We had parakeets before we got our conure. I didn't realize how much different they are intelligent wise. I still love my parakeet though. :)

Very cute. I have Green-Cheeked (Cinnamon Mutation) and it is amazing how intelligent they are. He is an escape artist and figured out how to get out of his cage and open other birds' cages from the outside so he could visit them. This was in the pet store that we purchased him from, now he is in our home, the only bird, but he still likes to visit the other pets (two rabbits) by flying to their cages and occasionally preening one of them.

Very sweet! I have 3 green cheeks and none like to lie on their backs:( I believe green cheeks are worth way more $ then they sell for...they are intelligent, fun, cuddly, lovable, and very funny!

Most birds will never lay on their back, it is the most vulnerable position for a bird. Bigger birds aren't as phased, they have those big beaks after all.

Some birds will happily lay on their backs, other birds would rather die before laying down (My Conure won't, but my Lori's love it - we 'wrestle' - fingers vs claws, tummy tickle wins!). Just enjoy your bird for what he/she offers, and enjoy their own personality.

conures are amongst easiest birds to train on there backs because they actually accasionally will sleep on there backs . it comes natural to them so getting the trust down is all it takes

Wow, my conure and all the birds I have ever had (which is a lot) have all hated being upside down. Either you have a rare exception, or your conure is very uncomfortable in this video, but refuses to fight back because it's so tired!

um no its not a rare bird at all... conures sleep on there backs thats how it is.. and so that bird obviously trusts him so is not uncomfortable.. maybe your breeder sucks ass . or maybe your not good at watching your bird. i dunno dawgg

@lisacleverley Conures are a little bigger than lovebirds, and they have a wayyyy longer tail :D They are closer in size to cockatiels xD

@lisacleverley love birds have stunted tails :) but body size is pretty similar. that is one content happy loved bird you have there! thats a real sign of trust as they feel that their most vulnerable on their backs :) well done x

@lisacleverley Lovebirds are a bit smaller. I have two conures now. A cinnamon green cheek, and a fancy green cheek, but growing up I had a lovebird, so I've been able to compare. There isn't a HUGE difference, but still

@lisacleverley i have a Conure like yours named Ozzy and a Lovebird named Cupid and Lovebirds are smaller then Conures, probably about 3-4 inches smaller... maybe more, i havent really seen the two of them together since Cupid HATES Ozzy...
