  • I used to own a 73 Grand Torino Nice car, I miss it.

  • @timestandingstill thanks

  • Thanks for making the video man, i have a 76 fairlane with around 400hp at the engine so i should be making similiar power to you and i wanted to see what 4.11 are like driving.

What sort of rpm are you doing at 60mph?

    Thanks for the video! :D

  • @TheZHLANE around 2400rpm

  • @2002yz250 What tyres and wheels are you running, i have 245/60 x 14 with 3:5 gears and im doing 2700rpm at 60mph :/

  • @TheZHLANE The front tires are 225/70 Touring Lemans on magnum 500 wheels. the back tires are 255/70 Supreme Sigma on magnum 500 wheels

  • theres a chance i might get a 73 sport hopefully ill get it cuz u dnt see many cars like tht where im from =)

  • DANG, Ive GOT to get one of those

  • Heart locked in Gran Torino

  • This dude really knows what he's talking about

  • 1972 4v 351c's had open chamber heads. The 4v Closed chamber heads must be from a 70 or 71.

  • @tdibent1 ya it had a set of open heads on it, but I threw a set of closed on.

  • Wow you should have way more views for this video. It is put together extremely well with the in and out car scenes, presentation, action, and opening logo and with much respect to your fore-fathers ...If it were on dvd I would buy one. Oh one more thing ...your Ford Torino is a fabulous car with great mods a nice balance.

  • @7REDDRACO7 hey I appreciate the comment, I have a restored 79 ford f-250 with a 460 in it with a few mods and a cam. I am hoping to post a video of it in the next month or so. I will probably do the in and out of car shots again, it seems to look pretty good.

  • are the wheels 15*8?

  • 2 people who have seen this are chev-tards!

  • Needs a c4 and a bigger converter, those FMX are crap, I killed 2 with a baby 302c...

  • @fightboy1000 ya i just dont have the money right now

  • @2002yz250 ahh yes you and me both bro, love your car either way and I'm sure it has plenty more performance to unleash, it does sound very healthy and with a cam that size I just don't think that stall is doing full justice, good luck with your beaut car mate =)

  • what type of engine is yours (vin #) mines a 72 Q

  • what kind of transmission you have?

  • shes a beaut

  • Comment removed

  • sweet car original paint and everything even with the dings and stuff original paint is better its just rarely as nice as yours

  • @ltd429 thanks

  • wow i bet the cops like you !!! my dad had the same car in yellow with the strip going down the sides he got it new in 1972 then sold it 3 years latter for 1500 i wish i had that car now ! you know you can roll back milage on this cars all youi need is a drill lol ! nice driving too !

  • @gunsguitars thats stupid to even joke about doing that to a classic like that

  • Thank you

  • @rpstud12 no problem

  • im restoring a torino what are those rims called and do you know where i could find some?

  • @rpstud12 they are called magnum 500 wheels you can find them on ebay

  • to the owner of the car never sell it keep it in your family forever im telling you aint worth any amount of money.....pass it on to your son and then his son take car m8

  • @EasttSideCustomZ ya im 18 right now and my dad is passing it down to me. And I will pass it on to my children some day

  • @2002yz250 good choice

  • Most people don't know how to drive a stick these days and surely wouldn't know how to stir the stick of a big car with a big V8.

You blow most of their heads off there.

  • @alwaysopen hey, thanks for the comment

  • @2002yz250 What size headers do you have??

  • @72GranTorino1 its been 10 years since i put those on, all i remember is that they are hooker super comp headers for the 351c 4 v head.

  • @2002yz250 Dang alright..i am just trying to figure out if i will have to by block huggers or not

  • @2002yz250

    Chris,

If you put a 4 link suspension in the back, Centerforce clutch and a set of slicks on that thing it might pull a wheelie.

I had a buddy who had one in 75 w/auto but that thing was outrageous. No wheelies but 120mph was too easy.

  • @alwaysopen maybee, but right now I dont have the time and money to do that, plus the car has been really reliable and it runs good. Right now it will run a 12.7 in the quarter. What i would really like to do is throw some aluminum heads on it. Anyways thanks for the comment.

  • @2002yz250 what would aluminum heads do?

  • @vboytan an extra 50-75hp

  • @2002yz250 You mean pistons right? Because obviously an cylinder heads only keep the valves rods and what not in place. But idk i'm sorry i'm a total noob to cars. Just wanna clearify this for future references.

  • @vboytan you are thinking of valve covers

  • @Ghostman996 No, I mean the engine heads. But yeah i got you now thanks :) I learn something new everyday haha

  • @alwaysopen well most people dont know how to drive anything at all these days. lol.

  • What do you have for an exaust? I have a '72 gran torino

  • @The04rm125 hooker headers, H-pipe cross over, with original flowmaster 40s, flowing through 2 and a half inch pipes

  • Very sweet car. Could you give the specs or part number on the cam? I have a 77 f100 with a Cleavland in it ..(out of a 74 Torino) and was getting ready to do an engine build and love the way yours sounds. Also is the 2500 stall big enough or could you go bigger? Thanks

  • @stimy2001 I have the #07113 Lunati Bracket master II cam 2500-6500rpm Which I installed 6 deg advanced for more low end torque. The lobe is 104 intake and 108 exhaust. Lift is 560. Advertised duration is 295. I had first installed this cam straight up, but the low end seemed sluggish. So advancing it really picked things up and worked well with my combo. My 11 inch Fairbanks converter is rated 3,000 rpm but when power breaking it pulls in at 2300 rpm.

  • welcome. I just got a 72 gran torino today. needs work tho.

  • @72GranTorino1 nice you will have to put it on youtube when you are done

  • @2002yz250 I planned on it. It's just hard to find parts for it and the engine.

  • @72GranTorino1 what type of engine?

  • @2002yz250 a 351 cleveland 2V (H code) I can find parts. but i don't have alot of money so it's hard to find good. low price parts

  • @72GranTorino1 ya that is true for alot of people these days, I was going to get some aluminum heads but now Im going to hold off on that for a while

  • @2002yz250 Yeah those can cost a good bit of money...my biggest problem right now is finding two doors and a right front fender

  • @72GranTorino1 ya I pulled 2 doors and a right front fender off of an old junker like 8 years ago and have them sitting in my garage, eventually for replacements.

  • @2002yz250 yeah...i wish i could find one...but no junk yards around have any and i can't find any parts websites that sale them....its insane

  • @72GranTorino1 well that is the problem, you are going to have to probably drive far to get them. Plus you are going to have to find them first.

  • @2002yz250 yeah and i have no way to do that

  • @72GranTorino1 I dont know what to tell you except keep checking on ebay

  • Nice car man. Be nice to that thing.

  • @72GranTorino1 thanks for the comment

  • i have a 72 torino too. mine has a 400m small block in it. what kind of headers you think will fit it bcs i cant find any.

  • @Charybdis109 It all depends on what type of head you have. The 4v head that I have has a larger intake/ exhaust port opening than the 2v head. You will need to know which one you have in order for the ports to line up. Look for the number 2 or 4 stamped on the head, top front ,near the front plug ,valve cover bottom edge.

  • This is the best thing I've seen/heard in months. I now have wood.

  • duuude i have same year, and also sport. but interior looks nothing like this. granted some stuff has been modified by previous owners. still... also what carb do you have in yours?

  • @ohmyfrickengod a holley 650 double pumper

  • @2002yz250 thanks for the reply. that was one of the carbs i have so that works great.

  • @ohmyfrickengod ur welcome

  • i bought a torino out of the woods no rust with the big block 429 im not a ford guy but it has been setting up for 12 years they were going to scrap it i couldnt let it happen a work of art it is still setting but safe from joe china man steel

  • nice car man and the motor purrs nice

    i have a 73 gran torino

  • @mrford70 thanks, what year is yours?

  • @2002yz250 mine is 1973 living in sweden

  • do you have to pull the engine to put the headers on, because mine looks like itll be really tight....

  • l love the dash on these cars its all gauges in your face. This is one of the best looking cars Ford ever made , and has power too..

  • Nice car... A very nice car... I love the sound of your engine...

  • @zerocooltatski thanks

  • stock pistons but bored .30 over. you mean stock design flat top pistons

  • @dnl5649 ya cast stock flat tops

  • @2002yz250 i wish my car didnt have low compression pistons, otherwise it would be like a 400 hp cadillac!

  • me and my dad are looking for one sooo bad.....!!!!!!

  • @st7ng ya they are getting harder and harder to find

  • @2002yz250 i know, thats the sad part about it. alot of them are probably in the woods rotting or just beat to hell

  • @2002yz250 yep

  • @2002yz250 luckily i just found one 2 weeks ago ;)

  • @st7ng what kind of condition is it in?

  • @2002yz250 it has 77k original miles on it, very minor and few body dents, i am now the 2nd owner( technically 3rd because the people before me had it for alittle bit and just had it sit in a controlled environment) interior is nearly perfect, vinyl top is excellent, (small spot dried out near bottom of rear window) minor rust in trunk through floor, runs & drives strong. to get it "road worthy" it needs new tires, full exhaust system, oil change, new v-belt, new fuel filter and small tune up.

  • @st7ng nice! sounds like you got yourself a great car in good shape. and the stuff you have to to to it is not a big deal.

  • @2002yz250 thanks, and yeah. me and my dad are going to restore it fully. we will have shops that we have connections with do the major stuff. eventually , over time we will have the engine pulled and totally rebuilt. also were looking for those rims that you have on your torino sport. do you know what the name of those rims are and if so, where would i be able to pick up a set?

  • @st7ng nice what engine is in it? and those wheels are called magnum 500s you can pick up 4 new ones for around $600 on ebay

  • @2002yz250 it has the 302 2 barrel. im most likely going to leave it stock. if anything ill get a new intake manifold and mabey a bigger carb. also can you tell me where the fuel filter is located. im thinking its in the rear wheel well because i followed the fuel line all the way on the car frame and found nothing., the only area i couldnt look at was the wheel well so yeah. and thanks for the name of the rims :]

  • @st7ng the fuel filter is up by the engine on my dads 351 cleveland it is in like a tube and the filter is gold in color

  • @2002yz250 ohh because we looked at that and its like bolted to the engine block itself. its basically 2 "gold" cylinders? thats what it looks like

  • @2002yz250 does it look like 2 gold tubes? and its bolted to the block? i looked up that park and its the fuel pump. is the filter built into the pump?

  • @st7ng Fuel filter on Ford 2Bbl carb is screwed into the carb itself where the rubber fuel line ends.. If a remote see thru filter was added you would have found it by now. I would always put one in before the screw in filter cause it was nice to see the clear fuel thru the plastic, plus double protection.

  • @2002yz250 good point and yeah i found it, thanks :]. luckily i have some of those clear fuel filters downstairs in the workshop. there a perfect fit :]

  • @st7ng nice good to hear you found it and feel free to ask any more questions you have

  • @2002yz250 thanks for all the help :]. one thing is, i need a full exhaust system (except for the headers) ive looked on some websites and cant find any "full" exhaust systems for the 302 72' torino. do you know where i should go about this? NAPA? a catalog? website? autozone?

  • Nice car! Nothing sounds like a Cleveland. You are right about the power robbing FMX. 4V Heads are great, but with a heavy car, heavy transmission, and all your power accessories, its got a lot to overcome. You can bolt a bullet proof + lighter C4 behind it.

I also hate the Edelbrock Performer for Clevelands. The best is a "Funnel Web" from Australia, but an Offenhauser is probably easier to attain.

The big valve Cleveland responds to a big gear too.

Yours sounds great. Has more potential

  • @Stucifer ya i really need to get a c4 but right now i dont have the money. And the carb I got in it right now is a holly 650 double pumper thanks for the comment

  • @Stucifer umm the fmx is way stronger than a c4 they were built to handel drag power and why would u use a c4 instead of a c 6 a c4 is for a 289 or less

  • @biggdaddy2001

As I understand it, a transmission man can make a C4 bullet proof. FMX's were heavy, and so are C6's.

They are both strong transmissions, but its still takes a lot less to get a C4 cranking.

A Cleveland struggles with low end torque, so bolting a C4 to a Cleveland has become a hot setup. It makes sense, but it may not be as durable of a transmission. If you've still got a C powered vehicle in the year 2010, I'm guessing its a toy, and not a daily driver.

    Why not roll C4?

  • Wicked !

  • i love this car.. i want to have one.. i'm from the philippines..can anyone help me to find out how it can be possible?

  • @jonggalvez heck if i know you would have to have somebody ship it over there which would cost way to much money

  • no we made sure there werent any cops around and we kept an eye out for them

  • Did you get a ticket filming this?

  • thanks

  • very nice car !

  • clevelands are the bomb

  • your welcome

  • I really want to drive one

    THX

  • thats a amazing car!!!!

can u list all the mods u put into it i love the sound>>>

  • My step father has a 1970 torino with a 429 SCJ engine and its awsome.

  • thanks for the comment

  • Thats a really nice torino. I like the way it sounds allot off power

  • thats a long time ago!

  • nice car i have the same car but its white...the last time it was started and driven was at my dads senior prom which was 33 years ago but im hoping to get back on the road again soon! =)

  • i just cant put it into words. may your dad rip

  • walt kowalski would be proud

  • thanks for the comment

  • Thats a good looking Torino for original paint. And thanks for actually driving it right. Too many people make their cars all "shiny" and drive like grandmas .

  • thanks for the comment

  • Very nice car, as for the spoiler it looks good and centered but backwards. Also props on the "cow killer" coil in there, edlebrock carbs are junk, start looking for a quick fuel 750. Last time I drove my car I gut pulled over for making an "improper left turn" and thats the only ticket I ever got in that car.

  • thanks for the comment

  • I love the sound of those clevo's. I had a 351 2v in my 1977 Ford ZH fairlane. Im a big fan of American muscle, but Im a bigger fan of Aussie muscle :P. Look after that beast of yours buddy.

  • dude take off the spoiler the car don't need that! and u need a paint job!

  • All it really needs is a new paint job

  • Are you going to restore it?

  • thanks alot man

  • one hell of a car you got there.

"engine humms and bitter dreams grow

heart locked in a Gran Torino"

    ;)

  • thanks man

  • man u got yourself a jewel of a car take care of it! its a 10 out of a 10

  • thanks

  • Nice Car! I love how it sounds too!

  • man im havin flashbacks

  • thanks for the info i already know, the spoiler was put on over 35 years ago way before ricers

  • the best car great torino 1972

  • If you've seen the movie Gran Torino walts will is the truth about what not to do to the car. i suggest u look at it.

  • what the heck are you talking about kid?

  • you should sell that car to someone who can drive

  • My dad had one back in the 80's with a 351 and it was red with lazer stripes

  • thanks

  • Sweet car man...beautiful peice of work

  • nice car man, sounds awsome!!

  • nice car man, looks great

  • thanks for the comment and i hope it goes well for you

  • nice bro. i have the same car and same color. but its my primary means of transportation but im getting ready to pull it off the road and fix it up. hopefully it will look as good as yours

  • nice car

  • as dear mr.eastwood would say get faggety mexican spoler of of that car

  • ditto

  • bitchin torino.

  • Damn that thing looks and sounds good!

  • thanks man

  • all you people talkin crap about the spoiler listen to the first minute and a half of the video and then you will see why my dad left it on there

  • keep it, it obviously has sentimental value.

  • Dont worry about the youtube idiots. Its your car after all.

    & I want it.....

  • Spoiler ruins it

  • take the god damn spolier off it, and then its a nice car

  • nice car,horrible spoiler

  • One of my favorite fords. Gotta remove the rear spoiler and vinyl roof though. Especially the spoiler.

  • Love this car. I had one in the mid-80's, a gran Torino Sport. Is yours like mine, a rarity, one of only about 350 beefed up at factory? I hope so, cause mine would do 140, just as a stock car. I still hate deer, as I totaled mine after hitting 2 that were standing in the road. Thank God I wasn only doing 55 mph. GREAT CAR!

  • its worth around 18 grand

  • how much is this car??

  • excelent my dream car...

  • its manual!!!

  • Uh.... no... it's not.

  • Very nice car, makes me really regret getting rid of my 72 Ranchero GT before finishing it. Selling my mustang now and looking to find a torino just like yours. Love It.....

  • Love the Torino

  • You should color it Greenish White.

Buff it up. New lights and thats it.

  • Its to origional for any consideration of changing the color. There were some other factory color combos that i liked better but this is what my old man ordered it with.

  • you can buff out thew paint for like $100 make it look like brand new, as long as it still has its original gloss layer, u can buff it out nd it will look brand new

  • nice

  • nice car im getting one to rebuild here in a couple weeks

  • I don't like the color, but great car.

  • The color will grow on ya after a while
