  • I go to the Az Renfest every year and I was lucky enough to have seen them play. They were great!

  • TARTANIC! God, bagpipe music gets the blood up, WHERE'S MY CLAYMORE? I need to go find Englishmen to slaughter.

  • i was there!!

    =]

    they rock!

  • I can't believe 4 people hit the dislike button.

  • @Urmom882 5 now sadly :(

  • Texas RenFest is better! :P lol. and the largest... of course ;)

  • These guys rock, wish they were still together for the sake of the music and fans :(.......

  • @LordSoar i saw them today at the michigan renaisannce festival.. still alive and kicking!

  • @LordSoar Um..they are still together. They have different band members but Adrian is still around and so is Mike and a few of the others. I just saw them 4 times this year at the AZ Renfest. Tartanic.net is their website.

  • I love these guys!! I was lucky enough to dance for them when they were down in ALT this summer!! I love them!!

  • God, they ROCK!!! Wish I could hear them live more than once a year!!!

  • Find out what the song is called

  • @czestawa i think its sack of stones, ill ask them though.

  • i could say "i was there <3"

  • Awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I actually went to school with Adrian in Houston, Texas. He was just as devoted a performer in everything he did back then as he is in Tartanic right now. Great guy too. He's never met a stranger

  • ROCK ON TARTANIC!

  • does anyone know the song played on there web site at the begining?

  • i have a picture of the band leader's underwear, one of the band members took my cell phone and as a joke, he pointed it up the guy's kilt !! XD i still gots it and plan to keep it!

  • @Minyadagniriel What???They were underwear? Ahhh what a disappointment. :-/

  • @waitingfor22

    i know right! XD

  • Tambourine drumm is called a boudran

  • they guy with the tamborine drum thing his name is Adrian and he is thr founder and the leader of the group.

  • accually they didnt split up they got new guys...they guy with the tamborine looking drum is still in it but the rest of it is new guys i watched them yesterday they were cool :D

  • i guess i can see why someone may not like these guys, but for the musically open minded this is actually quite fun. Bagpipe purism is fine, but one can only listen to Scotland the Brave and Amazing Grace so many times before trying to strangle the nearest piper.

  • It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are an idiot rather than opening your mouth and confirm it. How can you say you are open minded then come out with THE typical stereotype repost. There are thousands of bagpipes tunes all across the spectrum of music and that is before I even start on Piobaireachd. When you hear so called bands like this I can understand why you would like to strangle them. Rip off merchants.

  • These men are the Crusaders AC/DC celts.

  • I'm sorry, but this doesn't do it for me. Is their newer stuff better than this?

  • Worse!

  • I have some of their new stuff on my page :o)

  • Absolutely horrendous. Cultural homicide at its worst. I am so glad they have split up as they look like Village People rejects on speed.

  • Trying to get attention are we?

  • No, just having an experienced opinion on what is an absolutely horrendous racket concerning the Great Highland Bagpipes.

  • haha! Best review ever! :D Awesome!

  • This is why they ROCK! Whis i could of seen them in a pub and got trashed with em CHEERS!!!!!!!!

  • Nice music.

  • The Tartanic that's been playing at the Michigan Renn Fest have been amazing. Adrian is such a great guy, and I can't wait till they come through again!

  • Comment removed

  • I posted the same band, really enjoyed them. Check out mine, it's very different from yours. I like the sing and dress better in yours.

  • I'm very sad to hear they broke up. Great tunes and very entertaining. Whelp....Gimme a pint. The demise of a great thing deserves a farewell.

God bless 'em and may he grant the fans a reunion someday.

  • When did they break up ? They were still going strong in Az this year.

  • I've not got a reason. I've not seen one posted either aside from the implication that it was time to move on. That happens. I would be curious about some more detail...While I'd not want to intrude, I'd say I and other fans are curious.

  • I'll try to e-mail or write them to see if they broke up or not.

  • They did break up, I was at their last performance. I hear one got married and decided to settle down, one turned into a gigantic asshole, and one just didn't want to do it any more.

  • Yeah, that's wht I was thinking. Oh... Things in AZ just won't be the same...

  • I don't know what's going to happen at Texas Ren. Fest this year if they broke up. They always bring a huge gathering with ALOT of energy as soon as they start playing. It just won't be the same without them.

  • I loved watching these blokes too. They did quite well at the Arizona Ren Fest. My heart's a bit less into that festival. (Though the Tortuga Twins and Dead Bob will be fun, Tartanic was part of my big 3 for that place.)

  • I concur. Ded bob, tortuga twins and the square dancing in the big grass area right of the entrance inside the fair

  • They were AWESOME! I saw them today at the Texas Ren Fest .. amazing : )

  • You saw them!!! I thought they broke up... We are going the last weekend (plus that Friday) and I'm so glad you told me they are going to be there. Thanks so much.

  • It's not the same members (besides Adrian) but they're still freaking amazing! They released their new CD yesterday (Uncivilized) and it's the greatest thing I've ever heard.

  • So sad you guys are no more. Need a fiddler?

  • These guys are really cool. I love the RF in AZ!

  • i live in az and i love the ren fair

  • COME TO GERMANY GUYS <3

  • Exactly! I'd love to see them live here.

  • I love Tartanic. I watched them perform at a pub on St. Patty's day. I finally got one of their shirts! YAY!!!

  • The band featured in this video is still around and is called Teribus (sans the "front man"). The "front man" uses the name "Tartanic" for his own project and is not connected or affiliated in anyway shape or form with Teribus. You can find out more at teribusmusic dot com or read the details on tartanic dot com. Richard and EJ also make small pipes, highland pipes, and medieval great pipes.

  • It's actually Tartanic dot net :-)

  • No, it is not. Richard Kean, E.J. Jones, and Kevin Hartnell have a band called Teribus. They have nothing to do with Adrian. TeribusMusic dot com is the website for the musicians in this video. I should know...I'm in the band. Thanks and keep YouTubin'! :-)

  • tartanic, teribus i think its two sides of the same coin because they are called tartanic at the Tex renfest

  • Teribus did not play at TRF. That would be the "front man's" new project, something that Teribus is not affiliated with in any shape or form. For those who wish to seek out EJ, Richard and Kevin, Teribus is what you look for. Have fun!

  • they were back this year! i just saw them today! and they have 2 new pipers

  • these guys were my role models. i will miss them. But like they told me tartanic will live on through the hearts of the fans.

  • Tartanic was at RenFest 2007 in Texas!! These guys fuggin own

  • Odd... According to the website, they stopped in April of 2007... I saw them August of 2007 at the Bristol Ren Faire in Wisconsin and it was definitely these guys. I'd recognize that guy in the burgundy shirt anyplace.

  • Is it true Tartanic will not be at Ren Faire after 2007? If this is true this really sucks, i saw them yesterday at the faire for the first time ever. Herd them from across the park and i couldnt help but approach and listen with a smile and goosebumps. These guys rock and i will go to every weekend during 2007 just to see them.

  • Wooo!!

Sack of stones. Probably my favorite song by them.

  • sigh.....ADRIAN! my sexy piece of man...ok not really mine, but we have a nose connection:) lol.....i miss him like crazy!

  • I miss them like this so much! It will never be the same... :(

  • yea stuart was awesome

  • Just saw them last year at the Festival! Wicked!!

  • I saw these guys ONCE! I'm so upset....i love bagpipes. TARTANIC WILL LIVE ON IN OUR HEARTS!!!

  • Y eee aaaaaaaaaHHHHH HHHHHH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I miss Tartanic! I only got to seem them twice (both times at Eureka Springs), and I wish I'd seen them at a Medieval/Ren Faire "in their element" - But hopefully they'll one day decide to set aside whatever it was that broke up the original band, and get back together and entertain us all once more. :)

Until then, I thank Rabbit17m for the vid and the reminders of the good memories.

  • They HAVE broken up. What you see on that site is essentially nothing more than a Tartanic cover band capitalizing on the name. See tartanicDOTcom for more information.

  • they have NOT broken up - Tartanic is at tartanicDOTnet - The band lives on!

  • I love Tartanic, and it's so sad that they've broken up. :-( This is one of my all time favorite songs by them...

  • Yes, it is. He's also involved with Clandestine and Teribus.

  • hmm... is that EJ from The Rogues band?

  • RIP Tartanic, 2007\

Guys you rocked the ruddy world.

    Frankentaru

  • I LUV THE AZ FESTIVAL! THESE GUYS RULE!

  • If that's true they're breaking up, then that is sad - they are awesome. Now I will never get to see them :(

  • i saw them today! its so sad... theyre breaking up! :(

  • thanks for vid.. they sound awesome

  • WOOT yes I loved these guys!
