@ozdave1990 This technique is effective no matter the strenght of the one putting the headlock.
The twisting motion of the defender puts the arm in a position that does not allow the attacker to have a solid grip anymore.
there are positions in wich one cannot use muscular force, so using this principle, you put the attacker arm in a position that allows you, to make him feel pain just with a small amount of you weight of pressure on the joints. :)
gotta love all the critics......all things are useful if applied in the right situation with the right follow up....take all things as possibly one day useful instead of criticizing and learning nothing..these things teach movement.....
@232323C I think its better to know something rather than nothing, I still think it's important to register if a move would most likely be ineffective in a self-defense situation.
We got the same picture of Jigoro Kano in our dojo

JOhn is such a great teacher. He was the truest of the badasses in his fighting days and can still kick it now. Great human being.

@TheRealAxelFury used it twice? Twice somebody has put you in a headlock since learning the technique. Where do you live?
I hasten to add I respect the martial arts, there are both good and bad teachers and good and bad techniques.

@19grand The first one was in an aggression in a stupid bar Brawl as a customer 8i neither started or joined the brawl, someone just jumped on me!)
the second one in another brawl but this time my role was the bouncer :)
