@itzjordaNN Just a quick thought. If you're gonna keep using such godlike music (seriously, nice track list), could you please mute the music in the game? :)
GREAT video. So much info, very detailed, and SIMPLE. I watch so many SF tuts which leave me feeling confused, this was the best tutorial video I've ever watched. MORE!
@zxcmaster06 yeah yeah very intresting. People don't give a shit about fanboys anymore. Please go into hiding because not even your parents care if you live anymore.
@Judgementxxx I wish that you could play online between the systems, that was not a fanboy statement its kind of true Xbox 360 was not made for other genre's of games. It has one in mind FPS. which is not the only type of game out there.
@RagingDemon21 honestly because since the first Xbox ie. Soul Calibur 2, I had it on both systems. On PS2 I owned. I pick up the Xbox controller and play it and i'm instantly average. Street Fighter 4 played it on PS3 I owned..played it at my buddies house(he has a 360) Poof can't even perform a super. My issue is not with the system just the controller...
@zxcmaster06 oh lol i was gonna say i thought they did something complety diffrent with the two systems...but yea i agree the 360 controller sucks..but the average and above players already know that so um pretty sure they using a acrade stick/pad...but one bad thing for the 360 owners is if you listen to the guy speak at e3 he say's the ps3 version will have youtube sharing well he said both will but it might take a while for the 360 owners or somethin like that..i gotta go rewatch the vid lol
@RagingDemon21 360 is a good system i will never knock that, PS3 has its drawbacks just like any other system, BUT I AM heavily looking forward to this release I LOVE Street Fighter
This is the absolute most well-thought and carefully pieced together guide I've ever watched, I learned more about TS in 2 minutes than I've learned 2 years of playing.
Learned more watching this than 2 dozen exhibition videos. Please keep up these visually clear and easy to understand videos coming. There are a lot of new SF3OL players that will benefit. :D
Not only are these videos brilliantly concise and informative, but I almost shat when I heard the 93 'Til Infinity instrumental after a good 5 year hiatus from listening to that song. What a beautiful beat!
@JackTR21 yeah but I can only parry like one hit or something easy like a fireball. Any tips on parrying combos and even super arts like the all might evo moment?
Something worth mentioning IMO, is making sure you don't always antiair with the same timing. Sometimes do it a little earlier, sometimes a little deeper. The parry window is narrow enough that little stutters with your joystick can cause the jumper to miss the parry. Also, there are certain antiairs which are safe from major retaliation even if they are completely parried.
first of all the fact that you are using these amazing hip hop instrumentals blows me away... great vid... whoever made the music selections must have the same mind i have
This is a very good tutorial about the unseen aspect and thought processes that go on when playing 3s. There is more to it than just parrying everything. As an avid player and member of the 3S community here on the east coast PLEASE BUY 3SO. I would love to see new faces at gatherings and all 3S players want is to see the game we love grow! Please give it a try if not to just show Capcom that we ALL WANT GGPO FOR FUTURE TITLES!
really good and useful stuff. i learnt a lot of this the hard way, but its good to see someone showing interested parties who never played it back in the day how the game works besides just combos and mad parry exhibitions
Yo , the moment I heard both T.R.O.Y and Til 93 in this video I thought to myself, this guy must be a rollerblader. Both those song were in classic skate vids. So I thought, why not check his favorites? And what do you know, I was right!
Parrying jump-in Shoryukens makes me feel smart. Good vid.
Also...oh snap, I remember that second beat...I've been looking for it for years. o.o Probably should've typed in T.R.O.Y. though, I thought the song I was looking for sampled, chopped, and screwed it. Thanks for making it easier to find. :)
man. i saw this on eventhubs. normally i just appreciate the videos in silence. but i really liked this video. mainly because it was knowledgeable, down to earth, and easy to listen to. I even like how you were like.... it happens. kind of like saying don't let it discourage you. i came here to comment and u even give me a track list. too good. i will be looking forward to the next.
Sick music, great video. It's a great idea to do these sorts of videos for those of us who play SFIV series. By the way if you liked the music check out Prefuse 73 ;)
Godlike! I'm subscribing to this. As a 3rd Strike player for about four years now, I really appreciate any contributions people make to the game and its community. Good shit!
This video is a fantastic way to appreciate and explore the intellectual depths of 3rd Strike. It's ten times deeper than most fighting games and this illustrates some of the reasons why. Keep 'em coming ItzjordaNN... really great work ;-)
You can throw out a low medium and time it so they land on it and cancel to SA3 for example. They don't have to jump and attack. Q can anti air with SA1 and time it so it all ends. Sort of of sucks them down to the ground. Maybe this is different from trip guard?
@itzjordaNN go metric....... go metric..... go metric...... go metric .......go metric......its not ya bday..u still aint fucking Spitfire3000 though.....and didnt know u was black either.....adding Trouble "T-Roy" to this was nice....gotta run a few on ggpo b4 this hits consoles...
@itzjordaNN INSTANTLY SUBBED, ive bein out of the game 3rd strike since 06, very nice place to start of a tuto. i hope to see some more in depth stuff soon, i like your fast production. 5*
@modelzx Trip is actually in most SF games, and in most 2d fighting games that I'm aware of. It refers to when a jumping character does an air move, they get a, say, four-frame penalty when they hit the ground where they cant do anything. The exact number of frames may vary. So, as this video mentions, if you evade a jump-in, you have a few frames to punish them when they land. However, if they do an empty jump-in, there is no punishable window, and they can punish your punish attempt.
Great video. Things like this will really help SF4 players adjust. Myself included. A video covering basic differences between SF4 and Third Strike would be aces. This really helps.
