Okay, upon reading everyone else's comments, I'm glad I'm not the only one who shed a tear over this scene. I rolled my eyes at all the Jon & Kate controversy so many times, but seeing this just hits home with me...my youngest sisters are 5 and 10, so that's probably why, plus as someone who vividly remembers childhood and the fear that any petty arguments would cause my parents to divorce, my heart aches for any pain these kids may have gone through.

I would want the kids off the show if I was Jon. All those media attention will ruin those kids' lives eventually.

It's too bad. Kids need parents to make a good decision for them until they can on their own.

They started the show because of financial reasons. It seems reasonable in that way, but once you've made enough money from filming, books and all sort of different things and you know that it is or will be unhealthy for the kids, you stop.

@5morts the mistake would have been for the kids to see them fighting and being angry at each other. Getting divorced was the best thing for everyone, the kids deserved more than what they were getting.
