"Beta" is a greek word, so say it like the greeks. Germans, Italians, Spanish, Americans and even the French(!) say it that way.

British and maybe New Zealanders say it with their dialect. I don't mind, but they are not withing rights to push their "more correct" pronounciations on other ppl.

@Dominian1 For anyone who is interested, the greeks actually pronounce it completely differently, with a V sound. The ancient greeks however (where we would be getting this 'english' beta from) would have pronounced it BET-A, so actually both the American (BATE-A) and British (BEAT-A) ways would be different from that. Not that it matters, but I think it's quite interesting anyway.

the thing i noticed really early, was that the monsters didnt seem to show any sign of taking dmg. and it would seem u feel like ur not doing anything when u shoot. add a kind of "aim shot" thing and add alot of blood. also u could make some fun knockback things with the arrows.

For everyone arguing about the pronunciation of 'beta', in the UK it is pronounced 'beata' (beat as in to hit). TB just uses the America pronunciation. Some people pronounce tomato differently. Now that's settled, sit down and watch the damn video.

Beta is the second letter in the greek alphabet after Alpha and before Gamma... The first stage of a game is called Alpha and the second is called Beta, when the Beta is finished the Game is generally released.

FYI I dont support the argument about pronunciation. But there is no UK or US way of pronouncing Beta.

The reason as to why there are so many English dialects is because the British Empire spanned across 2/3rds of the world during the 1800s where many new cultures learned English. Because of this, they are going to pronounce letters and words differently because of their mother tongue. It's all about culture. America is no exception.
