My condolences, Jane... so glad you were able to see and talk with him. It's amazing how that happens... my mom had a falling out with her father, and suddenly, he was back in our lives after a 6 or so year falling out.

He passed of a sudden heart attack within a year of the rekindling at the age of 57.
