I remember playing Betty my senior year in high school. So much fun! i love playing Southern women. My inspiration for Betty was a mix of Betty White's (Rose) character from Golden Girls and Estelle Getty's (Sofia) character from the same show
Why the fuck is everybody so pissy about Ellard? And characters shows in general? You are not entitled to speak SO condescending to someone you don't even know over the internet! Because that's all you are, somebody over the internet.
Look i hate to be an arrogant prick, I REALLY do, but I could Ellard circles around this guy, and my friend could Betty circles around that chick. And we're in high school. Sorry.
@Beat0Geek i like how this guy did Ellard and for you to say that makes me unsure about your performance, the audience loved him, you can here them laugh, and that is what matters. lol humble my friend, you must be meek if you ever wish to inherit this earth. lol I am playing Catherine Dec. 1-3 lol !!! so excited!!!!
Mine was way better id say.Ellard wasn't mentally challenged,he was just goofy. But I watched it in Arkansas so they could do the country accents really well. And a small thing that doesn't need to be mentioned but that I will anyway is in the one I saw Ellard was on the left and Char-ooh-lie was on the right.
Whoa. I'm at a loss for words. I just finished playing Ellard at my local theater and... it wasn't quite like that. The Ellard I portrayed seemed more like Jethro from the Beverly Hill Billies. This one seems like the offspring of Forest Gump and the guy from Slingblade. Just a little hard for me to believe that that kind of dialogue is coming out of that kind of a character. He's a half-wit, not mentally retarded. The Betty seems like she's from New York haha.
Hahaha, excellent! I had the privilege of playing Betty my sr. year of high school (last year), which was an amazing experience. My school got several nominations for a community theatre award of sorts (one of which I won!). Great job!
Excellent job on the part of Ellard and Charlie. I played Ellard once and had more of a Lenny from "Of Mice and Men" approach to it. I liked the personality your Ellard had.
Stick with this video of a funny scene...the "four-work" section is the pay off. Memorable performance at RVP. Thanks for posting - I'll go to it whenever I'm feeling a little low.

This cast is very distant from each other. They don't mesh together at all.
