My thoughts on NH. First, 17 polls showing Obama would win were all wrong?! Zogby was spot on on the Republican side and was spot on with what Edwards would get but he was way off on the Hillary/Obama matchup (he had Obama winning by 13 points). So Zogby was wrong by 16 points. Obama's internals had him winning by 14. Heck, even Hillary's own internals had her losing by double digits. I think there is legitimate room for concern with Hillary's "win" last night.
Well, I don't know about that... the picture I got from BBC world report interviews of random people on the street, was that a lot of people were undecided, right to the end. Some said that they would decide at the voting booth; BBC reported that as having been the impression they got from the general mood...
...Maybe Clinton shedding a tear tilted the balance in her favor, in the minds of those fence-sitters who decide at the voting booth. Not to say that I would rule the possibility of fraud out, but I do think that such claims need more evidence than a surprise result.

Besides, it isn't like she had an hysterical breakdown. She got a little choked up. Someone that is that passionate about what they're doing and what they stand for *is* who I want to be the president. Plain and simple.

It was planned. They knew they were going to lose Iowa in advance and had time to come up with a back-up plan: smear Barack's record and get the female sympathy vote. Bill went around saying "I can't make her younger, I can't make her taller...". She choked up JUST ENOUGH when she was on camera for it to be a news story, without it being enough to look weak.
Pretend it isn't the case if you want - but this really is a battle between Clinton's cynicism and Obama's optimism.
