Could you send me a diagram of that twinkling led madness. I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to install it in my bass guitar. My address is : blashko@wp.pl
Beautiful guitar, make sure you label the guitar at the antilosta website just in case you loose it one day, I have all my valuables labeled with antilosta and recently had an expensive camera returned back to me after having lost it away from home in one of my gigs.
I thought the flickering would be too distracting and also add too much circuitry too a guitar, so for my brother bass I used a 30 SM LED ring light rated at 12 v, running to a box containing a lithium 9v with switch attached to his strap. It works really well, and looks brilliant at gigs.
would it be possible for you to make thee wiring and set up for a telecaster and send it in the post to the United Kingdom through ebay and i would buy it ???? plz respond
Hey i was wondering what u used as a transistor......like how did u make the LEDs switch on from the low current from the pickups, ive made a beat sensing circuit like this before, but it was for my mp3 player so the current would be stronger for that.
I'v been wondering if it would work if i would put a led strip to my guitar body with sticker or something and then power it up with 12v battery and put the battery somewhere like the floyd rose back panel, theres just right size room for the battery. thanks in advance :)
i am also currently doing this, i do it very, very simple: a thin copper wire goes along the neck, touching all frets, then that wire goes into the body, goes through a couple of leds, the battery and is then connected to my bridge, this way, you close the circuit by fretting a note, the only thing however is that they wont light up with natural harmonics, but i dont use them that often, so that doesnt matter. (i might put up a video;P)
holy cow....that is awesome! I'm trying to get ideas for my explorer that I am rebuilding and bringing out of retirement....I really enjoyed the video....and the guitar is INCREDIBLE...great job..hope you build more.
@bobylite100 I'll chime in and say if you wanted to you could build the same thing but use a piezo sensor and a pot for the sound source and attatch the piezo to whatever drum you would like to activate the circuit. For multiple drums you could use multiple sensors and wire them in parallel and they would share the same set of lights. Or build separate units for each drum. Just a thought.
@DavidFrom209 Haha well, I'm glad you liked the video and had a good laugh at my name, I'm from Ukraine, it's a common name there. It's fairly common in Slavic countries as well as Greece.
I think im going to re-do my new york pro with 2 humbuckers and a single coil in the middle, and i want LED's on the fret dots that light up the LED(s) near the fret(s) im playing on, and around the humbucker/pickup like yours.
oh and btw, I would LOVE to see the schematics in there.. I'm guessing you used a switching transistor (mosfet?) connected to your guitar-output and a resistor to limit the current from the 9V?
@HennoxLane Actually i used an IC, but if I were to use transistors I would have to go with a BJT because it has much greater amplification capability as compared to a mosfet (FET)
@imicius when the LED are off the battery is completely disconnected, when the LEDs are on they only require about 160mA of current so they last a very very very long time
Would it be possible for something like that on my pick guard and not have anything drilled through my guitar?? It looks amazing, I want my guitar to glow like that.
yo wats up my names mike im big into makeing my own guitar i curently have lights on my guitat that i made in electronic cuz im in a trades school and i can build pretty much anything i know you dont wana give away how you made it but can you tell me what component like is it a microfone photodiode motion senser like what is it then i can build a circuit around it just email me back through utube thnx so much Constintine
Im designing a guitar right now and I'm looking everywhere for these led lights that react to your strumming I see yours are custom, My Guitar is going to have an Irish theme, so i'd need green LED's, got any tips?
Can you make each string light up for whenever I play it instead. actually can you make each fret light up when I fret it. thnx pls send me schematic asap
haha yes, the'll probably try to hunt you down in Colorado, boy are they going to be angry when they find out how fictitious you really are. I'll pray(have a short jam) for you.
Give me a few days, I will borrow a friend's guitar hero guitar and see how hard it is to do something similar and then I could tell you the price. Where did you want the LEDs located, in the neck, the headstock or the body?

Thinking 2 EMG 81 actives for the bridge and neck, and maybe a EMG S1 single coil , that or a Seymour Duncan single coil.

Dude sick. Much brighter then others. I wonder if i can do that with my Fretlight? Can you do other colors?
thebtompsonexpress 2 years ago
Thanks :). Any color is possible, I just chose white
kdubovenko 2 years ago
Sweet. My Fretlight has red leds in the fretboard and matched up with you led system in red would be sick.
thebtompsonexpress 2 years ago
white is one of the most power consuming led colors
blue white are the same thing, a white led is actually a blue one with a yellow filter.
and uv leds consume the most power
so if a circuit can be made using the white, it can use any color, with the right resistor of course XD
