I'd love to swordfight a wu shu practitioner. The style is so radically different than anything I'm used to I think It'd be a real blast. The speed and athleticism would compensate for the shortness of the blade, i think. Nice video.
nice form, especially for having a severe back injury. i didn't see any apparent fear of the blade. but to be honest, give 99% of the kung fu people of the world a real sword rather than a wushu steel sword, they'd be scared of it too. to me, weapons are like motorcycles, dont fear them, but definately respect them. this is why all those karate tournament showstoppers can whirl their staff's around so fast...because they're not real staff's but toothpicks. give em a real one n see if they can,,
okay. not bad. forget everything else everyone says about fearing the sword, becoming one with the sword.. your mind will still be on you and the sword. remember how they teach us in america to hit the baseball... keep your eye on what? so focus on cutting, chopping, parrying your target. focus on the ball, keep your eye (your MIND) on the ball and not on the bat(aka not on yourself or your tool). watch the nail, not the hammer - and DRIVE IT IN with intent leading and not following
also it almost looks like you're afraid of the sword. dont be if you're going to use the sword you must become one with the sword. feel the sword. compell the sword. acknowledge the sword.
