I think if blizzards implement a debuff for the heroics (just like icc) and then depending if the group has the debuff or not is the difficulty of the instance as well as the drop, it will fix the "easy mode heroics." What do you think?
What is wrong with backpedaling? People are so adamant that it's useless... it's incredibly useful for minor positioning movements. People are stupid sometimes.
the amount of hypocrisy regarding the Spine of deathwing exploit is amazing, for LFR exploit you stated that every guild that abused it is guilty and should be fully punished even though it was overlooked by Blizzard (and being reported to by multiple guilds)

Time Trials will be the place people get to have difficult 5 man content. When you want to grind gear you can do lfg, when you want to test yourself you'll do TTs.
I believe the main reason why they did LFG was to help queue times. How hard was it to get a 5 man together with a good tank, good heals, and good deeps.
Exploits come down to intention of the player. If he/she INTENDS to use a mechanic or ability properly it's (usually) obvious. If you see something isn't working properly and you use it for an advantage, you then EXPLOITED that with ILL INTENTIONS. In the case of LFR loot bugs, it's obvious those players intended to use it in a negative way and trying to justify it would be fairly pointless.
For the guys on the backpedel train, I ask you to watch a video of Ciderhelms, from back in Naxx-wrath days, where he describes camera movement.
The server responds VERY differently to strafing compared to backing up.
As a Tank the ability to choose between backing-up or strafing allows me to know exactly how the mob/boss is going to follow me and then I can position PERFECTLY.
You can do a lot more than you think with this knowledge, check the video for a better explanation.
Okay I do not know if anyone caught this but at around 12:39, there is a humanoid image moving from the left to the right causing a disruption in the video, then Lore leans back and you see his normal shadow while the weird humanoid image moves off screen. Lore are you trollin us? lol
Hey i have an Exploit/bug for, Priest - Preyer of mending - when u get it, get a friend, use it on him/her, stand near a fire so it bounces between you several times, and after that it should work. what this bug does is it gives you the mastery you get as holy on PoM, but with a huge buff, at lvl 70 it ticks for 1k per second after the PoM heals, at lvl 80+ it heals for over 10k every second, if you learn mastery the bugg with dissapear, i only know of 3 cases, so i dunno when they will fix it.
Don't really get the anti-backpedel ppl. It's great to be able to use 1 button instead of both hands when you want to move backwards slowly. It makes maintaining your rotation much easier than the other option.
Just because there is another way of doing things does not mean that is the only "right" way of doing things.
Just watched Method's Ultrax kill and ppl there use it, so hush you haters out there ;)
Limited attempts should be done like how it was done in TOC heroic. You get X number of attempts to get extra loot (tribute chest) and if you use all those up. . .you can still kill the bosses and get their normal drops, but no extra loot.
Priestess Delrissa ... MGT boss back in TBC ... until wearing T6 equip your group could have problems with her, no matter how well your group were organised. TBH it wasnt so enjoyable and funny :/

I LOVE Ovale spell priority and I write custom scripts for all classes/roles. even for healing. with healers I tend to use it to monitor my cooldowns. you cannot deny that you've had times where you were overwhelmed with something going on (for instance, if something goes wrong and everyone has to adjust) you might lose focus of your cooldowns and therefore lose some uptime.
No not really but that's what sets the mediocre raiders from the good raiders that can at a moments notice have something random tossed into the equation and pick it up instantly and adjust without losing DPS or maybe letting someone die. I wasn't always like this but I have been playing since Vanilla and I have just learned that these things happen and have learned how to catch stuff and adjust instantly without letting it effect me.

I completely agree and have always said two small facts of life that go for real life scenarios and in games, 1. No matter how good you are at something there is always room to improve. 2. No matter how good you are there will always be someone better than you. With these 2 things in mind I am always looking to improve myself. Even if I am casual I still strive to be really good. I hate casual's who use it as an excuse as to why they do half the DPS they should be doing.
if they do start these "higher than heroic" encounters, then they should go back to the BC model for them, where they have to grind rep and buy keys and such to even unlock them. dont just go half way.

Personally i think a 10 man pug normal raid may be the most challenging thing in the game. sure, heroic raids may be "harder" but usually they dont have unstable pug players who want to do whatever and refuse to coordinate
limited attempts would be good for the final heroic boss of every raid tier but with a catch, with the world first heroic kill of it, it just goes away.
@fran13r Actually I had 6 85 tanks (quit because of new patch but I still find Lore interesting) and it's a fact that turning, strafing quickly, then turning back is simply faster than backpedaling. Even in slight movements.
it depends on how you use that rotation helper. I used it as a training tool. I couldn't wrap my head around the dk rotation, Once I got a hold of the rotation helper and used it in a few pugs, I quickly started to understand what I was looking at. I increased my dps 90% and now I dont need it.
But on Heroic Spine, should they just not use a powerful raid CD to not avoid a ban? They should be able to do it. Just because someone uses a raid CD and it bugs out, that is Blizzard's fault. I believe all classes should use all CDs on fights. Spirit Link should be used and they should not be banned for it. Telling someone to not use a raid CD so that it doesn't bug is avoiding the issue and placing blame on the wrong person. In that case, they are not exploiting. They are using a buggy CD.
They should use the ZA timed run concept again, but with better gear for your better times in the challenge system which actually will make more people use the system. If you did ZA back in the day you would know it was difficult to get the really good gear from there.
On backpeddling, as a hunter, I use it often in situations like Baleroc, where often I had to catch a shard in mellee range, so I use the S key to find the sweet spot between me, the boss and the shard that lets me pew pew properly.
There's a great addon to help players new to enhancement shamans. It's called EnhaPrio. It gives you a nice display of your rotation, totems, hex counter, and dot duration. Good tool to assist to getting the flow of your rotation.
are these speed runs going to be hard for some classes?
for example, my spriest can actually OOM if i push full dps for more than 10mins. whereas my ele shaman cannot OOM no matter what i do, she can push full dps indefinitely.
In every situation you think you should be able to backpeddle , you can easily strafe. you can dodge/parry/block and attack while strafing and still moving fast.
Oh and worth pointing out that Spine took longer than: M'uru, Kil'Jaeden, Kel'Thuzad, heroic Dragon Soul took longer than Black Temple and Spine of Deathwing took Kin more attempts (300) than Heroic Lich King took Paragon (170).
The only person that would think removing backpaddle is good is a player that isn't a tank... For fuck sake there are many situation when you need to move backwards and tank/keep threat up all the time...

you really NEED a dk on warmaster blackhorn. on raggy you needed a priest or a mage (our glyphed rogue still died from falling damage). these things are far from obvious on 10 man

Feral by night was the add-on for Q1. They can be good learning tools for inexperienced at first but going only off those leaves little room to know certain nuances. If it will better the player I am all for my guys using IF they are learning from it. If they are using to be lazy and unthinking it is more damaging than beneficial for a raider. It really comes down to the individual, and how far they can take it to learn using things like CLC/ova/D4D etc
Better Idea Lore: Call the level 85 LFG dungeons LFG difficulty (parrallel to LFR just with less people) and then have heroic 5 mans for guilds to run as actual difficult content.
For the 5 man heroics difficulty thing, one thing they could do is buff the damage/health of bosses/trash and then buff the lfg healing/damage buff that you get from pugging, so that it will be harder for non pugs and the same difficulty for pugs.
Surely they could just do this new LFG heroics and then harder heroics which would offer the same loot, but the harder ones would give a third more valor/justice, then guilds and stuff can see it beneficial to run the harder ones just to save time, but LFG people will just accept they need to run their versions few more times.
The back peddle is perfect for WoE on Mannoroth when he does fel firestorm as a tank.. When your tanking the captain and Mannoroth casts FF the best thing for me is to back peddle and still be able to block and parry. The speed of the back peddle works out perfect so that I dont get hit by the fire but can still mitigate the captains hits and keep me moving.
There needs to be a mode for dungeons that is hard and requires coordination, but it should t be for the mainstream type reward (ie vps) perhaps for achis or something like server leader boards.
I definitely look forward to challenge modes in MoP, and kinda hope that there's not just going to be a "LFC" button. I feel like that would take away from the whole point of the system. Also, if anyone wants to learn more about the 3x3 Rubik's Cube, look up Badmephisto, he hasn't put any tutorials up lately, but he gives plenty of information to learn how to drop your times down to 10-15 seconds.
A challenge mode heroic would be pretty nice.. just make a higher ilvl requirement and maybe have them drop a little higher ilvl gear.. not much just 2 or 3 ilvls harder with maybe a special label like the "Raid Finder" or 'Heroic" type's on some gear.. obviously this would require blizz to re-tune the instnace a third time. But, they did do it with LFR so why not just regular dungeons?
Spell Flash is a great addon... It just flashes the buttons that is recommends to push.. you dont have to push them and most of the time it actually flashes multipple buttons, not just 1. Another good thing it is used for is to tell which buffs you need to activate especially when ppl around you dont have them on. Me being a paladin I have a crap ton of buffs and auras and a reminder to tell me that I need to activate one is very nice.
as a fury warrior I think the only usefull situation for actualy backpedalling is the new HoT boss with the ghouls, otherwise I couldnt dps the ghouls whilst trying to keep out of the instakilling purple gas shit
It sucks now in Cata you look at how people play their class and you dont need to know the fight, you don't need to know every aspect of your class and play it well. I remember in WoTLK you had to know how to do your role in the instance you had to know your role as a player to the group that's all lost now any 10 year old can toss up an account and tank the new heroics. I miss being able to say ya I can tank this and watch other tanks struggle. Everyone is a winner now, so everyone is a loser.
By far, the most important addon I use on my main is Balance Power Tracker. Keeping track of where my Eclipse state is makes a huge difference. BPT puts it in the center of my screen, and also it tells me where my eclipse bar WILL be, after the current cast. This makes it easier to know what I have to cast next, without having to keep all the numbers in mind at all times. And I can put the bar in the center of the screen, to maximize raid awareness over lookign at the corners.
I use CLCret for a simple reason; it's by far better to spend time watching raidframes/ boss mechanics to be reasy with support spells like lay on hands. I don't stare at clc and that's it, I mostly use it as a reminder for a spec that's incredible rng. I do the same dps with or without the addon but if I'm asked to use a support ability my dps drops like a stone without the addon, some classes there should be a default system like this. I've "helped" retris on my realm go up from 15-25k dps ju

In every situation you think you should be able to backpeddle , you can easily strafe. you can dodge/parry/block and attack while strafing and still moving fast.

Oh and worth pointing out that Spine took longer than: M'uru, Kil'Jaeden, Kel'Thuzad, heroic Dragon Soul took longer than Black Temple and Spine of Deathwing took Kin more attempts (300) than Heroic Lich King took Paragon (170).

I made the switch today. Cancelled my WoW account and got Star Wars. Not having fun anymore in WoW, just jumping around in Org.

The only person that would think removing backpaddle is good is a player that isn't a tank... For fuck sake there are many situation when you need to move backwards and tank/keep threat up all the time...

bring the player not the class doesn't always work.
you really NEED a dk on warmaster blackhorn. on raggy you needed a priest or a mage (our glyphed rogue still died from falling damage). these things are far from obvious on 10 man

Feral by night was the add-on for Q1. They can be good learning tools for inexperienced at first but going only off those leaves little room to know certain nuances. If it will better the player I am all for my guys using IF they are learning from it. If they are using to be lazy and unthinking it is more damaging than beneficial for a raider. It really comes down to the individual, and how far they can take it to learn using things like CLC/ova/D4D etc

Better Idea Lore: Call the level 85 LFG dungeons LFG difficulty (parrallel to LFR just with less people) and then have heroic 5 mans for guilds to run as actual difficult content.

For the 5 man heroics difficulty thing, one thing they could do is buff the damage/health of bosses/trash and then buff the lfg healing/damage buff that you get from pugging, so that it will be harder for non pugs and the same difficulty for pugs.

Surely they could just do this new LFG heroics and then harder heroics which would offer the same loot, but the harder ones would give a third more valor/justice, then guilds and stuff can see it beneficial to run the harder ones just to save time, but LFG people will just accept they need to run their versions few more times.

The back peddle is perfect for WoE on Mannoroth when he does fel firestorm as a tank.. When your tanking the captain and Mannoroth casts FF the best thing for me is to back peddle and still be able to block and parry. The speed of the back peddle works out perfect so that I dont get hit by the fire but can still mitigate the captains hits and keep me moving.

There needs to be a mode for dungeons that is hard and requires coordination, but it should t be for the mainstream type reward (ie vps) perhaps for achis or something like server leader boards.

I definitely look forward to challenge modes in MoP, and kinda hope that there's not just going to be a "LFC" button. I feel like that would take away from the whole point of the system. Also, if anyone wants to learn more about the 3x3 Rubik's Cube, look up Badmephisto, he hasn't put any tutorials up lately, but he gives plenty of information to learn how to drop your times down to 10-15 seconds.

A challenge mode heroic would be pretty nice.. just make a higher ilvl requirement and maybe have them drop a little higher ilvl gear.. not much just 2 or 3 ilvls harder with maybe a special label like the "Raid Finder" or 'Heroic" type's on some gear.. obviously this would require blizz to re-tune the instnace a third time. But, they did do it with LFR so why not just regular dungeons?

Spell Flash is a great addon... It just flashes the buttons that is recommends to push.. you dont have to push them and most of the time it actually flashes multipple buttons, not just 1. Another good thing it is used for is to tell which buffs you need to activate especially when ppl around you dont have them on. Me being a paladin I have a crap ton of buffs and auras and a reminder to tell me that I need to activate one is very nice.

It sucks now in Cata you look at how people play their class and you dont need to know the fight, you don't need to know every aspect of your class and play it well. I remember in WoTLK you had to know how to do your role in the instance you had to know your role as a player to the group that's all lost now any 10 year old can toss up an account and tank the new heroics. I miss being able to say ya I can tank this and watch other tanks struggle. Everyone is a winner now, so everyone is a loser.

By far, the most important addon I use on my main is Balance Power Tracker. Keeping track of where my Eclipse state is makes a huge difference. BPT puts it in the center of my screen, and also it tells me where my eclipse bar WILL be, after the current cast. This makes it easier to know what I have to cast next, without having to keep all the numbers in mind at all times. And I can put the bar in the center of the screen, to maximize raid awareness over lookign at the corners.

I use CLCret for a simple reason; it's by far better to spend time watching raidframes/ boss mechanics to be reasy with support spells like lay on hands. I don't stare at clc and that's it, I mostly use it as a reminder for a spec that's incredible rng. I do the same dps with or without the addon but if I'm asked to use a support ability my dps drops like a stone without the addon, some classes there should be a default system like this. I've "helped" retris on my realm go up from 15-25k dps ju
