I saw Death Sentence in Montreal in 1988. The best show I ever saw. The drummer had a crazy bass drum that looked like a cave or like it was melted. Fuck they're good.
Both albums are now available on one cd- can't rmember the name of the label (too lazy to go look) but you can find it at the Skull Skates website (that's also kinda the label)
my dad was the bass player of this band, im listening to one of the last original pressings of not a pretty sight on vinyl right now. its so heavy, i love it, but i guess im a bit biased haha.
@elichallenger: During a show in Kitchener in 88, your dad broke a string and cut his finger IIRC. They had to stop for a bit and they asked the crowd if anyone knew how to play bass. A guy volunteered and the only thing he knew was the simple line to Peter Gunn, which the band played along with and the whole crowd actually sang along the part that would normally be done by horn. It was a pretty amazing vibe with the interaction of the whole place.
@469jasper i agree too BUT I also love many Canadian punk bands like No means NO and SNFU and from Calgary-beyond possession!! who I saw in london in the 80's at Key West where my band Stiff Kitty played a few shows...we opened up for the Uk SUbs and Briken Bones and the next gig would have been Circle Jerks and Seven Seconds!! but we broke up before that happened too bad!! Still I have several Live Kitty shows from '88 on video I should upoad them!
They've finally released "Not a pretty sight" and "Stop killing me" together on cd for the first time. They've had to take it from the vinyl because the master tapes are lost but it sounds really good
I've bought the single from 1982 in barcelona a few weeks ago. And saw this record on a market in barcelona, but didn't buy it because it was from 1986. Now I'm sorry. Damn
remember death sentence had a video on much music, and it was as if the singer was trying to sound metal or something. I was horrified at the video, and I think that someone should try to transfer the album onto cds and sell em online ( not a pretty sight )
I do Have a way that people who want the album can get it just PM me if you want it, because its a really rare cd and id like to share with other fans
jeeze louise! were you in the fucking band? or what?
as far as the singers Sellout is concerned .....I can name 50 punk bands that didn't wimp out so go to hell, "im right your wrong!"as joey shithead would say! death sentence craped out plain and simple, little pimple
Ihave been on the search for death sentence stuff for 20 years now. fuck that was hard. I have 1 release of them about 8 songs...did they put anything else out other than the one?
They Only Did have two albums, ... Not a pretty sight which has 11 tracks but on the back of mine it says some are bonus tracks, but not a pretty sight was their last album due to Pete Cleaver passing away in 1997. although they did have a Reunion about 2 years ago with doug donut and i believe the rest of the original band.
hmmm sounds like I have the first album rcmp, death squad, and about 6 others I cant think of the names right now. was the other one as good as the first?
This has been flagged as spam show

Remember them opening for virtually everyone in 85/86
They were fun
Also remember seeing the singer one morning after a long acid trip in Stanley Park
Not surprised he's dead
