@ba4774 it's not the fact that she didn't do ballroom. it's the fact that she's used to learning choreography and letting her body fall into rhythm, regardless of the type of dance she's doing. sure she has to learn an entirely new type of dance, but because she's been performing for so long, she's got a slight edge over the rest of celebrities. the only rhythm that kate gosselin's had to follow is the rhythm of her feeding cycles for her kids.

If the viewing audience didn't want to see people who were physically fit, had musicality and were quick learners, they would have been voted off. It really is unfair, she has to learn choreography for her music videos/concerts even if she isn't a professional ballroom dancer. So she has immense practice at memorizing steps, controlling her body - arm movements etc.

it's a bit unfair, because most of contestant have no clue about dancing ( they're actors, singer, reality tv stars) and her job is to dance mainly , so you cannot compare. i don't think they should take dancers ( or at least people who dance for a living) as contestants for DWTH, it's unfair

It really is unfair, she has to learn choreography for her music videos/concerts even if she isn't a professional ballroom dancer. So she has immense practice at memorizing steps, controlling her body - arm movements etc.

They've had trained dancers competing on this show from the beginning. Stacy Keibler's start in professional wrestling came as part of a dance troupe on the old WCW Nitro TV show.

I have natural rhythm, but I could never do this. It takes more training and technique, whether she's been in music longer than anyone else there, does not matter.
This is different than music video dancing

it's a bit unfair, because most of contestant have no clue about dancing ( they're actors, singer, reality tv stars) and her job is to dance mainly , so you cannot compare. i don't think they should take dancers ( or at least people who dance for a living) as contestants for DWTH, it's unfair

I guess each year they cast at least one contestant who has a clue about dancing : Melanie Brown, Mya...They gotta keep it entertaining also for viewers who are dancers and performers in their daylife. But I'm in awe of the casting this year: Pam, Nicole, OchoCinco.... Great job, ABC!

People forget that its called Dance With The Stars, regardless if she knows how to dance the instructor is dancing with a star. Everyone complained last year about Mya because she knows how to dance

She has definitely had dance training, no one is that good without having years of training. I would guess she has at least studied ballet by her posture. Not to mention how clean her arms are. She looks amazing though, glad she is on this season she is so entertaining to watch.
