  • Big enough gap between rest and work piece for a finger. OUCH

Wearing a ring and touching the spinning wood with that hand = no-no.

Otherwise a decent video. But when aimed at beginners, safety should be more prevalent IMO.

  • excellent info thankyou

  • Great, thanks! Now i know how to use that very sharp tool :D

  • what size skew is good to work on pens? I hope you could answer soon.

    Thanks

  • 13 mm

  • I still need lots of practice with the skew. I get dig ins on a regular basis. Thanks for the demo.

  • Nearly broke my wrist with a dig in. Even when it worked, it left ridges in the timber .Chucked the skew in the bin. Dangerous tool. I use a gouges a parting tool, and scrapers now. And yards of sandpaper. Just takes me a little bit longer to get the end result.

  • Thank you for this. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how you're supposed to use the skew until I saw you do it.
