  • Awesome!!

  • Hi. To my knowledge today is the first time I've heard the name Tony Joe White. I'm sure I've heard his music before and just didn't know it was him. My dad is Jimmy Burns (Chicago), so I was raised with the blues. All I know is my daddy just hipped me to Tony Joe White, and hey, this is a bad dude.

  • AWESOME!!

  • Been a fave of mine for MANY years, remember him from the 70s and my trips to Mardi Gras. I think he is one of the best artists in America, a national treasure. A soft spoken man with a BIG message.

    ..

  • Think his first appearance was before that.Think he appeared at the 1970 Isle of

    Wight Festival.Pretty certain in fact.

  • Superb!

  • Saw Tony Joe way back in London, Chrystal Palace, in 1973 ... first time he played Europe.

Though the dude was so f....... high the show was incredible.

Ever since I simply loved his muzak.

And this song is one of my alltime-favorates!

  • I was there as well, he just came on stage at the bowl with a Gibson 335 sat on his Fender Twin reverb, stamped his foot, played guitar and blew me away with his voice.

This was the second tim I saw Tony, the first was at the Royal Albert Hall in 1971 when he supported Creedence Clearwater Revival, was just as amazing there, I think his brother was in the band with him.

Load of other greats on that day, Jeff Beck, Lou Reed, Golden Earing etc

    All the best

  • really dig this one . very good guitar work... what a tone..... tony's underrated.

  • that`s great, so I love it

  • strange how it happened... i first heard tony joe white when i was riding in a korean taxi and the radio randomly played one of his songs. the song stuck with me so much that as soon as i got to my computer i found out who it was immediately. his voice and music are just soothing like nothing else.

  • Tony Joe White is the real redeeming value of the Fender Stratocaster.

  • Superb!

  • This guy is a true musical Legend. No bullshit just great feel and a great collection music and timing.

  • You know Dire Straits ripped off Tony Joe, not the other way around.

  • @FpMLuser

Mark Knoffler plays with Tony on his new album. I had no idea that he got his style from TJW.
