The building is known as the Beurs van Berlage it functioned for a while as a commodity exchange. It's in the centre of Amsterdam and it's on the UNESCO list of monuments. The big hall in the Beurs van Berlage was only big enough for the entire family and all the guests. You are right about the civil wedding for normal people. It's indeed in some office at a local department of a city hall or a local courthouse. But a crown prince won't marry in an office of course. :-)

@Leviwosc But this already looks like it is a church...it looks just like a church ceremony but I guess not. It just seems so different from how other places do it. Usually the civil ceremony is in some office at the local courthouse, or the city hall or something.

@viera1963 You have the wedding in church a religion ceremony. In the Netherlands this not recognised by law so you have to be married by law mostly in the city hall of a designated location.
