@AdvancedGentleman If your not a fan shut the fuck up and go somewhere else. Samuel Dalembert is a good solid center is valuble to any team you put him on he is worth the contract
@lefthookD I am a fan and he is not worth that much money, dude plays 24 minutes a game and gets the most money on the Kings roster. The Kings were stupid to pay him that much. Sure he is valuable and a decent center, but not that valuable.
@TheBanksAllBlack haha this is one of the only highlights videos i've found of him. He's supposed to be a great shot blocker and finisher at the rim. Sounds like our version of Tyson Chandler. He should be able to stop the Bulls from getting offensive rebounds from us, sounds like a much less compettative Eastern Conference Finals.

I love this guy. He honestly is the most modest player in the nba. Most of the money goes to his homecountry. There are only a few players left like Dal who doesn't care for the money like vince carter, and tmac. He is good here in Sac and his shot improving.
Welcome to Sacramento! A veteran big man that focuses on defense and rebounding and is also tough! Oh and we got rid of Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes! Good job Petrie!
mad haters on this page... a lot of the money he gets is taxed and plus he's prob got bills to pay... another thing its not his responsibility to save haiti 100,000 dollars is a reasonable amount of money to donate to anything
This guy makes $12 Million dollars a year and only donates 100,000 to Haiti (his home country). That may seem like a lot, but consider it's only %0.8 of his paycheck. What a shame.
Well if i am honest, everyone would have done that in his position. because the only way to get to his financial position is to have that sort of personality so you can't complain
Ultimately the way he got to that financial position was due to his basketball talent, not his personality or greed (although those two play a small role).
The bottom line is that he donated a wee little tiny fraction of his massive income to his home country. Actions speak louder than words and by doing this he's saying, "I care more about maintaining my lavish, king-like lifestyle then giving back to my homeland".
well then explain to me why everyone middle class person on the planet can complain about the way 97% of celebrities use there "unlimited" cash. there is obviously a link between becoming extremely rich and not wanting or not being able to give it back. although 100,000 is still alot
Of course other celebrities waste a ton of money. If you support celebrities by paying your cable bill, buying a dvd, going to the theater, going to a concert...etc, then it makes no sense for a person to complain about someone else's lavish lifestyle. Personally, I rarely do any of the above.
Yes $100k is a lot. But you have to put it into perspective. If you make $25000 a year, it's like donating $200 to Haiti! Do the math!
That's a generous donation for sure from an average person. However, this basketball player is from Haiti! His home country is in ruins. People are starving and walking around in feces.
i am not saying less should be done to help the people of haiti. i am saying that nor you or i can understand the physcological mind state of someone with so much money. and even if someone did donate 1,000,000,000 to haiti, you still need to convert that into physical actions. which is ofcourse impossible
I don't think it's that hard to understand the mind state of someone who's rich. Look at all the billionaires out there; bill gates, warren buffet, t-boon pickens, donald trumph. Once they became millionaires you think they were satisfied? No. You can never have enough money. Look at warren buffet, he's an old fart about to croak and he's selling trying to get more money!
Obviously I don't know what it's like to be a billionaire. Just because we're not rich doesn't mean we cannot understand others who are. Just look at their behavior. I think being in the right place at the right time accounts for peoples wealth most of the time. Did you know the high school Bill Gates went to was the only one in the country to have a computer during his time? What if the same Bill was going to high school in some poor, rural town? You think he'd be a billionaire today?
That fact came from a PBS Documentary on the history of silicon valley where they interviewed Bill Gates and asked him how he became interested in computers.
I'm not comparing Gates to Dalembert. Please re-read my last comment. The point of that fact was to show that being in the right place at the right time has a lot do with wealth.
Well no shit sherlock, he could have ended up with another company and that company could have sucked! Duh!
Why don't you go read so you can actually have some reading comprehension skills instead of watching TV. While you're at it learn how to make an argument. I feel like I'm talking to 15 year old C student.

@clnmike idk if u saw but chris paul got his shit swatted by dalembert. sammi is a pure defensive player he has like no offensive game he can sort of run but thats it
I see what your point but i see little difference between him and Okafur who is not as atheletic, and a better defender then Chandler is. I think he would be a step up on both sides of the court.
i like Dalembert and i know he's better the what ive been watchin for the last 2yrs p.s. i miss my boy kyle korver i wish he would come back we could use a 2nd 3pt shooter on this team but he's hurt so maybe next year
He's a good player; we just gotta stop counting on him for offense. He's a poor man's Ben Wallace. He'd be a great sixth man. How about trade him to Detroit with a pick or two for Rip?
And as I said, people can have duo citizenship. Why should that stop them from repping Canada? and ignorance because: "I apologize I didn't realize that you had turrets. "
I don't think you understand that a person can have citizenship of 2 different countries. Samuel Dalembert has two citizenships. He may have born in Haiti, but he was raised in Canada. Therefore, he is both Canadian and Haitian. I also don't know why you keep arguing with me. I said,"Canada Represent!" , which maes sense, because he's representing Canada. And this has been a friendly argument, you don't have to go and insult me.That's why I called you ignorant.Stop attacking me with ad hominems.
People who immigrated from Africa who has a American citizenship are African Americans too. And when you have a citizenship of a country, you pretty much are considered part of that country. I'm not denying Sam of his Haitian status, but he's still Canadian and still a representative, which was the whole point in the first place. I don't even know why you keep on arguing this.
No, you aren't Italian. But if you are born in Africa, and then you get a American citizenship, you are a African-American. That's why, my first post is credible. Dalembert may be Haitian, but he's still Canadian. Just like Nash is. And if you represent Canada, then my "Canada Represent!" post still makes sense.
Exactly. Canada Represent. As in he represents Canada. Steve Nash was born in South Africa, but he is still Canadian. And a person can be two different races. Dalembert is a Haitian-Canadian. He can still be Haitian, yet Canadian at the same rtime, thus still a Canadian representative. Once again, your post has been irrelevant. And insulting me? How ignorant.
Ok, well technically, he IS Canadian. Canadian citizen and Canadian born have the same legal status. And what I meant was, I never said he was Canadian from the beginning, so all of your posts has been irrelevant.
No, you said he's Haitian and nothing else. And i said Canada Represent, not anything about him being Haitian or Canadian. If he has Canadian citizenship, then I consider him Canadian.
dalembert and andris biedrins are the two most underrated centers in the nba. ive seen dalembert play and practice live, and people dont realize how unbelievably athletic and mobile he is for a man his size. he runs the floor better than any center in the nba. he doesnt have the makings of a dominant player, but hed make a great roll player for cleveland, cause big Z aint gettin any younger, and he really should play less minutes.
he is dominating at H-TOWN!!

i am not saying less should be done to help the people of haiti. i am saying that nor you or i can understand the physcological mind state of someone with so much money. and even if someone did donate 1,000,000,000 to haiti, you still need to convert that into physical actions. which is ofcourse impossible
ronmagenta95 1 year ago
I don't think it's that hard to understand the mind state of someone who's rich. Look at all the billionaires out there; bill gates, warren buffet, t-boon pickens, donald trumph. Once they became millionaires you think they were satisfied? No. You can never have enough money. Look at warren buffet, he's an old fart about to croak and he's selling trying to get more money!
jpmorgan187 1 year ago
can i ask you.
how far away are you from being a billionaire?
exaclty
you don't understand
ronmagenta95 1 year ago
Obviously I don't know what it's like to be a billionaire. Just because we're not rich doesn't mean we cannot understand others who are. Just look at their behavior. Most of the time, once you're filthy rich you just want more and want to keep it all to yourself. But sometimes, rarely, a rich person gives back. This basketball player gave back. But it was drop in the bucket and he falls in the former category. End of story.
jpmorgan187 1 year ago
but the fact people have more money than you is because they have a different mind set
ronmagenta95 1 year ago
How did you come to that conclusion? You think Sam Walton's sons who inherited billions got rich "because of their mindset".
Samuel Dalembert became rich because of his physical talent not because he sat around thinking about how to get rich.
jpmorgan187 1 year ago
And how did he become physically and technically gifted.
his mind set.
motivation is how people get rich
ronmagenta95 1 year ago
is that the only factor?

of course not.
but if i was born and my childhood had the right components with the right formula, i could end up with a personality that meant i could do things if i wanted, i was so motivated i could suffer now, to gain later. that is how athletes become rich

I think being in the right place at the right time accounts for peoples wealth most of the time. Did you know the high school Bill Gates went to was the only one in the country to have a computer during his time? What if the same Bill was going to high school in some poor, rural town? You think he'd be a billionaire today?
jpmorgan187 1 year ago
and did you know 4 out of 3 facts are incorrect. you can't compare dalembert with bill gates though

but we are talking about dalembert.
anyways, that fact explains microsoft not bill gates
ronmagenta95 1 year ago
Lol. Bill Gates founded microsoft and microsoft made Gates rich. For all practical purposes, they're the same thing.
Do you have anything intelligent to add to this conversation? If not, I'll being digressing.
jpmorgan187 1 year ago
bill gates could have ended up with another company. your fact proves why bill gates was intrested in computers not why he is an amazing buisness man.

No, you said he's Haitian and nothing else. And i said Canada Represent, not anything about him being Haitian or Canadian. If he has Canadian citizenship, then I consider him Canadian.

He's born Haitian, but he's a Canadian citizen.

dalembert and andris biedrins are the two most underrated centers in the nba. ive seen dalembert play and practice live, and people dont realize how unbelievably athletic and mobile he is for a man his size. he runs the floor better than any center in the nba. he doesnt have the makings of a dominant player, but hed make a great roll player for cleveland, cause big Z aint gettin any younger, and he really should play less minutes.
