  • great cheers

  • cleese has lost his wonderful sense of humour

  • @DeadJesus100

Did you watch the first half? The guy is still hilarious.

  • The part he's speaking german: 2:55

  • mr cleese is the perfect british gentleman.

  • I can kill with an egg spoon bats

  • can anyone translate what paul said in german please

  • @blobby1972 Actually, you can't really translate that, 'cause it seems like he missunderstood some of the words. If I had to write what he said, it'd be "Ich bin dein Forsgesgus, ich lieber eingestellt." -- which doesn't make any sense at all. I do believe, the phrase he's referring to is: "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt.", which is a song by Marlene Dietrich (Translated, it would be kinda like: "From head to toe, I am prepared to love." Sounds way more poetic in German, though.)

  • @EverybodysDarlehen thankyou for taking the time to translate .very nice of you ;)

  • He tells these stories all the time, they never get boring.

  • John Cleese seems to have a fantastic memory!

  • i prefer paul o'grady to jonathon ross, who just interrupts his guests the whole time.

as for john cleese, his name will live throughout comedy history.

  • i noticed that too, paul will let the guest talk for as long as they need to get the story out all very relaxed. with Jonathan you have to be changing directions all the time and on your toes, not easy at all.

  • Cleese says töten like a real german speaking person. it is amazing.

  • @matthijs8702

It's really not that hard to pronounce correctly...

  • I saw this live!

  • *lol* Paul's German was kind of sweet - sounded like he tried to pick that one up phonetically, and came up with his very own interpretation of Marlene Dietrich's 'Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt' :D

  • i have a t-shirt with john cleeses face and it says don't mention the war

  • @laurareeve14 WHERE DID U GET THAT?! i want one :)

  • @Charapova100 at a t-shirt market in cambridge :)

  • @laurareeve14 Have you went to Germany wearing it?

  • @noyearold

I've got the same shirt and I'm german :D

  • "Ich kann mit einem Eierlöffel Fledermäuse töten. - Wirklich?" rofl

  • is that how its spelled out? Im swedish, but have german blood and I have read german like 10 years ago, I know dead is tot, is it töten when grammar gets in the picture? are you german maybe?

  • Yes, I am. "töten" is "to kill", it's the verb belonging to "tot". So, grammar kind of got in the picture... :-)

  • cool! :D and yes, "verb" was the word I was looking for but could not remember. ^^

  • JC is so cute when he blushes. LOL!

  • Thank you for posting this program. I love this show and can hardly ever find anyone who uploads it on Youtube.
