Her answer was not intelligent. She started off by saying that she thought it was great that people in America can choose who they want to marry, and suddenly she changed her opinion.
It would have been different if she said "I accept homosexuals, but I think marriage should be between a man and a woman"
Perhaps that was her point, but now she just sounded ambivalent.
She goes from applauding democracy to explaining her personal beliefs. That is not a change of opinion nor is it ambivalent. It's an appreciation for the fact the we are free to choose out own path, as guaranteed by our rights and freedoms, to recognition of the fact that her personal opinion on the matter isn't going to effect that basic liberty.
Many people in our democracies would prefer the totalitarianism that is Sharia or philosophical communism or libertarianism and are very appreciative of that fact that they live in a democracy where they can have, and share those beliefs.
While I agree with you that that scenario is the epitome of false logic it on no way reflects Carrie's statement which was that she was proud to live in a place where everyone has a choice although the subject at hand wouldn't be her personal choice.
Another example: I think that the indoctrination of children into a religion simply because of a familial connection is ridiculous and completely undermines what spiritual faith is all about but I can also appreciate that parental rights far exceed my personal opinion.
u can disagree all you want but the fact that she stuck to her guns and was unafraid by sticking with her beliefs im for a man and a woman but i cannot jump peopel who are for same sex marriages the same way without being an asshole? the U.S. is serisouly hypocritical now adays
It's not really just blonde hair, either. I have been verbally attacked for being brunette by a couple of my blonde friends (granted, this was many years ago). "We have more fun! You're just a loser!" This was probably in early middle school, and it still burns in my mind. Making fun of someone or harassing them for their hair color is just a horrible thing to do.
I'd like to think so! lol But nowadays, I get called those things because I don't do drugs, drink, party, etc. If that's what it means to be cool, I'm much happier being a loser. But I digress... :P
Even though I disagree with Carrie Prejean of course, but it's dusgusting how she is being treated right now. She has her opinion and has the full right to belief what she beliefs
Carrie Prejean's opinion vs. the opinion of Perez Hilton just isn't a fair competition in my mind.
Carrie appreciated that in North American society we have the right to believe what we want. Perez, on the other hand, was of the opinion that everyone should believe as he believes.
it was how she felt i do agree with her because i was raise that man and woman only should be married its how kind of the system works and thats how u start a family!
the guy that ask her that question over reactied, if hes gay that not really going stop him from being the person he is and not going stop him being with his love one.
No, because I know I'm neither a racist nor a sexist. I can't be afraid of being accused of something that I'm not. But I know that being in favor for equal rights for everyone means defending and standing up for things that people may not normally stand up for. Like this.
You make a good point. Remember, there are crooks on both sides of the left/wing paradigm and its not just limited to one side. I might be conservative as you think, but I am quite liberal enough to not censor freedom of speech and I am intolerant to people using euphemisms or me using euphemisms because people shouldn't be censored for whatever reason. I'm what you call "liberally conservative".
Hmm... I don't very much agree with the fact that Ms. California said "We live in a land where you could choose same sex marriage, or opposite marriage" because the way I see it is that shes labeling sexual orientation as a choice, then again, I didn't agree with anything she said, or why she said it, but hey that's just me. lol
Perez Hilton is fucking douche. well i do think she was a stupid brainwashed christian cunt..... but hearing Christians play the blame game and cry for religious freedom makes me laugh. If anything people like her deserve this.
well i heard people made fun of her, not because she's blonde, but because her parents sued each other because they were gay and lesbian and sued each other for affairs with the same sex while she says she was raised in a family who does not support gays
Getting back to the topic of the video, the discrimination I have encountered in my life surprisingly comes from other females. One in particular loves to flaunt the fact that she has a law degree and I am a mere paralegal. She intersperse this fact, especially when she thinks I am getting too much praise or attention for a job well done :(
Do I think this is because I'm blonde and she is a fat frump? Absolutely...lol
It's so depressing to know that females give each other such a hard time when they are already competing for jobs with men who may be less qualified, but are more likely to advance in the system simply because they are men.
Carrie Prejean was most graceful, and showed a tolerance for others without compromising her principles.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. (Mat 5:3-11 <--- sorry I had to throw that in :)
The Prejean/Hilton controversy exposed social injustice exist on many different levels. I think the main discrimination in that debacle was an instance of such prejudice toward christian principles.
Perez Hilton isn't exactly a person endowed with transcendent mental superiority, nor is his agenda driven by objective truth. He knew such a loaded question would result in an immediate and crucial effect striking at the heart of a matter.
YOU ROCK!!! Thank you so much for making this video. I was actually being facetious when I suggested you make a video about blonde discrimination, but I am flattered you took me seriously.
What does her being blonde have to do with any of this? Where are you getting that impression from? If she was a brunette you think that guy wouldn't have reacted similarly? Really?
Something tells me you just wanted to appeal to this friend of yours and this is the best you could come up with. Come on man, I've grown to expect a bit more from you. This one was weak.
Sorry for being a bit harsh, but you like honesty, right?
I think she was treated unfairly. More than likely it had to do with her being a beautiful woman, and I don't think being blonde helped. No, you seemed to miss the point. If it were a man, the media wouldn't have reacted the way it did. Barack Obama basically said the same exact thing she did, and he didn't get railed on for saying it. I like honesty, but I don't appreciate you saying you expect a bit more from me, or accusing me of appealing to someone. You're wrong, plain and simple.
I guess I did miss the point. I thought this video was about "Stupid Blondes", not the treatment of women compared to men.
So, as the title suggests, explain why you think her being blonde had anything to do with this, or change the title to "Stupid Beautiful Women". I still maintain that a brunette or a redhead would have gotten the same reaction. Yes, a man might not have, but I don't think that was the message you were trying to get across. You say at the beginning this is about blondes.
On YouTube, usually it's wise to pick a title that is eye catching, and short. It's for practical purposes mostly, the true meaning of the video is the video itself. That's the point, you have to watch the video in order to understand the message I'm trying to convey.
Like I said, I think her being blonde didn't help, it just exacerbated the problem.
Did she answer it intelligently?? She gave no argument. She said this is what I belive. OK why do you belive this & why would you say it is wrong for two people of the same sex to be married? This question should have been put to her. Which answer could she give: Only the Bible says so. Suppose I said along with the KKK or Arian Nations: I do not belive that a white & a black or asien person should be married. I have the right to hold this belief. But it cannot be rationally defended.
So holding the belief that it is not right for two people of the same sex to be married. You would have to state a logically valid argument stating how this would hurt or damage an innocent individual. If you cannot state such reasons. As you could forexample against a marridge between a 40 year old & a 12 year old. Then it is just discrimination against people you dislike for emotional reasons. So since miss California has no reasons WHY she thinks it is wrong. She has no right to it´s immoral
Thank you for this. :)

I don't see the logic in that

Think, "Live and let live" eroz99.
While she personally would not engage a homosexual marriage she also isn't going to prevent anyone who wishes to do so from doing so.
