The Ref's did what they were supposed to do, I love how stupid some parents are at games. They teach them that if there is something out of control happening to go in at a safe point as to not harm themselves or anyone else. I think they did a great job dealing with the fight and whoever told people to lay off the ice staff I applaud.

The referee stays back to note all the penalties while the other linesmen was placing a player in the penalty box. This was all done properly according to procedure. Also if those kids start stuff they should be able to finish it. tell your mother to put a sock in it also because if it wasn't for those refs your kid wouldn't be able to play hockey.
They would have you and your mom out there refing the game and i'd love to see that happen you probably wouldn't know what to do. The second that first fight hit the ice, they should have been broken up, and taken to the box. If four more fights happened, then great it is the linesmens responsibility to take one fight at a time. and key work SEPARATE them. at a baseball game I was at the same shit happend with a fight and parents freaking out...they make the situation so much worse. @goLEAFSgotc17 Thank you for your reply however, you are wrong.. I have played hockey, but that has nothing to do with what the referees job is. The second that first fight hit the ice, they should have been broken up, and taken to the box. If four more fights happened, then great it is the linesmens responsibility to take one fight at a time. and key work SEPARATE them. The referees did not do their job, and that is why I made the comment I made. You obviously have never refereed before.

@playinghockey28 I know you wrote that a long time ago, but ive been playing hockey since i was 7 aand im 22 now and ive seen lots of fights in my games and the reffs looked to do the right thing, i dont know why but i think reffs have been taught not to jump in the middle of the fight like that and wait for their opportunity, but you would probably no better then me.

@eastenderticats14 The referees in this situation did no do the right thing.. Because the second that those kids hit the ice, the fight is over. Period. The linesmen just sat their watching one player get pounded. That is how injuries happen, officials are out there to prevent them. It is a complete disgrace. Anyway, I am over it..

@playinghockey28 Yeah im a referee as well, but you can not say that it is one of the most difficult jobs in the world. Its real easy for the parents to point fingers, when really they should be conducting their children in a better manner. Im not saying the refs did a good job in this video, but as a ref i can say that it is not easy to do that job.

Ok so if their is 10 players (meaning a possibility of 6 fights) and 3 refs.. well actually 2 cause the head ref isn't supposed to break up fights.. and referees are stressed not to go into a fight alone. im a class 2 ref and ya if a fight breaks out u let it go but when it hits the ice especially for that long u stop it u dont just watch them roll around and give them time to get back up if they wanna fight long dont fall cuz once u fall its the ref's responsibility to stop the fight and in thi9s case it definitly should of been broken up the first time it hit the ice

at a baseball game I was at the same shit happend with a fight and parents freaking out...they make the situation so much worse. My favorite moment in my situation was after the fight an angry dad tried to storm the ice after the ump and a coach knocked his ass out...these pissy whiny can't hack it on the ice wannabe parents need to shut up and deal with it...if you cant take the pain then get your ass outa our game!

The refs job is not to jump in here. If these kids want to fight then you let them go until they're done. These are minor hockey refs. They do not get paid to jump in between charged up YOUNG ADULTS...
