-Does not wants to shut off.
-Required "Safely Remove Hardware" or you may lost all data!
-Windows ask you for reformat!
-Recovery Stores promoted by WD in their web page, wants from $1000 to $2200 to recover your data.
-After traumatic hours trying to recover years of data, I lost everything.
- Alternatively, dissemble the junk, connect to your PC via SATA cable and you can see all your lost files there...and internally install the drive.

Just received my 500gb My Book in the mail today. Works great. Too bad 500gb wouldn't last me long. The Terabyte My Book drive is my next move, the one you can access over the internet.
