  • Dont you get really hot with all those layers? even in cold areas, when u like climb something like a mountain, you create a lot of body heat?

  • that's like 500 to 600 $ worth of stuff. good video though

  • MUCH better than some of the others I've just seen. Thank you. One thing though? Doesn't down tend to lose its insulating ability if it gets wet?

  • an expert village video that's actually HELPFUL!?!?!? Amazing. Good stuff.

  • i like to wear steel braided pants.

  • Good Basic knowledge! Thanks

  • For some reason i like jeans and a t-shirt better.

  • I prefer wearing silk next to my crotch.

  • @mightydyckerson LMAO so random

  • Hello there

What is your opinion on Fleece Vests as mid layers? Of course they are not as effective as a fleece jacket as far as thermal efficiency, but still; Are vest any good?

  • I ONLY recommend wool when hiking in cool/cold conditions. You never know when you might end up in a survival situation and if that does happen, wool is your best friend. Fleece is warm but nothing compares to wool!

  • were cotton die

  • Did you really count it? That's depressing. You need to calm the erm down fella. Simmer down now. Simmer. Down. Now. Why freak out? Who cares? I want to see you present without saying one "filler" word. Go ahead. Do it.

  • is there anything expert village cant do??? so far if learnt to play the mandolin and now thers this. gotha love em lol

  • LMAO!! too tru

  • mountain climbing is not a sport... its a lifestyle...

  • nice videos man.

  • awful choice in boots. Modern hiking shoes made by Merril with a vibram sole are better than those big, heavy, leather dinosaurs of yours

  • you obviously haven't done any real sports or hiking then... or.. you just dont'sweat. Cotton aborbs your sweat, and if you're in the cold while you're swaeting - that's no good for your thermoregulation. I like smartwool for my baselayer. Cotton has it's place, and it isn't on the trail.

  • obviusly you don't even know me, and actually, i do not sweat so much.

wtf are real sports? never seen climbing mountains as a sport!

  • haha. im not saying it is, although, rocking climbing is concidered a sport.

  • Cotton kills. Write it down.

  • I'm against cotton... read my post again..

  • I get it. I was backing your position.

  • I knew that...haha. That's right, though, make a list, write it down, do whatever you have to do people.. cotton kills.

  • For beginners it might be important to indicate the different needs for different seasons. For summer camping you wouldn't need the down jacket and you could get by with a lighter weight fleece jacket. The parka could also be substituted for a lightweight alternative.

  • good job, thanks for reminding me to not bring cotton. i`m saving money to be come a beach bum 4 a few years, and any short, sweet, good info rules, aloha!

  • great info

  • Super! Thanks!

  • This video has some good information. A good summary.
