I had that problem where L2/R2 button seems to be pressed, but isn't. I fixed it by choosing "Xbox 360 Controller Emulator" in the profiles list instead of PS2/PS3.

@walkerd555 one solution is to go to your ds3 tool, and switch the controller mode to Playstation 2 (POV,joysticks) with no analog triggers. Then go into your Xpadder and add the triggers as buttons. That's what I did and it worked

Thanks for the video, just reinstalled win ultimate 64 and needed a quick guide to set up my controller again and this worked great. The versions were off some since this was in oct 2010 and its dec 2011 but that was no problem as it only made me take a few more seconds to look over everything to make sure it all worked. Overall great vid.

I shut down the DS3_tool.exe, unplugged the controller, plugged it back in, and restarted DS3_tool.exe. This time it recognized my controller, but the buttons were a bit off. The analog sticks seem to work for the most part but the two lower shoulder buttons aren't working properly, and still no vibration...

@spankyquigman Dont install the driver he downloaded. just click the one that shows up, Also, set your ps3 controller if that is what you are using to 360 as 99% of the games on pc will not recognize the ps3 controller and since they both has the same map of buttons it will work flawlessly. The ds3 tool should also make you restart your comp after downloading the driver it has set for you which should then allow you to use the analog and so forth. If not, you didn't follow along with vid.

Hey I'm having a bit of a problem. My controller kinda spazzes out and will send the signal that I'm pressing a button repeatedly when I'm not. For instance, If I open xpadder to look at the controller layout, it'll show that I'm constantly pressing one of the triggers. So if I open up my browser and click on a text box, the text box will write "ttttttttttttttt" as that is the button I assigned to the right trigger. Any fixes?

all the buttons work except for the analog sticks. Right analog stick Y axis is inverted (I never made it inverted) and when I move the left analog stick in a certain direction, not only does the character move in the certain direction but they also look up or down depending on the direction. As I said, the L1, L2 and R2 buttons weren't working. For anyone interested i fixed it by changing the "type" or whatever to a PS3 controller instead of PS2. This kinda fucked up menu navigation though. In game it's perfect, but in the menus some buttons got switched around and shit.

Better solution:

Buy an Xbox 360 controller. It works right out of the box on both the 360 AND the PC.
