no offense meant.

  • why is it bad to compare this band to u2? both are amazing life changing bands, both have given so much to music, they both deserve to be in the top 100 bands ever made.

  • 97' ah.

  • Them sunglasses are quite the Bono right enough

That should be the only time you ever mention them in the same sentence though

  • Thom looks a bit like Bono from u2 .... No offence :)

  • omg sinc eim liek such a huge radiohead fan i take that as personal offence and im going to flame you for trolling.

    ...;)

  • dont you mean bono's glasses look like thom yorkes?!?

  • wonderful!!!!

  • RH+ in BLUE

    I like ThaT

  • grosos !!

  • aaaahhhhmazing!

  • O único momento em que me doi ter o cabelo meio ruim é quando eu olho pro do Jonny

  • T.T LA KAGAA!!!!

  • thom with glasses. He looks like a traditional british scholar in this way.

if Thom was my english professor, how good would it be.

  • impresionante !!!!!

  • ed's choir is the best

  • agree spanishnavax , the sunglasses only....better music!!

    I 'd really aprecciate that.

  • Awesome !

  • im in love wiv tom yorke now loooolz

  • yeah i used to think radiohead was just whinny music and thougth they sucked back in the day (15 years ago). now that i;ve actually spent some time listening to them, they are absolutely amazing. i listen to this song to get me to sleep some nights haha

  • Jonny Greenwood eres mi idoooooloo

  • Only Jhnny can rock the Glockenspiel

  • jajaja yeah!!!

  • me encanta !!!!

    amazing

  • rh is the greatest band of all time

  • so true man :D

  • I'll admit im not a big fan of the most recent album (In Rainbows), but everything up to it, yes even Amnesiac, their supposed poorest selling album to date has been love at first listen.

They've come this far and worked too hard to be labeled as just some throw away band with hype driving its popularity. Sure there definitely is a stigma to liking them, usually portrayed as conceited, self involved hipsters and most might start off that way but trust in me in the end the music trumps all.

  • The new album is well good! Miles better than Amnesiac.

  • amnesiac has some really good songs, if you give it a chance.

    pyramid song

    you and whose army

    i might be wrong

    life in a glass house

    like spinning plates

    are all notable.

  • @PrimusClambake

    Nobody cares.

  • agreed

  • I love Radiohead, but there's to much hype about them, from personal experience most radiohead fans I know just like them because it makes them sound deep, great band but I think half the people that say there the greatest band ever don't really understand them. Also whats with dissing other forms of music, so people like rap, so what?, it's music there is skill to it just like Rock to Latin Hymns, musics subjective, so get over yourself and enjoy it for what it is.

  • i know everything about this band from every angle

  • They're actually a really deep band. I mean their music is really hard to get into, and I don't enjoy many of their songs to be honest; but once I got into the other ones, which is quite a lot of them actually, I knew that they are one of the most amazing bands out there. So, in the end they are really a GREAT GREAT band, and for that some people may even consider them the greatest band in the world, nothing wrong with that.

  • Sounds like someone's jealous of other peoples personalities.

  • @damndirtyRob Now, at 2010, I'm sure - YES! I'm 35.

  • eternally sisyphus you right ,i totally a fucking gree with every word that graces ur lips

  • My favourite band by an absolute mile, I think Thom was at his peak during the writing and performing of OK computer, not to say hes at all bad now XD

  • I think they were over their egos during OK Computer.

And you can tell by how pure and natural their music is on that album. I agree, I think that was one of a couple peaks

    (in rainbows is fucking great)

  • I really like all radiohead´s performances at jools holland show, thanks for posting

  • does anyone feel sad at all the piece of shit generic twang chord yellow telecaster bands out there ruling the charts in the UK right now?

fucking hacks. radiohead are the fucking masters, all these new bands are total crap and are a disgrace to music. even a band like oasis, a band which i kind of like, but not much, have some sort of musical merit and sincerity.

all this new shit out is just fucking arctic monkey clone fast riff bullshit with less meaning than a piece of shit

    radiohead ftw

  • i dont get what ur saying about arctic monkeys.

r u saying that they're good or that they suck?????

  • Arctic monkeys have great lyrics, if you pulled your head out of radiohead's arse you might know that there are tons of bands today writing great music.

  • A heart that's full up like a landfill, a job that slowly kills you, bruises that won't heal. You look so tired-unhappy, bring down the government of mexico they don't, they don't speak for us. I'll take a quiet life, a handshake of carbon monoxide, with no alarms and no surprises, no alarms and no surprises, no alarms and no surprises, Silent silence. This is my final fit, my final bellyache,
  • i hope that sing this song in chile!! ..please..for cry !!
