Loved this Song growing up in the MOD revival in early 80's and dancing to it in local youth club. A SOUL boy now but a young MOD at Heart. Had the Parka with target on back and loads of The Who,Jam,Lamberetta's,Jam,Purple Hearts,Secret Affair .... Little shop just of Hemel Hempstead Market had a roaring trade with little buttons and ties and mod accessories then of course a trip up to Camden....Ahh the days,
Thanks mate, was a mod in the 80's (i think we all still are in our hearts) i remember me n' my mates dissecting the lyrics of this to work out what to wear, even though we were too skint to put petrol in the Vespa 50cc special we shared, never mind buying a zoot suit. Keep it up,
@redjam3 Ah hell, yes - as old as I am now I still lean towards "mod-style" when I pick shoes, shirts and trousers ;p Some things are there for good ;p
@xenoxiq i'm long in the tooth myself but i still have items of clothing from the glory days, Jam shoes (Going Underground video) Spats (or Badger shoes) 2 boating blazers and one three button suit (black of course) suede on the jam shoes have seen better days though. An inspirational era that is best described as The Who album quote "a way of life".
@redjam3 Hehe - I still have a boater, a trench mac and an authentic parka too. Maybe one day if my stomach isn't in the way I'll try them on again ;p
@xenoxiq I had a US fishtail parka, really wish i held onto it and a cream trench mac, i've got the same gut problem, if i tried to get into my three button suit now there would be a ballistic issue with paramedics recusitating a guy with a 'no-button-suit' and forensics fishing buttons from the wall.
@redjam3 HAHAHA! Very nicely worded mate ;p My mac was that military green most of them were - had a mate with one of the blue ones, but I don't ever recall seeing a cream one.
As sad as it is to say, this song is a shameless rip-off of another song! The song is called "Misery", and it's by a group called The Dynamics. Go look it up, it's on YouTube.
@modsheff1 It's a terrific number, this. The sound is so similar to The early Who period generally. I'm surprised that more people aren't aware of this track from the early days at the Station Hotel, Harrow, and its namesake in West Hampstead come to that.

Perfectly fits in with the whole "face" thing, doesn't it?
No wonder this band captured a whole fashion/way of life with lyrics like those.
