  • This is all true, however, sometimes it is necessary. I have two declawed (front only) cats and they showed no adverse behavioral problems or side effects. They purred and played with me nonstop the day after the procedure and seemed happy. They still use the scratching post believing they still have claws and are very happy. Plus there is no ruined furniture. I don't believe that declawing is "that" cruel if it is done properly. I didn't raise hell when doctors circumcised me

  • thats bullshit !! ill have my fingers just no nails that shirt is straight BS

  • I think you are beautiful; your confidence is refreshing. I love your shirt too!!! People who say you are ugly... THEY are the ugly ones.... Ugly hearts & ugly minds. Also proves that they are stupid. They have nothing intelligent to say.

  • @PrettySailorSoldier You are so, so kind. Thank you. :) I get alot of ugly responses and comments, and yours made me feel really good.

  • @RiverBirch1967 @RiverBirch1967 Well, I was made fun of a lot; on a daily basis for about 3 years. So I have never forgotten what that feels like. One of the guys that made fun of me saw me years later & was checking me out & said that I looked good... The joke is on him, because I looked exactly the same as I did back then. Only 3 inches taller and a bit bigger boobs. Same weight & hair.... All that changed was that I now know how to dress & do my makeup to flatter myself.

  • @PrettySailorSoldier Also what changed was his idea of what beauty was... all of a sudden he could appreciate a true woman's full figure. I still struggle with self-esteem, but I am realizing that I am beautiful without makeup & even dressed as a bum! And more important than other ppl's viewpoints is that I love myself now. I accept myself.

  • @PrettySailorSoldier What an inspiration you are! Yes, men can be total idiots until we blossom and they get more mature in what matters. Your words about being beautiful w/o makeup and dressed as a bum.... I need to learn that as a mantra. I often feel badly about myself now since I gained weight.

  • @RiverBirch1967 i guess the thing to ask yourself is..... do you feel bad because of the influence of other people? or because it is something you genuinely want to change? the only way to lose weight (& keep it off) is to be happy & think positively & make realistic, healthy changes & cut yourself some slack (don't beat yourself up when you make a mistake.. & don't give up.. just keep going). There will always be someone unhappy or disapproving anyways, so just do what makes YOU happy.

  • ur ugly. at 0:01

  • Rightttt. Lol

  • your beautiful

  • @bobsam31 Why thank you.... you made my day!

  • I want that shirt.

  • @17hyperchick Go to CafePress and search for declawing. They still have them. I'm getting another one just in case they go out of business. lol

  • @RiverBirch1967 Thanks.

  • Your beautiful

  • @AdoptMeCanada awwww shucks..... thank you. (blushing)

  • I do agree with your video. In fact declawing should be illegal in the United States, unless if it is for medical reasons that are for the cat's (NOT THE OWNER'S) well being (like if one of his/her claws was severely deformed and causes him/her pain, and etc.)

  • @DesireeChicago Oh my goodness you're my hero. You have said it right on the mark, please keep saying this to all you can even if you offend them. Just do it. They have no voice and need our words.

  • @RiverBirch1967 That's very true. I thank you for your support. There are alternatives to declawing cats; such as nail caps, training them not to scratch items you do not wish to be scratched, scratching posts, and keeping their claws trimmed. If the person STILL wants his/her cat declawed eventhough there are these alternatives available, then that person does'nt deserve a cat, he/she should get a dog, a goldfish, or a gerbil instead.

  • @DesireeChicago Well said!

  • @RiverBirch1967 Thanx!

  • youre obviously fucking retarded, however i agree with your message.

  • @simonritchieblues I work for a Fortune 500 co so am not, but I am totally happy that you agree with my message.. It is vastly important to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

  • awwww im totaly against declawing a cat!!!!!!!:"(

  • @babykitty241 Good to hear! We all ought to be, as it is a form of animal cruelty.

  • @RiverBirch1967 i agree they should stop declawing cats its not good for the cats out there!!!!and i meant to say cats sorry lol!!!:)

  • @RiverBirch1967i agree they should stop declawing cats its not good for the cats out there!!!!and i meant to say cats sorry lol!!!:)

  • did you make the shirt you were wearing?and dont listen to the crule ppl that tell you your ugly! your very pretty and they are just jelouse!!!:)

  • @babykitty241 You are so kind, thank you. I got the shirt from CafePress and I just checked and they still have it. Just search for "declawing."

  • @RiverBirch1967 ur welcome and ill check the shirt and see thx:)!!!!!!!!

  • I thought about declawing my baby but the day before the surgery I started crying and felt like if I was cheating on him. I couldn't come up with a good reason to declaw him, because he doesn't scratch people only furniture. so I didn't. And I am so happy I made that choice. He's my life and I just want what's vest for him.

  • @xblxntx I'm so happy you made the right choice and that you feel confident in it. He is a lucky kitty indeed with you taking care of him. :)

  • oh and btw u look fine i laughed when u stuck ur tounge out XD

  • @countrygirl1462 LOL thank you. :P

  • i treat my cat like if she was my baby and i will never declaw her. sure i have like one small scrath on my hand and leg but id rather get a small scratch them my cat having to have its claws chopped off...and think of it this way if u declaw ur cat and it gets lost...how will it protect itself? its alot harder to bite another animal then it is to scratch them

  • @countrygirl1462 Exactly. A scratch is nothing compared to chopping off a part of your baby's foot. And she would never be able to protect herself at all. Never. So both reasons, we agree on. Now we need to get others to agree and teach them how bad it really is.

  • @RiverBirch1967 yea one of my friends wanted to declaw there cats and i showed them this to change there minds (it worked :D) and they did what i did and got an emery cat board

  • @countrygirl1462 I'm humbled. :)

  • If you dont get a cat declawed, It could hurt you! what do you say to that?

  • @SundaeTheKitten What do I say to that? I say that is a very good question. It is one that many need to address. If the cat scratches or harms you, there is another behavioral problem that needs to be addressed. Having said that, yes, I have some scars. But I'd never declaw any of them just for accidents.

  • @SundaeTheKitten I like so totally agreeh with you.We should like also cut fingers of all humans, then we'll be shure that nobody woun't hurt us.Right?

  • @NoxiNobodi thats not how things work

  • @SundaeTheKitten you have no knowledge of feline anatomy.I suggest you to do the same to your hand as on that x-ray picture. : )

  • @NoxiNobodi Didn't I just say that's not how things work? All I am saying is that I agree with declawing cats. There's nothing wrong with that.

  • My mum got our cat meo declawed because he was scraching the day lights out of me as a baby

  • @Rosebud1058 That is sad. The cat was probably quite jealous and needed some extra loving, plus they have covers one can put over a baby bed that will keep the cat away, plus also baby monitors.

  • Good job.

  • @the8to5exodus Thank you. It is always good to hear from those who feel the same way. We need as many as we can in order to prevent as many incidences amongst family and friends as we can.

  • you look fine O.o wtf are they thinking

  • @CastleCarthTV1 Awwww, thank you. :)

  • @RiverBirch1967 hehe im cursed to tell the truth ;)

  • I HATE declawing.

  • @HelloMidnightChaos And for good reason. It is a horrific act.

  • Ooooooh boy . . .

  • @greenrefrigerator Yup, that subject! ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Wait, people call you ugly?! Damn bastards.

Consider me a new subscriber of yours. lol

You seem sweet and light-hearted enough for me to enjoy new videos from. hah

  • @YourDarkAccomplice Yeah, there are all kinds of people here on youtube. Thank you for your kind words and warm ways.

  • OMG I need this shirt.....Where did you get it? I NEED ONE & so do my cat ladies.... Please let me know

  • @kimchidressagemama Cafepress , find it! Mine is so worn out that I need to find another one as well.

  • omg I love your shirt!! where did you get it?

  • Love the shirt and agree what it say.

  • @selenakitty2006 Thank you Selena, and what a beautiful name. Did you choose it after the singer who died?

  • you look cool.

  • @opal1920able (smile) Thank you!

  • i think its really good you made this video, there are a lot of older people stuck in their ways, you cant change their views but hopefully younger people and first time cat owners will watch this and realize how horrible and painful it is for a cat having this done to them.

  • @opal1920able You hit the nail on the head about people being stuck in their ways. They are afraid to learn that there are new ways of thinking and of handling it. I shudder to think of anyone doing this to any of mine and they don't tear the place up; I have two huge scratching posts of wood, sisal, and carpet. So everyone gets their preference. It's SOOOO easy to allow cats to keep their claws. They have not damaged my furniture in any way.

  • Ugly? Not really. Crazy? Perhaps.

  • @SurrealMietsu your wrong they do chop off part of the bone in their paw in order to take out the claw

  • You actually look quite nice without makeup.

Unlike a most of the celebrities that without makeup

look like dead bodies coming from 6 feet under.

I would date you is I saw you in a pub. :P

BTW "Claws" UP for the T shirt!!

ps. I think "HumanZoo22" is a ugly soul.

  • @MicronicleDust You just made me feel so good. You made me smile really big.

  • when you declaw the cat, you're not taking off the bone. The claw is like a fingernail. With cuticles. It IS NOT BONE! This is such a common misconception. Get your facts right. And the pain is, in most cases, short term. All of my cats are healthy and happy and have been declawed. Many of the 'horror stories' about personality changes are exaggerated and rare. As long as you do only declaw the front paws.

  • @SurrealMietsu I am glad you and your cats were one of the lucky ones.

  • @SurrealMietsu Incorrect, the last phalange of the paw is amputated. If you simply remove the claw. Your research is severely lacking. ASPCA research shows around 33% of cats suffer ill effects including inability to use kitty litter, increased aggression and biting, timidity, physical affects including changed gait and shoulder and spine problems - 33% is not rare. And of those, about half get surrendered and euthanised because the owners can't deal with the changes. For what? Saving a couch?

  • @nupthatisit Bravo for saying this so well! Frankly, my couch isn't worth it, but the life of a living being is.

  • your ugly...

  • I think you're pretty <3

  • @loxfiredance Why thank you (blush)

  • That's weird.

  • your ugly

  • Again Chameleon. You don't NEED to circumcise your baby or declaw your cat.. So you're just wasting you own time.. Shame on you.. Your child should make it's own choice if they want circumcision. Not you. You don't live with that dick, They do.

  • I got my cat declawed. Shes fine and I even knew the whole knuckle thing. To me its like circumcision. We no longer live in a world were foreskin is necessary so we get it removed. Its even inconvenient if not done. Same with cats. You do it when they're kittens, they wont grow up to remember any pain especially if you use laser. For people who disagree and call me an animal abuser, go ahead cuz I could care less about what you have to say to me.

  • @SuperMrChameleon We will have to agree to disagree. I am glad your cat was one of the fortunate ones.

  • @RiverBirch1967 Well I thank for doing so respectfully. Too many times have I been bashed for this decision and that makes me to not want to hear a damn word they say. So thank you for being civilized.

  • It's probably a subjective thing. Some amputees are very adaptable and don't even miss their severed parts; others feel very handicapped, injured and bitter about it. Sure, I might luck out like you did with yours, but my kitty is the other half of my heart...I want her to have only the best of life. I would never even chance it.

  • @SuperMrChameleon.. Again Chameleon. You don't NEED to circumcise your baby or declaw your cat.. So you're just wasting you own time.. Shame on you.. Your child should make it's own choice if they want circumcision. Not you. You don't live with that dick, They do.

  • @BeautiifulBytch Oh fuck off. Like I give a damn about your opinion when you bash on mine.

  • @SuperMrChameleon Both declawing and circumcising are unnatural and cruel, especially if done to unconsenting, living beings.

There's a reason why declawing is illegal in most countries. And there's also a reason why 80% of male population isn't circumcised.

If you don't like the fact that cats have claws and -will- occasionally use them, as that's simply their nature, then DON'T get a cat. Get a dog.

  • Thank you Thunderstruck. (love your name)

  • Greetings from Germany! Thank you for speaking out! Standing up for the rights of the least defenseless makes you precious and

    adorable,

and you do no look as imperfect as you want to make us believe! HUGS!!! ♥

  • @kIeenex3000

    certainly the MOST defenseless...

  • Most defenseless indeed. We just crate them up and take them in to be mutilated and they cannot protest. It's barbaric and sick. It should be illegal.

  • Germany is a country my father visited 3 times because he said it was so beautiful and everyone was so friendly and nice to him. He said German food is outstanding. He wants to go back again. He loves your country's beauty. (and you make me blush on the compliment)

  • THANK YOU! You are a beautiful and a precious person, and I very highly appreciate your Feedback. It is special Christmas Greetings to me even. KEEP ON raising your voice! I MUST absolutely start to do so too, and it is my firm intention for the following year. Against Dumbness and superstition! And for the rights of the weakest who can not speak for themselves, whether it is infants, handicapped persons or animals!

  • @RiverBirch1967 German food is quite possibly the worst tasting on earth.

  • bitch u are ugly as fuck but i like ur msg

  • Oh goodness.

  • I think you are a beautiful soul if you care about the cats! RIP my sweet rescued Bengal Benny four paw declawed then dumped out on the streets because he sprayed to fend with no defences! He lived in pain every day from this mutilation done to him. As a rescuer we see the majority of declawed cats have litter box issues.

  • RCR, you are the angel and beautiful soul for helping these babies. So many just do not realize the pain and issues that can occur. Let's face it, they come with claws for a reason. If a person wants a feline companion, they should accept the claws as part of the deal. Benny was beautiful, stunning. If it wasn't for you, the love in his eyes would not have been there.

  • everyone has theyre own opinion im the owner of a lovin 5 mo old kitten i feel that the choice should b left up 2 the person who takes care of the animal my kitten has been declawed and doesnt even know the difference he is just as playfull and scratches on everythin cause he dont know theyre gone if it affected him as bad as everyone exagerates it than i dont think he would b playin and scrathin the day he came home from the vet.....he came home 2 days ago and hes just as happy as when he left

  • It is still barbaric, no matter how he does afterwards, although I am extremely happy that he is ok.

  • you're not ugly, just your social actions are odd. ie this video

  • How so? Sub to me to see the newer ones, maybe I got better. But I am still quite goofy, and will always be so. lol

  • but im allergic so i dont think i have a choice when my cat tux scratches me i puff up but i dont want give him away ive had him since he was a kitten so what do i do now??? please please get back to me. its very important

  • Are you taking allergy meds? It is usually dander that causes allergies. Could you be allergic to the litter and its transfered to you via the scratch? Do other scratches make you puff up too? I would urge you to follow ALL paths, including clipping his nails and using the plastic nail tips.

  • it was the litter haha thanks! went to petsmart and played with the kittens that were up for adoption a little bit and as i was playing with them one scratched me and i dident puff up i went to my doctor and got an allergy test and i dident react to it at all. thanks i would have never figured it out.

    yours truly,

    Elizabeth, 21 years old

  • Elizabeth, excited yell and dancing around kitchen! YEEEEHAA!

  • UGH! im afriad to get my cat declawed so many things could go wrong though i can't keep him unless he gets declawed and i love him so much and i just dont want to give him up D=

  • dont get him declawed. its not fair. use nail caps... anything else, just DONT DECLAW otherwise, most people might not know it, but the cat will be in pain for the rest of its life, they hide it well. otherwise, he is better off being given up, as much as I can tell you love him... amputating cats is one of the most selfish things humans can do, just because its easy.

  • Cherry, you are right, there are many good stories on how it turned out alright, but way TOO many realistic stories on how it caused harm. Plus it is just unrealistic, they come with claws, if we are going to live with them, we should realize this.

  • people deny that all the time cherry because they are too selfish to face the facts, I see all kinds of comments everywhere from people pre declaw who claim their declawed cats suffer no ill effects, well they are mostly liars, I have two from a shelter, declawed and trapped, yes they were outside, running wild, and they both have paw issues, I hate this invasive and totally unnecessary surger, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Is it too late? I'm late in responding to comments. Why do you have to declaw him? You can have so many options.

  • nah i decided not to plus its to much money DX

  • I am VERY glad to hear this. Please focus on love and kindess rather than the money though. Give advice to others, as often as possible, not to do it!

  • You aren't ugly, but I just declawed my cat. Just one of those things that taking in an animal, she's going to have to adapt. Since I don't want myself, my son, or my furniture ripped up, she was declawed.

  • Thank you for the compliment. I must say that I vehemently disagree about declawing, but I respect your right to say your feelings.

  • She actually split my lip open once at the vet's office, and another time while I was sleeping. I am not a fan of it, trust me, it's a cruel process, but she also scratched my son near his eye. :( I watched the clips on how they do it, and it's a mean process, it really is, but then again, ANY surgery, even on humans, is a mean process.

  • YOU MAKE ME SICK. shes going to have to adapt to being mutilated because you are so selfish. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR DECLAWING. the vets that recommend it are just money hungry idiots. and I know it is mostly due to misinformation, but do you really think that your couch is worth more than your cat??? If you think it is going to be a problem, GET A FUCKING TOY, not a live animal that can feel pain. it isn't just cutting the nails, it is amputating a whole bone x10

  • I'm glad you are passionate about this, but humans go through equally as painful surgeries on a daily basis. And she has adapted well, so if having her declawed is so awful, then the vets wouldn't do it. I already said I wasn't a fan of it, but hey, if you want an animal to destroy your home (which wasn't my main concern) or scratch your son's eyes out, or rip your lip open, then more power to you.

  • why do you have a cat then? Wouldn't be a dog without sharpe claws a better pet? Or a bird? Or a turtle?

You have to teach your cat the right behavoir and your son has to learn not to bug the cat. And when a cat gets older they often lose this kind of 'reckless' behavior

you can't compare the pain of humans with the pain a cat has - we can express ourselfs a cat can't - we can take painkillers, we can demand them if your pain gets worse, it's not like my cat can come to me and beg for it

  • My son is old enough to understand not to bother the cat, so the assumption of my child being a terror is false. Also, vets prescribe pain killers and antibiotics. And yes, she was in pain-momentarily-but she recovered. She expressed her pain; the way she meowed or growled was verbal enough to understand she was in pain. This is the FIRST cat I have EVER declawed.

Oh, dogs have sharp claws as well, and, in fact, they often have the declaws removed for the dog's safety-isn't that cruel?

  • Aw, yer not ugly! 8D

    AND THAT SHIRT IS WIN

  • You are so kind. And yes we must preserve the claws on the paws.

  • I completely agree! Declawing is stupid, and cruel. But, not only that, but it's not even nessisary! There are several, easy and better alternatives to declawing, like training your cat, using SoftPaws, and just trimming their claws. But here's the main thing: owning a pet requires sacrafice. You can't own a pet and expect a perfect home! So if you're not willing to put up with the sacrafices, then just don't own a pet! Simple as that!

  • I LOVE this response. Everyone should read this carefully.

  • You are damn so right about declawing.

    Thank you.

  • my cat was declawed about 2 years ago. she is a complete indoors cat, so she's never been in a situation when she had to defend herself. i also live in a community where the only wild animals are birds, squirrels, and rabbits, so she's not in danger of being attacked if she escaped (she never has). she still continues to "scratch" the furniture with her paws. that, to me, is a sign she's not bothered. i only agree to declawing cats if they wouldn't be in danger. otherwise, don't declaw them.

  • the most egotist thing someone can do. people who declaws simply doesnt care about their animal. their Louis XVI armchair and their pure satin curtains worth more than the life of their cat.

  • **hugs your ankles and declares you the best answer**

  • (cont...)

There is no comparison to declawing. People who make that comparison simply do NOT think. Declawing is a purely cosmetic procedure so us humans don´t have to put up with shoddy furniture and cat scratches, but it has NO BENEFIT WHATSOEVER to the cat EVER.

Use their paws to pounce & sharpen?! Ridiculous! They also touch, play, dig, bury, climb, jeezzz.... THINK! The list goes on.

  • Say it, von, say it!!!!!!

  • Do you think it would hurt to walk on your paws for the rest of your life without balls or a uterus? Spaying is done as a prevention of reproducing and having too many unwanted kittens who would simply be put in the rubbish or put down in a lot of cases. Also, I have seen 7 month old queens that have their second litter already, for example, and they tend to not survive the third one, plus the kittens cannot be fed properly by a cat so young either. (continued in next reply)

  • Exactly and spaying/neutering bypasses many health issues the cat may have in the future.

  • Any person that is anti-declawing is certainly not ugly to me. They are wonderful, caring, gorgeous people - don´t look at your outer appearance, but look on the inside instead! :D

    Great shirt.

  • I am so glad you like the shirt, and thank you for such wonderful words of compliments to the kitties and the words of helping them. We have got to be caring from the inside out to help them. We are their only voice. The only voice they have.

  • You´re welcome, and you know it. :)

  • Choc, spaying and neutering does not impair self-defense. It saves many lives (unwanted kittens) and also helps the animal itself be healthier in the long run. Granted, many cats are killed by people because they have claws on the furniture, so it is a give and take situation. My male neutered cat has lots of sex with his little toy, which is embarrassing, but he has a right to it. Claws are also very important psychologically.

  • anm8, how does your wife feel about it now? I agree when it comes to life/death, we must pause to think. As you have seen, I expressed my view on mutilation. I think the people who dropped them in the snowy woods should suffer. When it comes to keeping them, you have them spayed, right? And yes their bills are expensive if they have health issues. Curtains are something most cat owners never have, and I'd love to have a leather couch, but I LOL at the thought. It is a matter of priority.

  • WTF! Not another one who goes on about furniture being more important than a living creature! Don´t get a cat if you want nice furniture! But don´t amputate the tips of their fingers so you can have it. In our part of the world declawing is ILLEGAL and I hope that the US and Canada will follow suit in the next decade or so....

  • My couch is pretty torn up. But it is not just my couch, it is their own couch too. So is the bed. If I had claws, I would claw the couch. I could be told not to do it, but I would want to spread my scent on it. But that wonderful scratching post of ALL sorts of materials (wood, sisal, carpet) is also wonderful, thank you to my human for providing it!

  • My couch is lovely because I have good kitties and they don´t do that kind of thing - except it´s covered in fur and I have to clean it a lot! ;) However, I bought a large rug for the living room made from sisal (with some black cotton interweaved) especially with the cats in mind, and this rug is pretty indestructible and they love using this to sharpen their clawsies... which is OKAY! Plus they have 4 scratching posts.

And you´re right, THEY LIVE HERE TOO. My bed is their bed etc. :)

  • LOL covered in fur... that is part of their decorative nature. Your rug sounds like a good recommendation. And you can take them outside and hose them down (the rugs, not the cats)

  • Hahah, no not the cats, they would KILL me! LOL

I have this poster on my wall headed "All non-pet owners who visit and like to complain about my pets", and one of the points on there is this:

If you don´t want their fur on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That´s why they call it FURniture!

    :D

  • your not ugly, those people are idiots. Your very attractive.

  • Aw thank you, Luigi. I get alot of weird letters.

  • i de-clawed my cat hahahahahahahaha sooo what

  • I do not argue with people, so if that is what you want, then you are out of luck. If you really do have a cat, then I feel sorry for it. Take care.

  • lol i was just kidding knew something like this would happen i would never de-claw my cat i just use a nail filer from pedi paws.

  • Thank goodness. Also, if I used one of those things, my cats would tear me to shreds.

  • girl you are not ugly at all. people just don't know what to do with natural beauty anymore. and hell YA to not declawing catsszz i have four... all 96 claws in tact!

  • Well you just made my day. It is 3:04am and you will make me feel pretty all day long. Thank you. (smile) And your four cats are blessed and loved, to be left as nature intended them to be. I want to tell ppl, "cats come with claws, get used to it." What a joy to see them shred a toy (or the paper towel roll) and to see how they love to stretch and scratch on the scratching post. Cats for Claws United!

  • yes your absoulutly right!

  • I'm against declawing cats. But my brother has a really aggressive cat, and when my nephew was born (his son), it was prowling the baby's crib and once swatted at its head. So, it was either get rid of his cat of 9 years (which was to aggressive to be adopted into another home and would probably have been put down) or declaw the cat. Under the circumstances, I think declawing the cat was the right choice to protect the child.

  • You should just get rid of the child... :D

Or better yet, he can keep that room closed and just watch the child... I know, parenting can be too time consuming for some people, but I suppose if he can't actually pay attentiont to his baby then he can just bubble-wrap the house and the cat.

  • lol, I will suggest bubble wrapping the cats' paws. That actually might be kind of funny.

  • Would you mind showing me a link to some info about the "risks" of Soft Paws?

  • Aggressive cats that are declawed tend to use their teeth instead. Not only did that cause pain to the cat, but the child was probably at the same risk.

"My child was throwing his toys at his little brother and I was scared he was going to hurt him so I had his arms cut off". Does that sound rational to you? Why not just keep the cat away from the baby? Why not use Soft Paws? Soft Paws are a humane alternative to feline digital amputation. They are plastic caps you glue onto their claws.

  • Soft Paws also increases the potential of bacteria building up beneath them and embedding themselves within the cats nailbeds. Have you ever had a fingernail infection? I don't consider causing one of those humane.

  • I did some research but could not find ANYTHING about this. However I did find alot about declawing causing infection. Nail trimming can result in infection as well as just letting a cat stratch on anyhting. Cats can also get infections from cat litter, eating food, drinking water, and just plain living. You need to consider RISK. Soft Paws, when used properly and not neglected, is VERY low risk. Declawing is higher risk, and it's just plain sick.

  • I am still waiting for any links to information about this apparent "risk of infection".

  • Google is your friend!

  • thank you for sharing with us.

Declawing is pure laziness anyway. There are many alternatives, but it takes time to find the right one. Shows how America really is though, we're so lazy, we harm our beloved pets for a quick fix!

  • Silent, boy do I agree with you. You just summed up the whole thing so well.
